Yori stares on unblinkingly, hoping Catherine had brought a suitably detailed dossier to explain her costume.

Trying to avoid giving herself a bad spin, Catherine does not wave so much as wiggle slightly in the air to greet her fellow Mechwarrior.

Mei pushed off the table lightly towards Cat.

"Oh my god you look even better than I thought and that entrance was perfect. Come here had let me get you a drink and a hug. How do you feel?"

Slowly drifting closer, Catherine somewhat awkwardly stares back at Yori while trying to think up what to say, when she is rescued by Mei-Ling.

A little embarrassed, the small redhead returns the hug. "Uh ... light and floaty?" She answers and returns a tiny smile. "I'm glad you like my costume."

"Thank you. Something light and fruity sounds good." She replies, expecting juice or punch.

Mei reached into her crate and pulled out a pale pink bottle.

"This is a rosé and it should be perfect just go slow." She pulled the cork out and passed her the bottle and a straw.

"Take a sip of that and tell me what you think while I find an empty cup for you. Unless you really like it and just want to take the bottle."

She said with a devious grin.

"Uh ..." Catherine eyes the bottle, realizing that it is wine. "That looks like a bit much."
"A bottle is fine, but I don't think I will be able to finish that today." ... or this week.

Still, she slowly and carefully takes a sip from the straw and tries to avoid making a face if this wine is bitter, like wine usually is.

Following Mei-Ling's eyes, the edge of Yoko’s mouth turned up into a subtle smirk, "If you wanna go greet her, go right ahead Mei-Ling. We'll be here."

Yori turns back to Yoko.

"My conversation with Sergeant Zhou lasted for."
Checking her watch
"15 minutes and 42 seconds. That puts it in the top 20% of my conversations for length. I will note that if I had been wearing a christmas costume it might have continued for longer."

Looking Yoko over as she asks Alek a question.
"Have you come in a specific costume? I am afraid I do no recognise it."

Yoko couldn't help preening a bit even as she contemplated what it took to get in the top 1% then.

"Uh ..." Catherine eyes the bottle, realizing that it is wine. "That looks like a bit much."

Still, she slowly and carefully takes a sip from the straw and tries to avoid making a face if this wine is bitter, like wine usually is.

"It should taste like a strawberry crew if you've ever had one of those."

Mei floated closer and whispered to Cat.

"So do you think you want to join our conversation here or do you want to go float around and find your own fun? You're welcome to do either."

Surprise flickers over Catherine's face, when she tastes strawberry instead of wine. Is this not wine after all? Taking more sips, much more freely now, she gives Mei a little smile.

"I'll stay with you all for now, if you don't mind. Just arrived, so I will do a visual survey from here, while I enjoy this strawberry crew. Thanks, Goo."

She resisted the urge to give her another hug and slowly floated back over to the conversation, looking back at Cat to make sure it was OK.

Yoko turns to Mei-Ling and blinks, sipping some wine, "I specifically remember telling you to go do that if you wanted. Figured you'd heard me."

Her slight country accent came in, with her guard the teeniest bit down at the moment.

Yori freezes as her brain attempts to work out if this is a new conversation or a continuation of the old conversation. The result is she's left staring at Mei blankly while still holding her watch up.

Sipping more slowly from her pink bottle, after Mei's admonishment, Cat comes slowly floating closer. Straw firmly stuck between her lips, the young Sergeant watches and listens to the conversation.

Pink. White. Pink. White. The translucent straw changes colour in a slow rhythm.

"Is it? Oh, umm, sorry? But anyway, I didn't ask per se but if I remember correctly it's related to an ancient Terran end of year tradition, LT. Rains over there is the same. So did I miss out on hearing everyone else rumors?"

Richard and his Lance entered the fray.

Richard was reasonably fancy. He found an older dress uniform and decided to just go with it.


John & Thomas were also dressed quite fancy and looked quite chic in their suits, while Scarlett was in a red dress and a leotard underneath, swinging gracefully through the zero-gravity space.

The evening was still young and Richard got a beer each for himself, Thomas and John in a sippy cup. The three of them now stood against the wall and chatted about trivial stuff while Scarlett joined the crowd.
