
With Southern Akos secured, it was time to explore and report back on Zone Two. Scout teams are sent out along with drones. Ideally, all four potential military targets would have some recon done against them. Knowledge was power. Information was ammunition. Every little would help. There are numerous ways to contribute to such an effort, including visually confirming details to intercepting communications to mapping the nearby terrain. It would all go toward making the inevitable battles over the site that bit easier.
This event is open to all player characters. Underlings may assist with rolls where it makes sense (they couldn't assist with a piloting roll, but could for investigation) or make a roll independently, at your discretion. This event runs for four timeslots: EM, LM, EA & LA. You need to dedicate two timeslots of the four to take part, due to the distance from the dropsite. Please do specify which in your post.
Characters should pick a target site first. Successful rolls and raises for actions against that target site will earn Recon points. Failed rolls and failed raises have no effect individually, but every four failed rolls will increase threat by 0.1 to represent your failed actions alerting the enemy. The possible actions, and the required rolls for these, are below.
Each Player Character may undertake one or two actions from those listed. The same action cannot be repeated twice by the same character (or their underlings). There is no limit to how much any one action is done by players. There is always the chance someone finds something that someone else misses.
Recon points will be totalled against each site. They will have effects as below.
The target sites are:
1) Ninovo Supply Depot
2) Jericho Prison
3) Arnad Air Base
4) Camp Kerkina
The possible actions are:
• Communications [Awareness] TN 15: 1 Recon point +2 per raise. Represents relaying back information or reporting simple findings.
Free raise if you have a Field Relay (you own or are borrowing from another player character). Free raise if you have Improved Communications as a mech quirk.
• Investigation [Perception] TN 10: 1 Recon point +1 per raise. Represents getting a distant visual on the site.
Free raise if you have a Video Imager.
• Computers (any emphasis) [Intelligence or Perception] TN 20: 4 Recon points +2 per raise. Represents various means of gathering intelligence, from using drones and checking sensors to checking scans and intercepting enemy communications.
Free raise if you have a Comm Kit.
• Navigation [Intelligence or Perception] TN 20: 4 Recon points +1 per raise. Represents gathering topographical information from around the site.
Free raise if you have an Ostscout in your lance. Free raise if you have a Holo Map.
• Tactics [Perception] TN 15: 2 Recon points +1 per raise. Represents making attack plans.
Recon Point effects: (Not cumulative)
0-9: No new information. Attacking the site will cause an additional 0.1 strength loss due to poor intelligence!
10-14: Some information on enemy buildings and static defences. The site description will be made public.
15-19: Some information on enemy defenders and whether there is a BOSS present.
20-24: Indication of possible salvage boons [if there are any nice secrets]. All information on enemy buildings and static defences. 0.1 fame gain for all who successfully scouted the site. Strength loss reduced by 0.1.
25-29: Partial disclosure. All Battle titles and general win conditions will be known in advance. An additional 0.1 fame gain for all lance leads. All who successfully scouted the site gain 0.2 fame. Strength loss reduced by 0.1.
30+: Full disclosure. All key Battle details will be known in advance. An additional 0.2 glory gain for all lance leads. All who successfully scouted the site gain 0.3 fame. Strength loss reduced by 0.2.
