Spending Them C-Bills (D4 LE Pryvidok)

[Yoko Lee]

Arriving in town, Yoko got out of the transport; It was late enough that the winter sun was approaching the horizon, and the colors were starting to mix into a kaleidoscope of oranges, reds, and purples. Still, it wasn't to terribly cold, nor late, and she was looking forward to the evening ahead.

Turning back to the transport, she looked to see how her two companions had fared on the short trip.

The hover APC was fast and suspension wasn't an issue for it. There was also plenty of space. However, that didn't make it comfortable. Tessa was only somewhat used to it. She gets up, sliding her handbag strap over her shoulder, and steps out the vehicle. They'd have to stop at the edge of town to avoid drawing too much attention to themselves.

"I can see why it is popular with tourists."

"It is rather beautiful." Klaus remarks, looking out at the scenery. "It would be nice to spend some R&R after our contract here if things go well "

Klaus offers an arm to Tessa to get around a pile of slush

[Tessa Wentworth]

The slush was certainly a nuisance. Tessa gladly takes hold of his arm until she was clear of it.

Pryvidok came across as a sleepy town with mostly restaurants open this late in the day. There were few people around. Those that were about all had a coat on. It wasn't the nicest day. Thankfully, they would still be able to find a number of shops open on the pedestrian high street.

Yoko smiles at the two before looking back herself, "Yeah, it's not half bad. I suspect it's much nicer in the summer too. For now though... how about we get the shopping done first before the stores close; I wanted to look at some local fashions and maybe pick up some food. Then I had made a nine thir... I mean twenty-one thirty reservation at an oceanside restaurant, if that sounds like a plan."

[Tessa Wentworth]

Tessa nods once, her gaze still traveling around the new area. "Fine by me." She'd wondered what Yoko had called for when they were closer to town.

[Klaus von Zinzer]

"I confess that it would be nice to eat something other than commissary food"

Or Tessa's cooking. That had been one unpleasant surprise during the trip over.

"Are you sure that things are open. There is a war on"

There were definitely some shops that were closed and few customers. Nonetheless, some had their lights on. Doors were closed due to the cold, but signs in multiple languages read 'open'.

Klaus looks at the pair. "So you two wished to pick out clothes before dinner?"

[Yoko Lee]

"That's the thought! I brought along you two to have expert eyes for what I try on, not to mention so Tessa could try things on with our help too."

A small grin.

"And I checked ahead of time; Things aren't on too high of alert this far out. Besides, if there's anything I learned from my time on the fringe, it's that everyone needs to make money, even when things might be rough. No, ESPECIALLY when things might be rough. To help pay the bills and provide a small sense of normalcy."

[Tessa Wentworth]

"I've not been clothes shopping in well over a year so I'm all for it." Tessa chimes in cheerfully. "Let's have a fun evening."

[Klaus von Zinzer]

"Well, I can think of worse things than joining a pair of ladies on a day out." Kurt offers with a smile. "Though I confess that my help at fashion will likely be whether I think it looks good. My opinion will be rather informed, other than a fact that I like the classics." He gestures to the suit he's wearing, one of many that he wears on a daily basis.

Yoko lead the way down the street, having done some research ahead of time as to where to go; First she wanted to stop by a nice dress and suit place with local fashions and materials, then to an accessory store. They had about an hour or so before the dinner reservation, and most of the other stores closed at nine in the evening regardless.

"One, telling someone if it looks nice on them or not is valuable support provided, Mister Zinzer. Two, I thought you more than capable since you usually seem to dress sharp yourself. And three, I like to think you're also hear so poor Tessa doesn't get hit on by every man in the town that thinks o-twenty is a good time to stumble out of a bar drunk."

[Klaus von Zinzer]

"I don't think that we intend to be here quite that late." Klaus begin, but he looks over at Tessa and coughs. "But yes, men would be less likely to bother Miss Wentworth if they believe she is here with a paramour. If you are willing to have me for the evening Miss Wentworth."

Klaus looks back at Yoko. "You are not worried about that yourself?"

[Yoko Lee]

She arched an eyebrow, looking back at him, "Am I not with you here also? And anyways, some people get out early; Not everyone goes until closing time. Still, I'm not actually worried about looking bad or being accosted, no. Not really."

Yoko was somewhat used to such things, so largely had a handle on them.

[Klaus von Zinzer]

Klaus offers a chuckle. "I doubt anyone would believe I was quite the Lothario to be involved with both of you."

[Yoko Lee]

"Maybe so, but unless you're holding hands or such with our poor first lieutenant, they won't know the real story. Could be one, could be both, could be our brother, neh? Besides, you look dangerous enough with the eyepatch and military bearing that there are two layers of hesitation, just enough I've usually found... ah, there it is."

Yoko pointed to a sign along the winding street two storefronts ahead of them that was called "Ladies & Gentlemen" in stylized cursive English.

"Besides, I'm sure a nobleman like you will help me fit in a little more here."

For some reason Tessa hadn't said much since leaving their transport. She was likely too busy taking in the sights and being amused by the back and forth between Klaus and Yoko. She walked alongside the nobleman, holding onto his arm, wearing an evening dress hidden by a big warm coat. She had short boots on, but there was a pair of heels in her handbag. The fuzzy coat she had on was a pure white, so she couldn't afford to get it dirty or it would be very difficult to clean. With her hair done up and twinkling delicate pearl earrings swaying below her ears as she walked, she looked a bit like a bundled up snow fairy.

"If we actually get into trouble there is a pistol in my handbag." Tessa adds into the conversation with some mischief as she pats Klaus' arm. "If~ your military bearing and eyepatch don't scare off any thugs."

She chuckles merrily as they enter the upmarket clothing shop.

"Oh, this is nice." There were a lot of dresses on the right of the store, suits for men and women on the left, along with formalwear and smaller selection of tasteful casual wear for both at the back.

There were two shop assistants on the floor. The furthest was a woman behind the counter and the closest was adjusting a display.

Spotting the new customers, he is quick to approach and greet them.

"Good evening. Is there anything I can help you with?"

Klaus certainly does not mind the very nicely made up blonde hanging on his arm, even if hidden by the coat. He does his best to be a gentleman, guiding around slush and puddles before entering the stores.

"I believe the ladies have a few things in mind. For myself, I would appreciate something that will hold up the bracing spring we are entering, but still keep a classical profile"
