She walked back over to the drums and sat down.

Do I play one of her own songs? No that would be weird. Wouldn't it? I don't know.

"Well here is one I really like to play." She said, picking up the sticks and queuing her vidphone.

Alison leant on a box, listening along. Her fingers drumming on her leg in tune as if following along like a metronome. It was music though, she couldn't help herself, and when it got to the chorus, that all famous chorus...

"Woooah, I never meant to brag, But I got him where I want him now"

Her metal voice coming through in the chorus as she sung it in a the powerful style that made her famous.

When the song finished Mei looked at Alice with renewed wonder.

"Holy shit it really is you. I mean, not that I doubted who you were but, holy shit it's you."

She took a deep breath to try and calm herself. "I cannot believe so man of my personal heroes are on this ship. OK, that settles it, I don't care if I have to store it in my room and sleep in here I'm getting a drumkit and I don't care how tedious it will be to pull it out and set it up."

"Awesome! And I hope to hear you practice a lot, even if others complain" Alison gave a thumbs up and a grin "if you can make random bits and pieces sound like a kit, you'll rock it on the real thing. Just like, don't get hurt or in trouble sleeping awkwardly, I'm sure there has to be a better situation than sleeping in a storage area right?"

"Well if I get lucky I could get a promotion, officers rooms are a little bit bigger; the Major's room is probably huge. But really I'm gonna have to sweet talk some people so I can monopolize more space than I warrant. I'll never stop practicing though, I actually carry a pair of sticks with me when I fight and if you listen to my pre-deployment comms you can probably hear me battering the primary sensor display casing while I talk to my lance. It sounds a lot like a drumline snare.

So is this something you plan on doing for a long time? Do you know what you will do after this?"

[Alison Rodríguez]

"Long time? Most likely not. Will see how long it takes to reach my goals, but I'm pretty brilliant so don't think it'll take long" Alison said with a chuckle "much like it won't take you long to get that promotion I bet."

She looked to the doorway, hearing noises then turning back.

"Think we got some attention. Better move along before you get into trouble or something. Let's rock later, kay?"
