"So you don't drink, like at all? That seems pretty rare in our line of work. Just about everyone I meet drinks or smokes or does...other things. You are a man of focus though it seems."

"I put a lot of work into my exercise routine. Drinking doesn't do me any favors with that. Plus, I get a bigger high from an adrenaline rush."

Mei looked down and slapped her belly.

"Yeah, if I cut wine out of diet I would probably lose a few pounds. but at the same time I'm trying to get bigger not smaller, just...you know it the places. I'm starting to think that whoever told me to do squats was lying to me."

"Well I want to be fit for sure and I think I reasonably am but I really want a bigger butt and thighs. I tried just eating more but the fat went to all the wrong places, it was scary. Someone told me to do lots of squats so I have been doing 3 sets of 10 for like ten months without any change. Is my running countering the gains or something?"

"Yeah, you need a coach and a bit more involved workout. And the running can be replaced with a stair machine or step ups. Think about it this way. If you are working out to get bulk, you are trying to build muscle in those areas. And you don't build muscle without progressively going harder."

He eats a bit more from his packet. "We'll get you a thick butt and thighs if that's what you want. No problem."

"I can't help with that unless you are looking for pecs rather than breasts. Not that I would suggest anything like that for you anyway. Your build is great as is. I think so at least. But you're the one that lives with it so it's up to you," he says matter-of-factly.

Thank you, you cut a rather dashing figure yourself. This ship is filled to brim with hard, strong men and soft tiny women. It's great. But it means I have to keep on top of my calorie intake. Any advice on how to motivate one of my lancemates to workout? Turtle is practically allergic to gyms."

"You are fit. You only need to do what you want to do. And I will work out right by your side as long as you want. Odd days are weight training, even days are cardio and martial arts. Days that end with nine are purely cardio."

"As for Turtle, if it's an actual problem then order him in. If it's not an issue don't worry too much about it. Or arrange team building activities that involve physical play like sports and competition."

"Wait you workout every day? I though you were supposed to rest every few days. Either way, deployments allowing, I would love to follow your regimen. I'm guessing you're there first thing in the morning?"

"I exercise around the work schedule, and with targeted workouts it's fine to work out nearly every day. I take a day here and there, but i rest muscle groups rather than the whole body. And my regimen would make you look like me. I suspect you prefer not to have that. But we don't need to do the same exercises to work together. Like having different food for lunch."

"But there has to be more you do besides work and workout right? That sounds like a kinda lonely life and you said you came out here to stop being lonely right?"

"We'll get you to your goal, though other folks can only be a guide. You'll be your version of any figure you have," he replies, not voicing his opinion. Because it didn't really matter.

"And I joined to stop being alone, not to stop being lonely," he says, making a depressing distinction.

Yoko smiled a little as the young Sergeant moved closer and spoke up, "Can't say that I have, really. Only time I've been off-world up until now has been on quick transports between planets. And not all of thise had the luxury of views outside."

"And I'd say green, but I haven't ever worn a scarf. Too easy to get used to choke me out when I pick a fight. Hat'd prolly be better."
