Butcher listens to Klaus and looks around the room to see how people react.

"Nah."

Sat in her corner, feet up on another chair, Alison shook her head. She seemed to be looking at her cup of some sort of hot drink rather than at anyone else.

"Hittin' the barracks is too obvious. It's exactly what they'd expect. Well, it's what I'd expect. First you go for the comms, then you go for the military so that the important sites are less defended. So in preparation for someone hittin' your military, what do you do? Up weapons production right?"

She turned back to the room, tilting her shades down slightly and looking at the over the top of them.

"Get them special research weapons out into the field. That means we got a nice window where they're prepping 'em for use but haven't got 'em rolled out. Sounds like a perfect window to smash in and take them, then turn them on the barracks after."

She sat back, pushing her shades back again and sipping her drink.

"I'm not a military expert though. Just calling things as I see 'em."

Klaus hadn't received any signal from Kurt. He was steadfastly remaining out of the discussion this time.

"I'm for Myron. It's closest to us and there's a Stalker in there without a pilot. It'd be a nice acquisition." He was sitting up straight and looking around as he said this. "I've also reviewed the combat data from yesterday. Some of us are rusty. That happens after being stuck for so long in a dropship. We need to be careful not to push ourselves too hard before we're ready."

"The turrets. Right now they will have trouble getting the turrets online quickly. This would give us a major advantage in Budai. If we wait, we may have a tougher fight. The militia base will be about the same if we wait."

Something about struck a cord with Eric, even if only a little bit.

There was less discussion than last time. There was a strong mood for attacking the Barracks, but an even stronger one for Budai. After some further discussion the meeting was called and participants were dismissed.
In the late afternoon a message is sent to all the lance leads and other key personnel: the Angels would be mobilising to attack the weapons research site the day after tomorrow. The operation would begin in the early morning, with a wide flank south, using the forests as cover. Angels forces would then move north to hit the site.

Eric had been persuaded it was now or never for Budai. There was too much potential profit to ignore. They could make it up to the AFFC later by hitting major military targets. It wasn't like Budai wasn't going to please some among their employers' ranks however. They would have 75% of the contents of the site. The Angels would only be keeping a few gauss rifles, assuming the site had a number of them. The presence of many defenders, a heavy mech and the site's static defences would see some damage to their mechs. There was every risk someone might get seriously hurt, or worse. However, that was sadly a mercenary's lot in life. The salvage had better make up for the risk. The die was cast.
