Fancy dress & count down (Pregame 1 EN Storage)

[Tanaki]

Tanaki has been making a point to look for people willing to join him out on the dance floor. Currently he was prowling for his next partner, glancing around through the visor of his suit.

[Hrafnhildur Ylfasdottir]

Harfna slowly floated right into the party wearing a cheerleader costume for some team called the Llamas. Her hands were without the customary pom-poms, though it made it easier for her to grab a sippy cup without slowing down. Onward she floated until, to whoever was watching, the softest low speed collision happened between Hrafna and a chair. It all happened so slowly, as the Mechtech was floating by equally as slow, and yet she made to now effort to avoid the collision. Instead her attention had been on the cup in her hands.

The last thought in her head before it hit the chair was simply "This is good".

[Lakshmi Kaala]

"Try persuading the Major about that, but I don't think Eric will go for it."

She chuckles a bit before carefully giving John a pat on the shoulder. She had to reach up to do so, but the ability to float made it much easier.

"One minute to go! I better get ready to start the count down."

Laks waves goodbye before pushing off the nearest surface.

[John Slaktare]

"See ya, captain," he says as she heads off. Then he goes back to the waiting. The countdown would be over. People would get their silly traditions out of the way with their kissing, resolutions and other crap, and then he would be able to clean up and get to bed. He already knew he wouldn't get enough sleep, so he was looking forward to getting what he could.

[Yoko Lee]

"Hm? Oh, hello Miss Wentworth."

She could tell Tessa was a little buzzed and couldn't help a little bit of a smile as she put a hand on the wall to turn and better face the blonde.

"As to fun, who can say? It's certainly been a unique New Years Evening if nothing else forme, that's for certain."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Cheers." She said without any mirth. "How is your night going so far? Make any new friends?"

"Hi, I'm Mei I don't think we have met."

[Richard Winter]

He thought about the people he had met today, shrugged his shoulders and said, "I think so. There are a lot of weirdos here, but everyone seems to be okay as they are. In any case, I'm excited to see what the future holds."

He also looked over at the handsome man and nodded. "Good evening."

[Alex Kovac]

"Goo gave me this." Catherine waves the pink bottle and offer. "It tastes like strawberriesh. Want a sip?"

She nods at the warning. "Goo told me to drink it slowly, so I've been taking really extra small ships." There is just the hint of a slur in her speech. "She may have a fresh bottle too. Goo had a whole crate of shtuff with her."

"I see... you know a good mechwarior knows when they had had enough booze." Alex shook the head and smiled. "Have you eaten?" Then the Penguin took Cat's hand pushing them from the wall to the near server. "Let's get something to eat and then dance to see if you can sweat it off." The warrior chuckled.

[Catherine Maia Hayes]

"I see... you know a good mechwarior knows when they had had enough booze." Alex shook the head and smiled. "Have you eaten?" Then the Penguin took Cat's hand pushing them from the wall to the near server. "Let's get something to eat and then dance to see if you can sweat it off." The warrior chuckled.

"Uuuh ... no?" Is Catherine's response in regard to her intake of actual food this evening. "Just had this." She holds up her by now nearly empty bottle. That leaves her with one hand free and she surrenders it to Alex with alcohol flushed cheeks. "Food and dance sounds great, Alex." The small redhead agreeably follows her friend's lead with a tipsy smile.

[Tessa Wentworth]

Her expression instantly turned downcast. "So, you've not had a good time?" It was quite the indictment. "Erm, what would you have done differently? Or added?"

[GM Yuusha]

"I'd definitely remember if we did. I'm Usov. Squadron lead for our aerospace. How you doing?" He responds smoothly, flashing her a warm smile.

"Evening." He clicks his tongue as he points a finger at Richard, mock-firing it. "Nice to meet you. You both friends?"

Sadly, the server informs her there was no food available. The large feast in the afternoon now made a lot more sense. At least the cafeteria would still be open?

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Oh aerospace, cool! You guys pull some pretty wicked G's at times, I would love to experience that some time. There room in anything you fly for a passenger, maybe you could take me for a ride some time?"

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko briefly arched an eyebrow before shrugging ever so slightly, "I never said I had a bad time. It's just tough to put into words how I feel, that's all. This is so vastly different than any other new year's I've ever had for so many reasons. I guess it just leaves me abit... thoughtful. That's all."

Not to mention a little motion sick from her first time trying champagne in zero-g, but no need to mention that. Especially to a superior.

[GM Yuusha]

"Super cool. It's amazing to be in the air - or space. I know all sorts of manoeuvres." He motioned with his hand as if it was a fighter, spinning in the air and soaring around. "I'd love to show you. It's really a thrill. I can pull a few strings. No problem." He wanted nothing more than to take her for a ride. He smiled softly, his confident gaze meeting hers. "How about it then?"

[GM Yuusha]

Tessa was a bit crestfallen, but she sucked it up.

"W-well, at least it'll be memorable. Erm, did you try the blackjack?"

Someone nearby pointed up at the giant clock as the music cut off abruptly. Twenty seconds to go. There was a scramble by some folks to ensure they had a drink.

When the clock hit ten seconds a robotic female voice took over.

Ten.

Nine.

Eight...

...

Two.

One.

A few loud bangs sounded as it hit 00:00. Suddenly some of the ceiling panels gently swung open and a large number of differently brightly coloured balloons began to float down into the room. Sparks then flew from the stage and a couple monitors built into the walls switched on, each displaying fireworks going off. Then Auld Lang Syne began to play.

[Yori Hakamada]

Yori is gently catapulted by a ceiling panel and ends up flying through the balloons with a slightly bemused expression as the new year rings in.

[Klaus von Zinzer]

Tessa was a bit crestfallen, but she sucked it up.

"W-well, at least it'll be memorable. Erm, did you try the blackjack?"

Klaus has been busy playing blackjack, and quite enjoying the process (regardless of winning) but it's to a bit of horror that he realizes that he's been preoccupied. He is a bit surpised to see one cowgirl in particular.

"Miss Wentworth you look." With one eye (and a few drinks), the once over is not particularly subtle. "Wow." Klaus looks away as the countdown end.

"I don't suppose...you found...anyone?" He can feel his face heating.

[John Slaktare]

Butcher listens and waits for the giant swell of celebration to calm. He floats near the wall and just watches and listening.

"Sounds like a date, just give me a place and time. It will be difficult given we are about to drop inti a warzone but I'm sure we can find the time. i would offer to show you my cockpit in return but I'm betting you've seen plenty."

<Countdown begins>
At the sound of the countdown Mei begins to look around a bit frantically, from Richard to Usov and then around the room for someone.

Screw it.

When the countdown ended Mei leans over offering Richard a kiss. "Happy New Year Richard, we made it to another one."

She then turned and kissed Usov. "Happy New Year, I hope we do great things together and live to do this again."

[GM Yuusha]

"Deal."

He was just thinking of a good time when the countdown started.

Then Mei was kissing Richard and he was a bit confused. Then she was kissing him and he was even more confused... but happier.

"Happy New Year! Yeah, one hundred percent. You know, threesomes are hot too."
