For out of character discussion of the Day 1 Pick a target
https://planetsfall.fallenash.com/viewt ... f=26&t=186

I rarely post these but just in case people wanted to chat on the forum about possible targets I thought I'd add this!

Personally I'm leaning towards:
---------
B) Communications Relay Outpost Szekeres - Communication Centre. Military target.
Prediction: Minor opposition. Minimally aids contract objectives. Overlooks the main highway. Chance to heavily confuse the enemy by heavily reducing their communications capacity in the area. Low salvage gain.
Strength: Minor decrease
Impact: Minimal increase
Threat: Moderate decrease
Salvage: Minor
----------

Given the threat decrease could be useful and the chance to reduce enemy communications looks juicy.

I agree completely. A blind enemy is a dead enemy.

I'm fine with folks chatting about it OOC. I encourage it even. If you can come to a consensus, great. There are pros and cons to each. That said, please don't feel like there is one "right" answer:

At least one site will have a juicy salvage (mech). Sites with a BOSS will also have a worthwhile salvage in the form of the BOSS' unit, albeit you may fully destroy it. Also, bear in mind the information and estimates you have is not 100% accurate.

Basically, evil GM not making this easy. It's definitely a matter of risk vs reward.

Good luck!

Something that came up in the Discord (Thanks for pointing that out Cat)

Threat effects:
On Impact: At the end of each session the current threat rating, divided by five and rounded up, will be added to the Impact rating. If negative, the amount is not divided by 5. E.g. If a session ends with a Threat Rating of 2.0, then Impact will increase by 0.4. However, if a session ends with a Threat Rating of -0.2, then Impact will be reduced by 0.2.

Our Impact is lowered when we attack th Comms Station.
I've already voted, but next time we vote I'll read through the mechanics more carefully

Additional Reminder we want to have this Threat level:

1.0 to 1.9 - 'Hostiles located'
Militia forces are aware of the presence of a mercenary force aiding the Federated Commonwealth. More patrols are scheduled, which will be wider ranging, while military sites are put on alert. Local forces may be sent to the mainland to reinforce the KungsArmé.

The chance of a random encounter increases by +1. Strength decreases by 0.1 at the end of each session at this level.

As it stand now we start with Treat of -0.5

after the comms attack we're even lower that, so rn we're activly working against our contract

I really think we should swing this vote if we can to Budai, it would take 3 or 4 more people and some swing rolls to do so, and there are only a half dozen people left who havent voted. But realizing the contract requirements/conditions I think it would be better for us

I think we could do a lot more with the comms to reach the goals than the Budai, as the comms is more likely to allow us to hit the others easier

It's that time of game again :D

Pick your targets 2pick2furious.

Personally I feel C) Southern Akos Militia Barracks or D) Budai Development Inc are what I'm tossing up between. It seems like a good time to go hard and use the enemy's decision paralysis to smack some heads and make our employer happy.

C has the higher impact and threat, which has me leaning that way, but D has a boss fight with an Orion which could also be lots of fun!

Interested to hear what people are thinking target wise.

There is also an option on day 5 for another site to be attacked off camera, which might potentially spice things up further.

Have a nice discussion and vote. Thanks for updating this Yori.

Yeah, if ever there was time where I wish we could attack two targets at once this is it. Both C and D have serious benefits. I am tempted to lean towards D because of how close the vote was last time. So instead of being the first to vote this time I'm going to wait and see.

Another idea would be to attack Myron first for easier pickings, then pick the extra attack option and go after either Budai or the Barracks with that.

I think Myron or Budai. We will need better salvage to repair mechs in the future.

Depends if we get to choose the location.

I also think that this will be the last Location in this zone that we can attack.

Well, we can apparently hit two locations at a significant strength cost.

But would those two locations potentially make up for that lost strength and equalize? Or could we pick two locations where the strength gained would increase strength overall? That would be a gamble but might be worth it.

While Strength is important, I think we should also really try to get both Threat and more importantly Impact back up as well.

I mean, Yoko's no tactician so she'd probably either vote for Myron (closest target) or Pryvidok (for comfort and such in the camp). With what she voted last time and the way people are leaning, that'd probably mean Myron for her.

I like the barracks, and then potentially use an extra assault to take the weapons site.

OOC, looking things over for a bit, I'm really tempted to agree with Cat though; Feels like Impact is the one thing that the Angel's would want to get up quickly here, so command knows they're pulling their weight.

Not so much for command, as to make our employers happy. Or at the point we are now, less disappointed. XD

Mercenaries do not need that many things to live well, but a good reputation is a really important thing to hold on to.
