Height: 5'5"

Eyes: Blue, sometimes red contacts
Age: 25
Build: Thin but soft

Born on the resort world of Bithinia in the Capellan Confederation, Mei is the daughter of two successful if not famous arena gladiators. Growing up around grizzled warriors and mech repair bays she was destined to pilot a mech and began training at an early age. When her father suffered a devastating injury in a match Mei's mother had to retire and sell her mech to help pay the bills as she was unable to find success as a solo gladiator. At nineteen she was gifted a wrecked Talon-5W that friends of her parents lovingly restored for her. She spent two years with her local PDF before joining her first merc company. Mei loved her time with the Starlit Knights and feels great regret whenever they are brought up but remains hopeful that the Obsidian Angels will become the surrogate family she feels she lost. Per a promise made to her parents she has eight more years before she can return home and become the gladiator she feels destined to be. The recent unveiling of the Awesome-9M has her all abuzz and her new goal is buy one in time for her debut in the arena.
Hooks and Hobbies
Mei likes to play the drums, knit and embarrass herself on the basketball court.
Mei loves to dress up fancy and has plenty of nice pieces she can share.
Mei is learning to cook, she has been learning for several years.
Mei never misses a big arena match and loves to talk about it.

Art by Guweiz.
Lancemates: Umbral Lords

Hendrick "Pickle" Bannister - Ex-Starlit Knight. A twiggy FedCom Scotsman who can be accidentally offensive when he drinks, responsible for Mei’s callsign.
Ron "Turtle" Granado - Heavyset aging Spaniard from the Periphery. Snorts when he laughs and he laughs a lot.
Stella "Hoops" Bailey - Former FedSun soldier. Loves Basketball and making Ron Granado laugh to hear him snot. Cranky without her morning coffee.

Re: Player Characters
Name: Yori Hakamada
Callsign: Apprentice
Rank: 2nd Lieutenant
Role: Mechwarrior/Strategist
Age: 33
Height: 5'4"
Build: Narrow and angular
Hair: Dyed a bright pink
Eyes: Brown and dead
Marital Status: Has her fish
"Little more than a traitor, she will be dealt with in time."
- DCMS Colonel Fujikata
"That one?...She gives me the creeps"
- Pretty much everyone in the academy.
"A loyal friend once you get past the....other things."
- Sergeant Torashirō Kawabe
Yori and her lance of DCMS deserters have been with the Obsidian Angels for a few years now, but it has taken time for them to warm up to their fellow mercs. That many of their new comrades lost friends fighting Dracs probably hasn't helped matters. An intense and frankly, odd woman, Yori has few friends which appears to bother her little. That being said her lance are family, like her fish.
Dogged by rumours about her past and still a 2nd lieutenant in her 30s many would hang up their helmets. But there must something driving the strategist to soldier on. Still, most mercs simply haven't bothered to slog through the weird to find out what is going on.
Hooks:
Sergeant Torashirō Kawabe. Callsign: Man'O'War. A veteran pilot and NCO, one of Yori's few friends and collector of model boats.
Private First Class Morikawa Rio. Callsign: 5th Doctor. Haunted and frequently prone to worry but the most open of the lance.

Hooks:
- Strategy When command does decide to interact with her it's usually for planning upcoming campaigns. Presumably that's a passion of hers?
- Honour Yori once broke a serving tray over the head of another merc from the Combine in the middle of a shouted argument about honour. Clearly that's at least an emotional reaction.
- Fish Fish soothe the pain. Fish don't judge. Fish just are.

Re: Player Characters
Name: Richard Winter
Rank: Second Lieutenant
Occupation: Mechwarrior
Callsign: Kid
Height: 5'9" (175cm)
Hair: Dark Blonde
Eyes: Greyish Blue
Age: 25
Build: Fit
Siblings: Agatha Winter (24) & Konrad Winter (22)
Others would call Richard a dreamer when they hear that he wants to buy a mech one day. However, he pursues this goal very single-mindedly and as a mercenary, he has already gone over dead bodies for it in the truest sense of the word. Also, you will quickly realize that something is wrong with his right arm, which is a prosthesis. He seems to have had it for a long time and sometimes you can find him without his arm when it is back in maintenance. He likes to talk about what life is like with the prosthesis but is reluctant to talk about how he got it.
If you don't see him training in a simulator, you can find him either in the gym lifting weights, boxing it out or at the gun range.
He also spends quite a lot of time in the canteen, or other places with enough space to carve figures and if he likes you, he might make you one. Otherwise he seems to be quite good at poker, reads a lot of comics and one or two people have caught him trying (badly) to draw some of his own.
Hooks

John “Alpha” Parrish - Ex-Starlit Knight, Old as time and says every year that he finally retires this year. Talks and drinks with pleasure. Responsible for Richards Callsign.

Thomas “Jester” Pope - Ex-Starlit Knight, Externally he pretends to be funny and cheerful, but has not yet come to terms with the death of his comrades, makes god-like Pasta.

Scarlett “Harpy” Ramos - Has a knack for DfA attacks, has at least crashed three Mechs because of this. Is really into Birds for a reason.

Re: Player Characters
Name: Aleksandr Korolov
Rank: Senior Seargent
Occupation: Mechwarrior
Callsign: Fist
Height: 6'7" (2 meters)
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Blue
Age: 34
Build: massive, muscular

The giant of the Obsidian Angles doesn't talk much about his past. What is known is he is from the Lyran Commonwealth and he spent a few years independent. Cutting his teeth in gladiatorial arenas and freelancing.
Alek Joined up with the Azure Fangs after a few years of this and served there for a while before they joined the other companies and became the Obsidian Angels.
Alek and his Lance are known for somewhat reckless behavior. Alek himself specializing in melee mech combat and Piloting a fast Grand Dragon that he uses to close the distance and deliver punishing blows. His lancemates while varying in personality follow him fearlessly into the fray.
Outside of the cockpit Alek is a loud and friendly man despite his intimidating size. Most find him either endearing or annoying but he remains relentlessly positive. Not to say he can't have a bit of a temper, especially if he's been drinking.
When not on mission Alek is often found working out or sparring, he is one of Monique's frequent sparring partners. Alek is a trained boxer and it is known he was a prizefighter in and out of the Mech. He also enjoys a good time, some drink and company and much to the surprise of some he often winds down with a good book.
Hooks
*spent a few years in underground and legitimate prize fighting both in hand to hand and mech arenas.
*loves a good work out or a good scrap
*read any good books lately? He'd love to talk about it.
*not a mechtech by any stretch he does find learning about how they work fascinating.
Lancemates:

Hammer: A much more serious woman and Alek's second, the two occasionally butt heads but care about one another like family.

Whip: a young fiery girl, Whip was kicked out of 3 Lances before ending up on Alek's. She is fierce and independent but has a semblance of respect for Alek.

Nado: A hyper young man that looks up to Alek as an older brother type. Can be a bit of a handful and often fights with Whip.
Rank: Senior Seargent
Occupation: Mechwarrior

Re: Player Characters
Name: John Skeltare
Rank: Sergeant
Occupation: Mechwarrior
Callsign: Butcher
Height: 6'0"
Hair: Blonde, shaved sides, braided beard
Eyes: Blue
Age: 28
Build: Muscular and angry
Sex: Male
Hair: Blonde
Status: Single and looking for a fight
Butcher has been around for about two years now, after being picked up by Steffen from Solaris. To hear Steffen tell it, he knew Butcher's father way back when. And that's how most people learn anything about him because he doesn't open up much. He tends to talk business, will shoot the breeze, and will respond angrily if you pick a fight. The truth of the matter is that while it's pretty easy to get him worked up and angry when you find a button to push, not many people know what those buttons are because they just don't know him. He's also taken a swing at Steffen once, the guy that seems to always have his back. Maybe he's just trying to get into a fight with everyone in the company, like he's collecting them? Or it could be that he's just an asshole.
But there is no denying that he's skilled at swinging that hatchet around when it's time to fight. Point him in the right direction and he'll ruin someone's day. A real good reason to keep him around. But his personality has led to having some of the most taciturn mechwarriors in the company to be in his lance. It just causes less problems. Steffen suggested that it might be worth giving him responsibility for others to see if that cools him off a bit. So they're giving the leadership thing a try. They are not expecting great things.
Lance
Taylor "Winkey" Lawrence - A former AFFC warrior that left for greener paydays. Stoic family man that does what he does for his husband and kids.
Kai "Spider" Han - Started out with the Obsidian Angels a year back, the same time his father left the unit, making him something of a legacy Angel. Still quite green but very intensely serious.
Saori Takeguchi "the Magician" - Only person to volunteer. She's looking to get mech close combat experience and requested Butcher's lance. She respects his technique even if she thinks he's a tool.
Hooks
- Came up through the arena scene on Solaris. Maybe we fought?
- Grew up on a dairy farm of all things. Weird for a mechwarrior, right?
- Been around the company for a little while. Maybe we fought?

You've probably heard the saying, "Save the Metal, not the Meat'. Mary is what happens when you try to save the meat. Unsurprisingly, she doesn't like to talk about her past, but a lot can be read into the details. The name places her from the Free Worlds League. The GRF-IN she pilots speaks of money, though 'Macharu' doesn't bring any noble house to mind. The severe burn scars and prosthetics speak of....well something very very unpleasant and painful in the past.
Mary is quite soft-spoken, from a combination of the damage to her throat making speaking loudly painful and not wanting to make herself the focus of attention. She is slow to make new friends, though one could argue that she is willing to go through the fires of hell for those who are her true friends.
Mary's field of expertise is Scouting and has a preference for long-range, night operations. Her lance, The Second Chancers, share in these proclivities as well as a use of prosthetics.
Liddy “Fingers” Ashworth: Middle-aged veteran woman who lost her original hands when her mech's control panel exploded. Tired of the mercenary life, but doesn’t see a better way to support herself.
Elyazbeth “Leftie” Ball: Slightly younger than fingers, Elyzabeth is soft spoken and supportive. She lost her left arm when her mech's ejection system malfunctioned.
Scottie “Righty” Holmwood: Newest guy in the squad, Scottie lost his right arm to light arms fire when unable to seek medical treatment swiftly due to enemy action. The most hotheaded and sensitive about his prosthetic replacement.
Hooks:
Let's Talk about You: Or you can talk about you, I'd rather listen.
Overcoming Battle Injuries: Have you left a piece of yourself on the battlefield? Mary knows that struggle.

Name: Tanaki of House Hoshito
Rank: Administrator
Occupation: Logistics/Negotiator
Height: 5'9"
Hair: Dark
Eyes: Dark
Age: Twenties?
Build: Athletic

Re: Player Characters
Name: Gianna Antoinette Rains
Rank: 1st Lieutenant
Occupation: Mechwarrior
Callsign: Make It
Age: 24
Height: 5' 6.5"
Weight: 115lbs
Sex: Female
Eyes: Violet
Hair: Almost green to bluish gray, depending on recency of dyeing.

Backstory:
The pretty girl with dyed hair from Canopus might seem like she should be a flashy character, but that's exactly the image that Gianna Rains tries to stay away from. Born to a respectable but not truly elite family, Gianna, her older sister, and her two younger siblings all grew up in a safe and pleasant environment. Aware but not especially concerned with the more extravagant aspects of Canopian culture, young Gianna developed a high degree of tolerance for just about everyone, as well as a curiosity about the broader universe and what worlds beyond Canopus might be like. At 18, she set out on something of a pilgrimage to see more of the universe - and promptly learned that it's a fairly rough place.
Gianna's tendencies to gamble and buy clothes and accessories that she really doesn't need mean she often looks financially insecure. But her mind is quick to pick up skills from others, such as when learning new games, and she's used that "quick study" ability to rather rapidly become a decent mechwarrior - and even learn some things about commanding larger groups of mechs.
Hooks:
- Gambling. Gianna likes card games. A lot. Especially if there's money to be made. And she generally wins more than she loses, although she's trying to cut back. For reasons.
- Shopping, especially for clothes. She rarely needs them, and as a merc doesn't really have anywhere to keep them, but that doesn't stop Gianna from using her leave time to hit the stores or markets or whatever a particular planet has to offer. Which... she's trying to cut back. For reasons.
- Cheaper thrills. Gianna's not the gambler or risk-taker she was when she joined the Angels. Maybe you've noticed the change, especially since Princess arrived? Maybe you're new enough to not know about the old "Make It" Rains, and she seems like just a little mother hen to you?
The team:
Her lancemates, the "Kindergarten":

Gavin, aka Spare; Grace, aka Lights Out; and Blair, aka Princess.

Callsign: Make It

Name: Hrafnhildur Ylfasdottir
Role: Mechtech/engineer
Age: 27
Height: 4'11" on a good day
Weight: 88 lbs
Hair: Dark red
Eyes: Brown

Had it not been for her knack of just knowing how machines work, Hrafnhildur would probably still be back on her family farm chasing lost chickens and repairing everyone's old tractor. To be honest that life suited her just fine for a while but at some point in her late teens she decided she needed to learn much, much more. Hrafna, as her friends call her, was recruited by the Obsidian Angels after a few years working as a freelance mechanic repairing and maintaining whatever she could. It was then that her skill set shot to the moon. If it flew, rolled, or walked, Hrafna had a hand in keeping it going.
A small corn stalk of a woman, Hrafna is quick to laughter and smiles. Despite her size she is never afraid to put herself in dangerous situations, often volunteering for combat roles, citing her ability for and love of demolitions. Everytime she has been denied for obvious reasons. Many find her upbeat attitude and endearing cluelessness to be a welcome break from the inevitable hardships of mercenary life. Hrafna considers herself the founder and chairwoman of the "Cog Council", a group of like minded engineers and mechanics who pool resources to build cool stuff. To date she is the only member.
Her motto: "If you can't fix something, pull out those parts and build something else."
Hooks:
-Do you play and instrument? Hrafna has a pretty decent singing voice. She often can be heard singing to the equipment she is maintaining or repairing as if it helps.
-If you have anything you'd like tinkered with, let a bright mechanical mind take a stab at it. Disclaimer: results not guaranteed, but fun is.
-Hrafna would love to learn new languages though she should probably master English first.

Re: Player Characters
Name: Klaus von Zinzer
Rank: Senior First Lieutenant
Occupation: Strategic Officer
Height: 5'8"
Hair: Black
Eyes: One
Age: Late 20's
Build: Thin, sickly
Klaus was born as a middle son into a minor noble family in the Lyran Commonwealth, and almost from the beginning he was expected to serve in the LCAF, mostly because there was no other place for him, with all other family resources tied up in providing for his older siblings. Service was one of the few ways of esteem to make a name for himself, or to forge a branch family. He managed to get a decent start in the Strategy and Tactics department of the LCAF, as it was being reforged into the joint enterprise that is not the Federated Commonwealth, and was on his way to being a rising star. Unfortunately, during a war game, in a bout of true Lyran command incompetence, one commander misjudged the range of his artillery, and struck a stockpile of another incompetent's incorrectly stored munitions. The resulting detonation swept through the command tent. Klaus barely survived, and was critically injured. Even now, his body has not fully recovered and one eye was permanently lost. Over his own objections, he was discharged on medical grounds.
Suddenly without a career, and with only military skills on his resume, the only option he saw was to turn to a mercenary company. Fortunately, he still had a good word to his name, and contacts in the LCAF who reached out to the Obsidian Angels. Klaus' ties and experience with the government meant that he was a welcome addition and has worked his way up the ranks, even in a non-combat role.
Underlings
Warrant Officer Hank Harkness: A tough with a brutish face and scarred knuckles in his late 30s, used as a Security Officer by Klaus. He has a reputation for looking for fights for fun, Klaus keeps him out of trouble.
Administrator Hasan Qo'aba "Fixer": A wiry olive skinned young man in his late teens, Klaus has appointed Hasan as "Quartermaster" for the division, meaning that he relies upon Hasan to get whatever he needs with no questions asked, especially when Klaus himself cannot bargain for them.
Technician Sharn Foraker: A pale redheaded woman in his late 20's with glasses. She is a master builder, the one Klaus asks to put things together on the fly and is a jack of many trades about things going on around the operation.
Hooks:
-Is most comfortable with fellow nobles
-He's a proud Lyran. Are you? Do you hate them?
-Do you need help working the bureaucracy? He had to learn through Lyran back channels, the Obsidian Angels are a relief in comparison. Feel free to ask for help.
-Likes strategy games, if you are up for playing
-Single...but the dating pool is complicated

Charlie is a new guy. He doesn't talk about much of his past. When pressed, he admits to a terrible mistake that resulted in everyone but his sister all but disowning him. Any further inquiries will turn the subject about if Kerensky's forces defeated the aliens they left the Inner Sphere to fight. He is a bit more open about his mercenary career having served with multiple companies. He left his last company because he disliked the newest CO's choice to allow looting civilian targets and left. If he had wanted to be a pirate, he would have joined a pirate crew.
Then there's the aliens. Charlies seems to believe that aliens infiltrated either before or during the Star League Civil War (was Amaris an alien?), Kerensky left to defeat aliens that were planning an invasion (did they win? are they still out there?), and that Comstar was either created or quickly taken over by aliens (are they in league with the aliens Kerensky went to fight or they different force?). He absolutely is willing to share this knowledge with anyone who wants to know.
Assistant Christian DeVito: He was expecting Charlie's job and was not happy with Charlie's hiring. He has chosen to work harder. Then he'll be noticed.

Re: Player Characters
Name: Catherine Maia Hayes
Rank: Sergeant
Occupation: Mechwarrior
Callsign: Hellcat
Height: 4'11"
Hair: Red
Eyes: Blue
Age: 18
Sex: Female
Build: Small, Slim, Athletic
Catherine is a young woman with short reddish hair and blue eyes. She is also really on the small side. At this point in her life, her disposition is very much on the morose side. While she does not avoid people, she remains mostly quiet and withdrawn, although it is easy enough to draw her out of this shell.
Catherine was born into the Falcart's Fangs and was 8 years old when they merged into the Obsidian Angels. She has been with the Obsidian Angels for most of her life. Having lost her mother very early on, she was raised by her single father. Hagan Liam Hayes was a bear of a man and his callsign "Grizzly" suited him like a fluffy fur pelt. He was jovial, friendly and loved life to the fullest. After losing his wife, he poured this overabundance of love into his only child. Trying his best to raise up a young girl, on his own, in the middle of a mercenary band, was not easy. But he tried his hardest to give her the best of both freedom and protection.
With him always having her back, Catherine managed to grow up with few worries. She was a very active and curious child and could be found exploring each crevice of every base or ship her father was assigned to. The young girl fell in love with Battlemechs through this and they became her playground. She loved to climb all over and explore these massive war machines every chance she could.
Thanks to that Catherine was not yet 9 years old when she earned herself a callsign. Hellion was the first suggestion in the running, but Hellcat is the one that ultimately stuck. Many of the long time Angels will surely remember that wild child. Each morning a little girl in a pretty dress left her room, only to hide it somewhere and run around as a redheaded tomboy in shorts and undershirt, decorated all over with various smudges of mostly dirt caked grease.
Battlemechs became the young girl's favourite are of interest and she learned all she could about them. Only when puberty began to set in, did Catherine begin to become a little bit more self-conscious. Her dresses still came off at every chance, but overalls were now her clothes of choice, much to her father's relief. A true mercenary brat, she could not wait to ride in a real Battlemech.
Catherine's world was a place full of joy and exploration fuelled wonder, with her father the big warm sun she joyfully orbited around.
Then Toland happened, a few months before Kelenfold.
Cat's father lost his life there, in a spectacular explosion after a pirate bomber crashed into his mech and took them both out. Catherine does not even have his ashes, nor was she able give her father a proper funeral. All this hit the young girl very hard and she withdraw deeply into a personal shell. Once her room was the one place she was never to be found in. Now, she rarely ever left it, eyes puffy and as red as her hair. For months all she could do was cry herself to fitful sleep night after night, until Captain Kaala decided to take matters into her own hands and try to drag Catherine back into life.
It has taken months, but slowly more and more glimpses of the former Hellcat seem to be now returning. Especially now that Catherine was finally allowed to pilot, which she did impressively enough at Kelenfold to be quickly promoted.
If only there wasn't this sour ashen taste in her mouth. If only her father was still there. It is not even her father's well familiar and beloved mech that she pilots. The one she knew and loved so well. She only inherited a replacement for it. But it is the one thing she has truly left now and she will make the most of it. Her dad may be gone forever, but she can still make him proud.

Hooks:
Around 10 to 5 years ago, Hellcat was a real wild child. Hiding her things or even herself in the most surprising places.Catherine's father, Hagan Liam Hayes, callsign "Grizzly", was a huge but friendly man, who could easily get along with anyone. As long as you were no threat to his daughter.
- Did you find her sleeping somewhere on or even inside your mech?
- Did the tomboy try to hide one of her unwanted dresses in your workspace?
- Did she pester you with a deluge of Battlemech questions?
- Did her childish antics back then amuse or annoy you?
Oldtime Obsidian Angels:Catherine went through a drastic personality change after the death of her dad.
- Did you know him well, before he fell at Toland? Was he a good friend, comrade or friendly rival?
- Were you maybe even part of the original Falcart's Fangs with him and able to see his daughter grow up?
Former Starlit Knights:- Did she save your butt at Kelenfold and you later learned that her father had only died some months before?
- Oldtime Angels saw her progress from a cheerful wild child into a crybaby and then into a morose but capable Mechwarrior.
- Do you prefer the much calmer, but withdrawn young woman she seems to have become?
- Do you want the always smiling and joyful Hellcat back? Will you try to draw her out again?
- Do you love Battlemechs too and enjoy Catherine's wide ranging knowledge of their specs?
Catherine's lance is called "The Clowder". A quip name that ended up sticking.
Her three subordinates are:
Mechwarrior Winston Richter "Wildhog", 34, big bristly bearded man, friendly, reckless, likes CQC
Mechwarrior Martina Rodríguez "Ostrich", 27, a tall woman, good runner with strong legs
Mechwarrior Irene Samaras "Mouse", 22, petite woman just learning the ropes

Re: Player Characters
Name: Yoko Lee
Rank: Adjunct
Position: Assistant Comms
Gender: female
Age: early 20's
Height: 5'7"
Build: lithe but curvy
Hair: shiny black almost looking purple
Eyes: aqua/turquoise
Important Relatives: Mei Lee, mother
Around Camp:
Yoko is somewhat of a mysterious woman around the Obsidian Angels camp, hired only recently and not the most forthcoming of individuals. She spends a lot of her time in the Mobile HQ with the comms headset on, listening in on news and chatter and sending out messages as needed. When she's not there, the woman seems to be sent out from camp a lot on various errands that she doesn't talk about beyond needing some fresh air and a cig. Otherwise she's a pleasant enough woman, a bit curt and brief and usually smelling of cig smoke, but polite enough and ways up for a conversation.
First Impressions:
Yoko Lee is a medium to tallish woman of some sort of mixed Asiatic descent, with pale skin, sea green eyes, and hair that is a shiny black/purple. If one were to be crass they'd probably say she was 'very easy on the eyes', something she often seems to flaunt with hotpants or jean shorts and a variety of croptops and tanktops, even under a jacket when it's colder. One might say she has a very expressive face, but only when she's showing her emotions, something often hidden behind a blank stare or sunglasses. Yoko also sometimes has a service pistol on her, but what kind and how good she is with it are largely unknowns since she never seems to take it out of it's holster.
Known Backstory:
Yoko is known to have arrived from Draconis Combine space, and the fact she speaks Japanese would suggest she's from there. Though she claims not to be a Combine Citizen. The only people who seem to know a great deal more about her are the Intelligence Officer and CO, and neither of them exactly gave her a big introduction to everyone. When asked, the Intelligence Officer notes she's smarter than she looks and knows more than she lets on, but not much else. For her part, what little Yoko has opened up to about her past is that she used to be a dancer, she got into some sort of 'misunderstanding' with the law, and that the only family she cares about is a mother who she's not gotten in contact with lately.
Known Interests & Hobbies:
Yoko isn't shy about enjoying her cigs and alcohol, though she does seem to make a conscious effort not to get too intoxicated at least. Those around camp who partake in such things also note she's expressed interest in games of chance like cards or dice, though she's said it's more a curiosity than anything. On her shore leave trips she usually goes to bar or dance clubs, and she's said she's interested in dancing, even if she seems a bit hesitant to do so in front of others. Finally, Yoko seems to enjoy watching or listening to sports, especially wrestling and racing, though anything suitably fast-paced and competitive seems to pique her interest (especially if there are betting lines out on it).

Alex likes to help people. The mechwarrior is a late riser. Alex inherited a crusader from Andrew Kovac who is now deceased. The lance mates know it was a hard hit on Alex so they try their best to keep the mechwarior in good shape and state of mind. Rico being the prankster pushing Alex to the limits. They all have good fun. Might not look like it but Alex is good with reparing mechs. The warrior is not afraid to get down and dirty helping repair mechs. You probably will see the young apprentice in the hangar bothering a poor mechtech, offering to help out.
In battle, Alex is analytical and calculates who where the target would be. The lance mates trust their commanding officer's notes. Kappa Mickey sometimes is a bit green but Skipper has his back. Who some might take some use to is Rico and his appreciation of heavy weapon.
Hooks:
Want to talk... Alex is here to help.
Need some music... Alex can sing and play guitar.
Need your mech checked out... Alex can suggest some things.
Just need a friend... Alex can be your friend.

Eilonwy Ainsley
AKA: Dr L, Elle
Occupation: Doctor
Height: 5' 8"
Build: Slim
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blonde
Age: Late 20s
The doctor hasn't been seen much outside of Medical. Since she joined the Descent, her time has been spent checking inventory, updating and rearranging equipment, and reviewing records. Only recently has she begun to explore the ship beyond her workspace and socialize with others on board.
Eilonwy appears young, with the soft hands and thin body of a scholar. It's easy to think that she's never faced hardship or worked for anything. If she lacks experience, however, she clearly makes up for it in knowledge. Watching her administer treatment or explain medical concerns make it clear that she isn't a novice.
Elle is friendly and approachable, and seems eager to make new friends and build relationships. Even in Medical, she rarely takes on the cold, clinical demeanor associated with many doctors. Her personality matches the warm and inviting environment she's created for her patients. Some may question whether she's a bit too friendly, but her occasionally playful demeanor never diminishes her professionalism.
Doctor L offers little about her past, preferring to focus on the here and now. At the most, she'll talk about working in smaller clinics after leaving school or about how she likes to cook in her spare time. There is a lilt to her voice at times and the hint of a Gaelic accent occasionally slips out. There's little else, however, to indicate where she's come from.

Re: Player Characters
Name: Alison (Alice as she is known in the singing world) Rodríguez
Occupation: Technological assistant/expert, Free worlds renowned singer (currently on singing hiatus)
Height: 5'3"
Hair: Purple
Eyes: Blue
Age: 19
Build: Lithe
Status: Single
To the public, Alice Rodriguez is a brilliant talent. Her vocal range has impressed ever since she broken onto the rock and metal scene aged just 14 with her band Blood-fuelled Engine and even when the band split she continued to perform. Her fans love her for this. Those who dig deeper into her life however learn that there is more to this singer than just a voice.
For the last year she has been doing mercenary work, and while many didn’t take her seriously Alice did what she always did; proved her doubters wrong. Although she had to put her music work on hold for a while, it was worth it as she gained a reputation of being a computers expert far beyond her young years. Although she wasn’t above using her reputation as a singer to get her to the table, her performance instincts helped her with negotiations as all entertainers are taught to connect with their audience – she simply applied this to the negotiation tables to get herself a favourable deal.
It was through this that she came to learn of the Obsidian Angels, and after managing to make herself look too good to pass up arranged an interview. Selling her worth not as a singer (she managed to get past that view quickly) but as a girl who could make technology sing in harmony together (something she thought was a great pun. Others may not agree). She has been part of the Angels now for a few months, and while she has grown to hate the 'airhead' jokes made about her celebrity status, none have been able to doubt her efforts or her abilities.
Alison is an average height, and while not very physically strong she has taken care of her body. Her voice has a slight country twang to it, which comes through in her singing when she isn’t screaming in a true metal style. Her clothing, attire and hair all stand out in a very loud way, but she also has wigs and normal clothes for those times where she doesn’t need to stand out at all, and she knows how to avoid attention.
Members of Blood-fuelled Engine
Alice Rodríguez - Lead/screamer vocals
Zac (no surname given in the band, people digging into the members history found surname to be....smith) - lead guitar, backup vocals. Oldest member of the band (4 years older than Alice)
Jenna Myera - bass guitar. Rarely sang, but had a very high-pitched voice when she did (usually on slower numbers)
Alex Emmerson - drummer/backup screamer vocals. Has a slight lisp which makes it sound like he is saying Arex instead of Alex, which is why his fans call him Rex
The also had a sometimes member called Ellie who played either violin or keyboard

Hooks:
- Haven't I seen you before? - Alison, as a singer, has performed both heavy rock and metal all over the Free Worlds. Maybe you saw one of her performances? Admit it, you had her poster on your wall.
- A double life? - those who worked with more covert groups within the Free Worlds may have come across Alison in another way...
- Aren't you too pretty to be a merc? Alison has been all over the last year. Not difficult to come across her
- Knowing the right people - Alison and Tessa has an odd work friendship and have worked together quite often since Alison joined the Angels.

Rank: Sergeant
Occupation: Mechwarrior
Callsign: Hannya
Height: 5' 10"
Hair: Blue-grey (bleached, colored)
Eyes: Violet
Age: 29
Build: Athletic
Sex: Female
Joining up with the company in 3049, Samara was recently promoted and placed in charge of her own lance following the Kelenfold deployment.
A mechwarrior hailing from the Draconis Combine, Samara has not gone on to win friends and influence people in her short time with the outfit. Taciturn - curt, more like - to the point of rudeness, she may not be the easiest to get along with but has demonstrated practiced skill in the cockpit. As a former Solaris gladiator, Samara had a better than average performance record in the second-string divisions though her prickly disposition did no favors for her in winning over fans and sponsors, which likely prompted her recent career change.
Prior to her time in the arena, Samara was a conscript in the DCMS where she was taught the fine art of mechwarrioring. Of her time in service for the Dragon, she speaks about as much as she does for anything else which is to say, little.
Built rather solidly, Samara lacks muscular bulk but similarly, she has little in the way of body fat. She works out often, keeping in good physical shape for her other favored activity: boxing. A careful observer would note that Samara's nose has something of a kink to it, from having been broken and reset a number of times.
When she's not fighting, there's downtime, and she's got money, Samara works on expanding her collection of body art. Tattooed on her arms, shoulders, and across her back, she favors traditional Japanese tattooing designs and methodologies and so her adding to her collection is often stymied by opportunities to travel back to her favored artist's shop.
Samara's recent promotion put her in lead of her own lance. As a relatively new formation, they don't have a nickname yet.
Saoirse “Fridge” Kumar, 28. Hails from the Free Worlds League; former mechtech for the FWLM (4th Marik Militia), who graduated up to the cockpit. Has an almost instinctive grasp of cockpit climate control systems, gaining her some degree of popularity. Soap opera fanatic.
Irena “Pepper” Tsai, 25. Former CCAF mechwarrior. Quite friendly as Capellans go, knows an expansive repertoire of authentic Szechuan recipes - was temporarily banned from the galley for demonstrating this knowledge to great effect when challenged on it.
Gordon “Leaky” Faucette, 29. Periphery mechwarrior. Used to run with “archaeologists” (treasure hunters/salvagers). Proud owner of a (supposed) Star League-era artifact: a pen (supposedly) dating from the early 2700s - it still writes!...supposedly.
