Day 1 & 2 (March 21st & March 22nd)

Day 1
It is March 21st 3050. Yesterday the invasion fleet arrived in orbit. Scans of the planet and attacks on the orbital satellites followed. Then came planetfall overnight. The AFFC launched a huge assault on the main continent, their dropships splitting off into task forces screen by aerospace fighters to land on various parts of Somogy. The Angels followed, making excellent use of the AFFC's quickly establish air superiority to shield their vulnerable dropships. However, rather than touch down on the main continent, the Angels fleet and a respectable AFFC aerospace escort diverted to Akos under cover of night, flying at low altitude just over the ocean. By the early morning you touched down on a secluded part of the continent, in the South West, as the AFFC's ships returned to aid their main forces. As much of yesterday was spent strapped in for all aboard, being let loose couldn't come sooner to many. Meanwhile an AFFC Leopard also dropped off a few mechs and vehicles belonging to the AFFC's Liaison Officer and his entourage. They joined the Angels as a dropsite and headquarters is established. Weather wise the planet is cold and the area immediately around the dropsite is covered in snow. Thankfully, the snow has stopped and the temperature isn't so cold that ice forms. Slowly, very slowly, the snow is expected to melt. Throughout the day that follows there is a lot of activity as vehicles, supplies and so on are unloaded, a perimeter is set up around the dropships and the immediate area is secured. By the early evening a briefing is called for key personnel to decide the first target of attack.

Day 2
March 22nd, 3050. Today there is fog in the morning across much of the Southern continent. By the afternoon it begins to clear. The Angels use this to their advantage as reconnaissance activities are undertaken. Meanwhile, secondary supplies and equipment are unloaded from the dropships and the dropsite continues to be full of activity. Further perimeter defences are also put in place. There is a chill in the air still, and the sky is cloudy again, but somehow the day feels a tiny bit warmer. The local informant has turned up and has been in discussions with the unit's leadership all day. Some basic information on potential target sites starts to form, and a great deal of information about the closest civilian site is also revealed. If it could be liberated and the rest of the Southern continent secured, then it would be a useful place to do business, to rest and to collect fresh supplies. However, there is more to do before that. Reports from the AFFC are coming in detailing engagements with the KungsArmé on the mainland. The enemy are more determined that expected, but they're still being driven back all the same. Already the majority of enemy aerial assets or their bases have been hit while ground forces are moving to surround the capital.
