Wrapping up the party (Pregame 1 LN Storage)

The room was much sparser now than when the party had first started or the countdown had sounded. The music had been switched to slow and romantic songs and the remaining tables were being packed away. One couple were spinning slowly in the air, just holding each other and whispering, lost in their own world. They hadn't been the only ones, but they were the longest lasting. There were others enjoying the music, but energy levels had faded so the floaty dance craziness that had been witnessed at the start of the party had long since faded.

A few hold out groups were still using the various chairs around the room, just chatting and enjoying the last of the drinks. It was that time of the evening. The wrap up.

Butcher was helping with the pack up, having helped with cleaning and putting away dishes earlier. Everyone else could have fun. But someone needed to get shit done so they could enjoy themselves. May as well be someone that didn't know how to have fun.

He was approached by an unfamiliar face. Well, maybe he had seen it before, but it was still a new addition. "Need some help?"

"If you like," John replies. "Charlie right? Charlie, Charles or Chuck?" He says, asking for a preferred name.

Charlie began helping him clean. "Charlie is fine. Though really anything but Charles is OK." He looks at the man questioningly. "And you are John?" He heard that was his name. But he may also prefer a nickname or even his callsign. It was always a good idea to be on the good side the guy called Butchered by his peers.

"Usually just go by Butcher," he replies with a shrug. "Lots of folks named John, Slaktare's odd, and it means butcher besides."

He continues cleaning. "You're the new mechtech right?"

[Charlie Schroeder]

"Butcher it is then." He nods. "Yeah. My last company was going down a bad road. Best leave now. I heard this company has a good reputation and was looking for some more crew for this job, so I signed up. Any tips for the new guy?"

[John Slaktare]

"Most folks around here are friendly. Work hard, keep your nose clean, they'll take care of you. Don't pick fights with Butcher. He's not the best fighter, but he's the one most likely to take a swing for stupid reasons. Food's decent, but doesn't hurt to get some variety when you can. Don't piss off Sergeant Major McConnell unless you want additional duty," he says, giving a handful of tips.

Alex stayed around to clean. The poor warrior was a bit tired but dreaded going to sleep. Drinking up some coffee from a covered cup while picking up the trash. Alex just smiled at each piece of trash the warrior picked and placed it in the floating bag.

Laks and Tessa had both been too merry for clean-up duty. It had therefore been delegated.



Jamarco was collecting some of the party horns that had been dropped and left to hang in the air around the room after the count down. He kept sighing as he did so.

Charlie nods. More or less what he expected. But still good to know. "Any mechwarriors who are particular about their mechs." After a second, he clarifies. "I know most are. I mean there's some mechwarriors who trust the technicians to work on their mechs without input. There's some who would rather give their input first." There was no judgement in his voice. Clearly, he'd rather just talk to second ones first before getting an ear full.

"Not really sure honestly. I'm more the type to let the techs do what they do, and if I want something specific I'll ask. I'm not a mechtech though, so why get in the way?"

Butcher starts collecting chairs to put in storage.

Alex noted Jamarco sighing and in need of bag to put the horns in. Alex moved some how and did a peek a boo from above Jamarco. "Penny for your thoughts."

[GM Yuusha]

"Oh. Hey Sergeant." The much taller man states morosely. He sighs again. "It's fine. Just..." He shrugs and waves it away.

[Alex Kovac]

Alex turned right side up. "You owe me a 1000 cbills if you don't tell me what is on your mind." The sergeant winked moved a hand to be paid.

[GM Yuusha]

"No way! I don't have t-" He stopped. "Oh. Ha. Yeah, yeah. It's... well. He discreetly pointed to the couple floating together, dancing lazily and whispering sweet nothings.

"I had this huge crush on her, you know?"

[Alex Kovac]

Alex pursed the lips. "Did you ever tell her? If you never did how would she know. If she detected you... well..." It was one of the few times that Alex could wrap an arm around Jamarco's shoulder, and so Alex did. "There are plenty of star in the night sky... one surely is shining for you." Alex placed a kiss on the young man's cheek and giggled.

Jamarco rubbed his cheek and made a face. "I don't swing that way, er, Sergeant." He looked a bit creeped out. "And yeah, I told her. Fat good it did."

He sailed past Alex with the party horns he'd gathered. "I'm getting a bag for these." One of the horns floated out of his hold and spun away behind him, but he hadn't noticed.

Alex sighed and wondered about it. The young warrior picked up the horn left behind and placed it inside the bag held by Alex. "Sorry... I just wanted to help..." The sergeant lowered the head sadden and sighed.

"It's fine. I'm just being a mopey ass." He says, being a bit more charitable. "Thanks for the help."
