"I am always interested in hearing about people's troubled families. But they only rarely share such information with me."

Lawrence speaks up next as moves to take a drink. "Even families that get along are troubled by the merc and military lifestyles. Almost guaranteed someone in the company will understand where you're coming from."

Keeping her part of the conversation going, not having much to add to the other.

"That's the thing though; Nobody wants to talk about their family problems for a good reason, understanding or not. I mean, the chances of finding a non-judgmental and understanding person in the first place is one thing. Then you have to hope they're the sort of person who can either help you or at least not hurt, rather than give out bad advice. Not to mention the risk they'll use the information against you, now that they know a weakness of yours..."

She shook her head as she slowly brought the treadmill to a stop, "No, it's never worth it. That's why we get the privilege of paying trained professionals to help us with that sort of thing."

John quickly but silently agrees with Yoko's sentiment, just giving a quick nod. Though the most therapeutic thing he does is rearrange people's faces. My family is my business.

"That does make sense from a strict risk/reward perspective. I usually try and repress my emotions, so this falls well into line with that."

"Do we have a trained psychologist on board?"

"Not that I am aware of," Lawrence replies.

Butcher nods at that. "If there was I'd probably have mandatory meetings with em."

Yoko gives a chuckle as she steps of tge treadmill, long pale limbs covered in a thin sheen of sweat from the fast, uphill walking.

"I can certainly believe that. I imagine a psych working for a mercenary company would have more than their hands full, even more so than a surgeon."

"Maybe it is something command could invest in, given the large amount of mercenaries with traumatic backstories within the company? It would probably turn a profit.

"Could come directly out of our pay even."

Toweling herself off quickly, she salutes the two pilots, "Anyways, for now, I think I'll go cool off and have something to drink. I need to make this more of a routine I think again, like I used to."

[John Slaktare]

Nodding to Yori. "Probably wouldn't hurt. Some folks prolly really need it."

"If you do make it a routine I guess we'll probably see each other around more," he says with a wave.
