[PG1, EE Gianna’s Room] A critical eye (Closed)

[Gianna Rains]

"Other than me getting all my crap out of your room I would say so. I don't even know how I managed to get clothes all over the place I don't do this in my own room. Sorry Gi."

She was almost finished with a second patch.

"How many of these am I putting on Cat? You probably want some on the front and back right?"

"Oh, no Mei, it's fine," Gianna says warmly, channeling her nervousness into starting to pick up some of Mei's clothes. "It, um..." She looks curiously at the sweater that had been set aside. "Did you, uh, make this yourself, Mei?" she asks, reaching out to touch it gently with her fingertips.

[Catherine Maia Hayes]

"Well this is great," Gianna says, hands coming together lightly in front of her. "We, uh, got everyone sorted for the party then?" There's a wide smile on her face, mostly covering a certain anxiety about where this may go with the time-sensitive matters resolved.

"Soon as my top is ready, I'm ready to go for the party." Catherine replies eagerly.

"How many of these am I putting on Cat? You probably want some on the front and back right?"

"Yep. Two in the back and one in the front maybe, right in the middle? That should be enough to hold my Santa top in place and keep it from riding up in zero-G. Two in the back might already be enough for that maybe." The small redhead explains. "It's not that loose."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

The two on the back complete Mei flipped it over to begin work on the front. "Well those are done, if you want to give it a try without the one in the front you can. It will probably look better under other clothes without the front patch but nothing is going anywhere with it. Up to you."

She set it down on her lap and looked up at Gianna to see what she was talking about, immediately blushing and laughing.

"THAT is either a huge waste of time or my secret weapon. I remember seeing them in the windows of fancy shops back home, the ones for nobles only. My mom always wanted one and something about the lines really spoke to me. I took me a year to get the lines right, and I wont shock with with how much the materials cost but I think it looks good in a mirror at least. I spent 25 minutes shaving today just in case I get an excuse to bust it out tonight for someone lucky.

I call it my "Alpha Strike"." She said with a hint of pride.

"I'm tempted to make another one in a different color but having never worn that one for anyone but myself it seems a waste of time and money. Why do you want one?"

I'm not sure the ship or my heart could handle that.

Gianna goes white as the fluffy accents on her dress.

"It... I... Um..." She jerks her hand back like the garment had tried to bite her. "Wha..." She looks over at Cat, knows that won't help, then looks at Mei herself. "So that's, um..." She looks sideways toward the sweater, like it might be getting ready to attack her, then at Mei as she steps closer. "It's..." Her voice is lower, like she's trying to hide something from Cat, but given her inability to form a sentence, it can only draw more attention to what she's doing.

Having watched Mei-Ling's sewing, Catherine is quite willing to defer to the much more skilled judgement. "Uh ... I am fine leaving that up to you, Goo. You know more. If you think having those two in back is enough, I'll trust you. And I could it later for some sort of fairy costume, if we ever have another costume themed party. Plop on wings and done, easy peasy."

And then she watches their discussion regarding the sweater she hadn't noticed before. Nor had she known it was something expensive. It seems to be some source embarrassment for both of them, thus the small redhead opts to remain quiet, even though she is curious about it now.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Yeah give this a try and tell me how it feels, I can always add another if you aren't happy with it." She handed the bra over to Cat with a smile then turned her attention to Gianna.

"I uh..you wanna see it?" She walked over and slide the sweater out of Gianna's grip. "I don't mind, I was going to ask to change into my outfit for the party before leaving anyway." She walked over towards the door where there was a little more room. "But this one is different, you have to look away while I change into it or it will lose it's power. Like lingerie your aren't supposed to see it go on, just how it comes off." She said with a wry smile. "So close your eyes or turn around or something for a second."

Once they had she quickly swapped her dress for the sweater and she tied it around her neck addressed them.

"OK, I'm ready."

Lets see how this goes.



With an uncharacteristic tremble in her voice she said. "How does it look?"

Gianna had felt anxious, a little uncertain about the request to turn. It... This makes sense, though. Cat's here now. This is responsible and good.

When invited, she turns to look and nearly feels her heart stop.

Gianna's mouth opens the slightest amount, like she's going to start speaking and then she's stuck there. Her eyes are wide open and fixed on Mei as her brain spins like a hamster wheel. The... How do... Mes dieux... I... It... Mes dieux...

Finally Gianna gives one sign of life: A hand rises to her temple and she exhales a little raggedly. "Mei... Mes dieux." After another moment, which likely feels like an eternity of uncertainty to Mei, she can see the Canopian start to grin like a fool.

"Yeah give this a try and tell me how it feels, I can always add another if you aren't happy with it." She handed the bra over to Cat with a smile then turned her attention to Gianna.

"Thank you, Goo. I will." Not really knowing what to expect from the sweater, Catherine use the moment to quickly change into the modified bra. If she is not the only one undressing it should be okay. Just like in a locker room. Tugging her sports bra into place and making sure it fits, the small redhead turns around at Mei-Ling's signal.

What she sees is not at all what she would have expected. At first she thinks the look is because Mei-Ling had run out of wool to make this and compromised. Then Catherine remembers the mention of lingerie and realizes that this look is very much on purpose. At this point the inexperienced young Mechwarrior can't help but blurt out, face flushing faintly pink.

"You made a lingerie sweater, Goo?"

"Yeah, kinda I guess, does it look alright? I hope to really wow someone with it some day. You know, the door opens and the first thing they see is this."

She sat down with her legs under her and put on a timid, cutesy face.

"Does it feel comfortable with the patches on there Cat?"
