Wrapping up the party (Pregame 1 LN Storage)

[Alex Kovac]

"It's okay... I... crossed a line I should not have cross... sorry." Alex frowned and moved away slowly. "I keep messing things up and... really just want to help." The sergeant slowly floated away. "I'll let you be." Alex continued to pick up trash quietly.

[GM Yuusha]

"..."

He felt a little torn, but he didn't know what to say.

Finally he calls out. "Hey, have a good 3050."

Then he resumes clean up.

[Charlie Schroeder]

"Not really sure honestly. I'm more the type to let the techs do what they do, and if I want something specific I'll ask. I'm not a mechtech though, so why get in the way?"

Butcher starts collecting chairs to put in storage.

Charlie shrugs. "For some, the Mech is more an heirloom than a machine and all that entails."

After he brings some chairs to where Butcher has been gathering them, he asks, "So, I'm curious, what mech do you pilot?"

[John Slaktare]

"I got my Hatchetman that I earned on Solaris. Need to get some work done on it. I'd like to lighten it up a bit. And get it quicker," he says.

[Charlie Schroeder]

Dale nods appreciatively. "I've always liked the Hatchetman. Something about melee combat is exciting, even it can mean more work for me." He then quirked an eyebrow. "Solaris? You a gladiator? I had some fond times going there with my family when I was a kid."

[John Slaktare]

"Was for a good 5 or 6 years before joining up here. Where were you at before?" he asks.

[Charlie Schroeder]

"Before joining the company, or mercenary work in general?"

[John Slaktare]

"Company was more my curiosity. But if you did mechtech stuff before that, were you military? Or arena?"

[Charlie Schroeder]

Charlie shakes his head. "I love country, but I'd never join the Lyran military. I had just finished college before I joined my brother in the Grave Walkers. A good company, but I couldn't stay with them after I lost him." Charlie shakes his head as if he could get the vision of the aftermath out of his head. "I had been with a small company called Hailey's Raiders. Unfortunately, after Commander Hailey died, her successor began taking the name a little too literally. I got out before they went full pirate."

[John Slaktare]

"Sucks about your brother. Losing folks really screws with you. But you got us now. I ain't the best Angel. Hell, give me a reason and I'll try and break your nose. But I got your back, you ever need it, just like anyone here," he says.

"And the pirate game's a shit one. Good you avoided it. Pay ain't worth the problems."

[Charlie Schroeder]

Charlie nods. "Thanks. Trust me, after that first campaign, I do everything I can to make sure the mechs are in top notch condition. I can't fight, but I'll do what I can to make sure we don't lose anyone else.

"Yeah. I chose the life of a merc. Not a pirate. Besides, I'm afraid of what my sister would do if she discovered I was in a disreputable company."

[John Slaktare]

"Your sister a merc too? Or just home eorryin about you?"

[Charlie Schroeder]

"At home worrying. But that doesn't mean she wouldn't hunt me down if I upset her enough." Charlie laugh because he COULD picture his sister coming down on a battlefield looking for him.

[John Slaktare]

"Oh? She's gonna grab herself a mech, blast her way across the battlefield, then give you an earful?" The words were far more lighthearted than the tone.

"Well, maybe we need someone that tough covering our backs and scaring off the enemy."
