New Year's Eve Feast (Pregame 1 LA Cafeteria)

"N-no, nooo, no, no. I'm fine."

Iria was being her usual self. She waved her free hand left and right.

"Have a nice me-meal ok?"

Alek nodded with a broad smile "alright will do!" Then he put a large hand on her shoulder "and don't work too hard eh? Everyone should have a good time tonight." He said with a wink and clapped her shoulder but not hard enough to disturb the tray.

[Yori Hakamada]

"Your assuming any outfit your wearing doesn't count as a sexy outfit, mechwarrior" The words come from behind Mori as Tanaki passes by, not even looking at her and moves to a seat further down the table.

Mori gasps as Tsuge snorts with laughter.
Tsuge:"Your face! You should see yourself."
Mori: "Tanaki you can't just deliver drive by compliments like that!"

(In Japanese to Yori)
Torashirō: "It is good to see them both smiling."
Yori nods, calmly cutting a pancake into 12 exactly same sized pieces and discarding any with rounded edges "It is. Perhaps that is what the new year holds?"
Her sergeant grunts, unsure either way.

[GM Yuusha]

"R-right!" She responds, smiling ever so slightly.

Then she was moving on to offer party hats, poppers and fortune cookies to the next person.

[Mary Macharu]

"Oh, um, hang on" he said.

Richard went to the buffet and got some of the curry, came back and sat with Mary.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to, um, well,,." He stammered a bit. "What I was really getting at was if there were any traditions or relationships to look out for. Like, I don't know, the CO always sits in a certain spot in the cafeteria, for example, or certain people go out of their way or somehow secretly, but also not secretly have something going on something like that."

Mary looked down in thought.

""the co is like a heavy mech, he sits wherever he wants, sir" she said, her quiet voice just not brining the same humor to the line that others of the company could have provided.

She absentmindedly pulled at a bit of bread.

"the angels are....very diverse, sir. three broken mercenary companies forged into a single one to survive, sir. there are a lot of differences, a cacophony of different languages, but we don't survive without one another, sir." she offered, worried that it sounded trite.

"Very philosophical, Sergant." said Richard, amused. "Now I've peppered you with questions, do you have any questions for me?" he asked, shoveling some curry into his mouth.

[Tanaki]

Mori gasps as Tsuge snorts with laughter.
Tsuge:"Your face! You should see yourself."

He calls over from a little further down the table "I Can't? Why not?"

[Mary Macharu]

"Very philosophical, Sergant." said Richard, amused. "Now I've peppered you with questions, do you have any questions for me?" he asked, shoveling some curry into his mouth.

Mary had a little of the curry herself, though she was much more careful in her bites. Her scars really did not like vigorous activities.

"what would you like people to know about you, beyond your name and rank, sir?" she settled on. It was a very open ended question, but all information was good information.

[GM Yuusha]

A head popped up from under the table beside Tanaki.



"Yeah! Why not?" She calls out enthusiastically in agreement with Tanaki. It was up in the air whether she knew what the conversation was about, but she threw the nobleman a big toothy grin.

"Hmmmm" He thought.

"There are maybe a few things. I was in the AFFC, grew up on Hesperus II and have a ton of comics to call my own. Plus, I can sculpt pretty well, I think." He took a few more bites of curry and continued:
"The Renegade Blackjacks are my favorite band and I watch football from time to time, nothing else comes to mind off the top of my head."

[Tanaki]

"Yeah! Why not?" She calls out enthusiastically in agreement with Tanaki. It was up in the air whether she knew what the conversation was about, but she threw the nobleman a big toothy grin.

Tanaki responds by grabbing something sweet from the middle of the table, and handing it down to his reinforcements while waiting for an answer.

[Mary Macharu]

"Hmmmm" He thought.

"There are maybe a few things. I was in the AFFC, grew up on Hesperus II and have a ton of comics to call my own. Plus, I can sculpt pretty well, I think." He took a few more bites of curry and continued:
"The Renegade Blackjacks are my favorite band and I watch football from time to time, nothing else comes to mind off the top of my head."

Mary considered the new intelligence.

"....what sort of comics, sir?" she asked, the item seeming like a rich topic to explore.

Finishing the dinner, Alex decided to take a leave. The warrior stood up and made an

Butcher went and collected dishes from Alex's and several other spots, returning them to the kitchen.

"....what sort of comics, sir?" she asked, the item seeming like a rich topic to explore.

Oh boy, the gates were opened, the dam broken, the river unleashed.

"So. I have a great collection of comics from all ages e.g. I own the whole 420 issue long series "The Mysteries of Detective Urbie" as the name suggests is about the mechs, with the clue that all mechs are humanized, so they embody a human. Detective Urbie, for example, is a small squat man who is quite clever and can hit hard. In my favorite issue, they clear up a mystery swirling around the legendary fall of the Republic, so of course the Republic is a stand-in for the Star League, but unlike the Star Leauge, the Republic was a democratically elected government that one day fell apart,... in any case, the last log that recorded the last days of the Republic has been missing for a thousand years and there is a massive mystery about where it is. The mystery revolves around different planets with different specifications with grav data, weather, peculiarities and the like. Detective Urbie and his friend Andreas Atlas travel to Solaris to retrieve a piece of the puzzle, which has been distributed on many different data sticks by an old gladiator. However, he was murdered and to find the murderer the two go to the arena and fight together against various opponents, including Urbie's longtime nemesis Mary Marauder. In this fight, the two seriously injure each other and while they are in the infirmary they realize that they have more in common than they have differences. In the course of the story, the two even begin a very heartfelt romance."

Torashirō just opens another beer.

"I would probably prefer dinner first, maybe some dancing.' He pops a piece of fruit in his mouth.

Yori: "What sort of ideas?"
Tsuge, smirking: "Oh you know what sort of ideas."

Yori: "Mori, you are an acceptable dancer."
Tsuge, teasingly: "And you can cook."
Torashirō just takes another swig but does grunt slightly in amusement.
Mori: "Oh my god, my lance is trying to run my dating life. This is hell."
Yori, to Tanaki: "As her commander I must request a short summary of your qualities and why you believe you are an appropriate match for Mori."
Mori mutters something about 'wanting to actually die right now'.

"Mister Tanaki is kind." Annalena weighs in. She held up some of the food as proof.
