New Year's Eve Feast (Pregame 1 LA Cafeteria)

[Tanaki]

Yori, to Tanaki: "As her commander I must request a short summary of your qualities and why you believe you are an appropriate match for Mori."

"Mister Tanaki is kind." Annalena weighs in. She held up some of the food as proof.

Tanaki adds more food to the childs plate in response. "I believe proper etiquette would be to only arrange such things through proxies, as such you may address my social secretary" He nods to his companion. "Miss Anna could you convey to the Left-ten-ant that Lady Rio is quite attractive when she blushes and that suicide is never the answer.'

[GM Yuusha]

That had the small girl puffing out her chest in pride and sitting up straight. She was smiling big time from the attention. "My lord says that Lady Rio is pretty and 'suicide is never the answer'. He likes her." She states quite loudly toward Yori and her group.

Loud enough that a few other folks start looking and paying attention to the conversation. It would soon be a spectacle.

[Mary Macharu]

"....what sort of comics, sir?" she asked, the item seeming like a rich topic to explore.

Oh boy, the gates were opened, the dam broken, the river unleashed.

"So. I have a great collection of comics from all ages e.g. I own the whole 420 issue long series "Detective Urbie and the Blackjack Gang" as the name suggests is about the mechs, with the clue that all mechs are humanized, so they embody a human. Detective Urbie, for example, is a small squat man who is quite clever and can hit hard. In my favorite issue, they clear up a mystery swirling around the legendary fall of the Republic, so of course the Republic is a stand-in for the Star League, but unlike the Star Leauge, the Republic was a democratically elected government that one day fell apart,... in any case, the last log that recorded the last days of the Republic has been missing for a thousand years and there is a massive mystery about where it is. The mystery revolves around different planets with different specifications with grav data, weather, peculiarities and the like. Detective Urbie and his friend Andreas Atlas travel to Solaris to retrieve a piece of the puzzle, which has been distributed on many different data sticks by an old gladiator. However, he was murdered and to find the murderer the two go to the arena and fight together against various opponents, including Urbie's longtime nemesis Mary Marauder. In this fight, the two seriously injure each other and while they are in the infirmary they realize that they have more in common than they have differences. In the course of the story, the two even begin a very heartfelt romance."

Mary closed her eyes for a bit, listening to the lieutenant wax on about his passion, trying to picture the story in her mind. She mused upon how glamorous the ficitional accounts were, how the good guys triumphed in the end and the beautiful antagonist was brought over to the heroes side.

Fantasy was a nice contrast to reality.

She reopened her eyes when the lieutenant stopped talking.

"....it sounds like a wonderful story, sir." she summarized.

[Yori Hakamada]

Tsuge: "No boss he means like-"
Torashirō: "We all like Mori"
Mori, grumbling: "....I don't like any of you."
Sighing and running a hand through her hair
Mori: "Thank you for the message oh...messenger. Tell him it's not suicide but murder on my mind. Also ask his lordship if he can cook so in the future I can escape the cafeteria forever."

[GM Yuusha]

The messenger was being given far too much power. Power corrupted.

"Hmmmmm." She turns to look at Tanaki. "She didn't say please." The girls points out with absolute mischief. "But she said to tell you she's a murderer and that she wants you to cook cause she doesn't like the cafeteria." Anna pointed to the nice food on offer for Tanaki's benefit. She pouts to convey her upset at this terrible assertion. "She isn't very grateful either. Are you sure you like her? Her boss also stares a lot. Could be trouble."

"I can boil water, and grill a steak. But I aint no professional chef like the ones who made this meal. " He adds more food to Anna's plate. "She did say Thank you though, you have to give her at least half credit for that"

[Yori Hakamada]

Yori, neutrally: "I am trouble."
Torashirō clears his throat.
Yori: "We are trouble."

Mori, back to Tanaki and Co: You know my family are all medical so I'm pretty wise to doctors, even if they can grill a steak."

"That's why she can live."

What a charming child.

"Ah, I don't want carrots." She was dismayed to notice the orange terrors now on her plate. Each was forked up and put back where it came from.

There was some laughter from nearby people by this point. Until the Staff Sergeant appeared.

[GM Yuusha]

"Sorry about that." The big man said to the group as a whole before picking Anna up around her waist with one large arm. He collected her plate with the other. "Excuse us."

"I've been looking for you. How did you get in here?"

"The doors were open." Anna smiled innocently.

"The office door too?"

"I'd finished my studying!"

"You better have or no ice cream."

"There's ice cream?! Okay. So. I maaaay not have done the last few questions..."

The pair were soon gone, leaving the bar sadly unmanned.

[Richard Winter]

"One of my favorites," he said, eating some of the curry.
"What are your hobbies like, if you don't mind me asking?"

[Mary Macharu]

Mary looked down a bit.

"ah, i'm sorry sir. i don't really have one i can share....i've been...preoccupied with other maters." she offered. It had taken her awhile to recover from...whatever had happened to her.

Richard took a deep breath.

What was he thinking again? But maybe something would occur to him. Something,....

Richard thought, this took a while until he slapped his hand on the table.

"How would they like to read together once in a while? As a team-building activity, of course. There's not much to do for the next few months anyway, and maybe you''d like it?"

"that is true sir. if you can afford the time, i can be available for such, i am sure sir." she replied, definitely interested in the idea.

"Perfect! Then it's a done deal!" he said happily and began eating the last of his curry.

"Do you want a coffee too?" he asked after he had finished at some point.

[Alison Rodríguez]

For once, Alison hadn't been attention grabbing. She'd been happy to watch and listen, a relatively small plate of food along with a glass of juice being slowly picked at as she did so. Instead of dressing up, she had dressed down (for her standards) in a purple t-shirt that matched her hair, and a pair of black leather pants. She wasn't wearing glasses either for once.

Taking a bite out of a carrot she watched the commotion on one of the tables as a small girl was picked up and carried away in what seemed to be a panic. That made her chuckle.

"Mini-sausage dear?" A kind old woman asks Alison. She had tongs in one hand and a large ceramic plate laden with sausages in blankets in the other.

Blink blink.

"Huh?" She looked up at the woman, taking a few moments before laughing.

"Ahhh! No gracias, unless you've got a non-meat option there" she motioned to her plate of vegetables.

The woman smiled politely. Then she noted the plate of vegetables.

"Not on this plate, but there is a delightful vegetable curry. As good as the real thing."

She points to where it was still being served.

"There was a lot so there should be plenty left."

[Alison Rodríguez]

"Oh there is?"

Alison sat up a little more, looking over at where it was being served.

"Hmm...that's tempting, but I don't eat much and I've got all this already..." she looked at her plate "maybe if I still feel hungry. I can't imagine anything vegetarian will be top of the menu for most here after all. Wait...." she looked up at the woman again.

"..Aren't you a captain? How come you're serving food, feels like people should be getting things for you. Not that I'm ungrateful, just you know. Some are all fussy about ranks."

[GM Yuusha]

"It's new year's eve. Sometimes the leaders have to put themselves out there." Sosanna explained cheerfully. She appeared quite pleased by it. "And it's Senior Captain. You're on my dropship." The merry older woman points out with a good chuckle.

"Anyway, eat up. Don't worry so much dear. Enjoy yourself."

She clapped her tongs together a couple times and winked at the young woman. Then she was off to the next person to offer them mini-sausages.
