Csesztreg III Orbit
Csesztreg distantly orbits its red star. It is the third and furthest from its star, but it is an ideal distance for life to be created and sustained on the Earth-like terrestrial world. Like its two moons, Bajnok and Egylet, you are in orbit of the planet. It is 30% water, with the rest of the surface made up of landmasses or ice. To the delight of many visitors, it is slightly below Earth gravity (0.92 surface gravity), but aside from this and the two moons it is very similar. The atmosphere is breathable, with the tiniest fraction of additional oxygen. Scientists have pointed to this as the reason explosions on planet have been described as particularly violent. Csesztreg has an average temperature along the equator is 14ºC, making it notably colder than Earth. However, it is in an elliptical orbit, meaning there are seasons and therefore changes of temperature year-round. A year is roughly 362 days, which means the the days are slightly longer. Nonetheless, a local year is divided up into twelve months that are similar in temperature to that of Earth. Like many worlds, although they have their own planetary calendar, the majority of people remain aware of the current Earth date and time to provide a common reference point with those from off-planet.

Csesztreg is currently controlled by the Free Rasalhague Republic (FRR). This means it uses the Bear-Krona, often simply called the Krona, as its primary currency. It has been under FRR control since the formation of the Republic in 3034, which has led to Swedish being one of the most spoken languages on the planet. However, its primary languages are Hungarian, which was due to the majority of its original settlers being Hungarian, and English. Historically, the planet was settled for its vast expanses of heavy metals. Under the ground various valuable heavy metals can be found, leading to the planet being most associated with mining and metal refineries. Historically these metals were a key component of Lyran industry, but it wasn't until the Jamerson-Ulikov water purification technique was perfected that Csesztreg could be safely inhabited. Until then the allure of these prized metals and the importance of the industry had endangered many, as they could wreak havoc on the human body. Fortunately, the purification technique meant that the planet's water was safe to drink for some centuries... at least, until the Succession Wars.

Unusually for a planet so far from Earth and due entirely to its resources, Csesztreg's original colony expanded rapidly: the planet reached economic independence within a scant three decades. The prominence of the planet's heavy metal exports and its lack of heavy industry to generate weapons of war allowed it to prosper, even during the chaotic era of the Succession Wars. The lack of heavy industry didn't lure raiding parties, while the heavy metals were vital to Lyran weapon manufacturers. This meant that many kroner flowed into the coffers of Csesztreg. Even so, the planet's wealth has not been reinvested much into its maintenance. Unfortunately, the water purification plants have been failing since the Succession Wars started, and after the Draconis Combine took the world late in the Third Succession War, this process accelerated. Under FRR control, it should be noted that many dissidents and political prisoners from Rasalhague were imprisoned on the world, sentenced to work in the mines. Most of these dissidents die before the end of their sentences, either in mining accidents or from heavy metal poisoning. Only major population centres have regular access to drinking water. While the water is safe to swim in, it is not advised to drink any.

Culturally, the planet is a mix of Hungarian and other Eastern European and some Northern European cultures. There are multiple continents, with the largest named Somogy having the planet's Capital City of Budapest. However, your planned landing is on the smaller continent of Akos, which has some Greek elements. As mentioned, Hungarian, English and Swedish are the three most spoken languages. These are followed closely by Japanese, due to the planet's Kuritan years, German from its time as a Lyran world and its connections with Lyran traders, and Greek. Many planetary citizens can speak three or more languages, which is a source of pride to its people. Although the main continent has the majority of the planet's resources and therefore mines and industry, the continent of Akos is not without its own. The world has a population of just over 13 million, but it plays host to many visitors, particularly to Akos which has its own spaceport. Locals and wealthy foreign guests flock to the large island in the warmer months. They come to enjoy the ocean, beautiful natural and mostly untouched landscapes and to do winter sports in the hills and mountains. Skiing, basketball, soccer and fishing are common hobbies. Due to the planet's large bird population, bird watching is also notably popular. Many of the birds are migratory and they come in all sizes, colours and shapes.
