Battletech: Planet's Fall

Butcher was in the bar drinking a soda water with lime. He was sitting at the bar and looking at a screen showing news about the conflict.

Alex was looking pretty nice after a spa day but the penguin hated storms. Rico would bring Alex's dress and shoes later so the penguin could change. For now Alex sat next to John and ordered a drink. "John..." raising the glass and drinking its contents.

Butcher raised his own glass. "Alex. Had a nice day I hope? Mei-Ling said you two were gonna have some fun."

"I guess..." Alex swirled the drink. "We just got our hair done and makeup. I asked for something light because something harsh itches."

"It looks good Alex. You look real nice," Butcher compliments. It's not overly emotional or excited, but he never is. "Really beautiful."

"Um... thank you..." Alex said awkwardly. "I hate stormy days... I guess it was about time for the weather to come around."

"It's been pretty rough on the folks with prosthetics. Was messing with Richard's arm earlier during training," he says with a nod. "I'm guessing Mei-Ling had issues too."

"Yeah... her leg did act up but not that badly." The pilot chuckled. "Well at least the pedicure went nicely."

"That's great. How have you been doing? You seem a bit more upbeat tonight than you have been the last couple times I saw you. Im glad to see that."

"I kind of took the day off." Alex smiled. "I am keeping some promises so... I am happy about that." The pilot smiled.

"That is great. I'm glad to see you smiling. It makes me happy to see my friends smiling," he replies with a nod. "What promises are you keeping?"

"New year's... I know... I know... It has been months... I have been busy." Alex sighed. "I promised Cat a strawberry short cake... and lost a bet to Rico. So today I pay up." Alex giggled. "You will see."

"Well, I'll look forward to the surprise then. Strawberry shortcake? Been so long since I had that. Amazing with fresh whipped cream. But what dessert isn't," he says with a nod.

"Few months is a long time to go to wait for a kept promise though. Glad you got to do so."

"Whipped cream is really nice. I like it in coffee." Alex nodded. "Put things in order if I am to leave...you know."

"Are you thinking about leaving?" John sounds a bit surprised, but not very. Sometimes folks moved on.

"Not really... I hate stormy nights." Alex asked for another drink of whiskey. "Bad omens and nights come with storms like this... you know." The warrior was somewhat crestfallen as the young person sighed.

"I always liked storms. Cause they're alive and dangerous. They're like the planet showin its anger or frustration. It's all the energy being released in bursts of fury. Like the storm is a voice telling everyone to pay attention. Which probably sounds strange."

"They scare me... John... and I probably won't sleep tonight." Alex emitted closing eyes as the pilot realized that coming to the bar might have not been a good idea.

"Sorry to hear that," Butcher replies. "I hope you don't have a hard time getting to sleep. Maybe the storms'll calm down or something later? But they won't do anything to us in here at least."

"I hope so... I'll ask Mickey to stay the night... I don't wish to be alone tonight." Alex stated. "I would ask Rico but..." Alex shook the head. "I don't want to worry him."
