"In a roundabout way."

He listens as Klaus uses some fancy language. Some of it seemed gibberish to him. "I see." He waits for something concrete.

Laks also wonders what Klaus is on about. She understands the word, but...

"Eto... do you have any mech supplies we could purchase? We're less interested in other supplies, but we're open to offers, whether food or ammunition. We'd also like to hear more about your capabilities."

[GM Yuusha]

"Limited." He laughs and gestures around them. "We do some guerrilla attacks on the Militia and we try to make them feel unwelcome when they visit town. There's a reason they withdrew from here so quickly. Hmm. Mech supplies. We have access to a couple of industrial mechs and a Quasit Militiamech, but that's all. We can barely keep them running. That said, we do pick up some spare parts now and then. Liberated deliveries and such. We have a few mech weapons in a poor state of repair. None of us are mechtechs. You could look them over. However, food we can do. Raw materials, ammunition and spying, yes. Sabotage, fine. We have used bombs before, but it's very risky. We'd only do so on military sites."

He sweeps his hands out and smiles.

"You now know what we can offer to help our liberators and the Lyran state. We heard from Mr. Amasi that you're keeping the Militia busy across Akos. Good. We'd like to assist, but there aren't many of us. It would be nice if had your own convert forces you could use."

[Lakshmi Kaala]

Laks claps her thighs. "We'll definitely have a look at what you've got lying around. We'll agree a price for what interests us and pay in Cbills. We might have need of your other services in the future. Today I mostly wanted to make contact."

She looked to Klaus to see what else he might like to go over. He'd mentioned some thoughts before, but it seemed he needed to be clearer and to touch them one at a time.

Poor John was stuck being the muscle.

Butcher didn't mind being an outside observer, particularly if nobody was calling him out for being too dumb to contribute. But he also figured he'd throw what he could offer in the ring.

"Well, if you need someone born and raised Rasalhague, I'm from New Bergen. Would prolly be able to pass as a Rasalhague local if you need that. Though I ain't some skilled spy, so my uses would be pretty limited."

[GM Yuusha]

"A lot you can do with someone willing. I'll bear it in mind, err..." He'd forgotten the man's name, although he did look kind of familiar.

[John Slaktare]

"John or Butcher, either works," he says with a shrug.

[GM Yuusha]

"John's less likely to scare my neighbours so John it is."

Laks gets the conversation back on track and soon some particulars are being discussed. The Angels could provide some funds in exchange for goods and information, modern infantry weapons and perhaps a mech or two, for the town's security of course, if Wulfgang's group could help them with some things in return. The exact particulars needed to be decided.

"Well if you are worried about payment..."

Klaus thinks on the avenue of how he would like to use these fine folks and how they can be paid under the table.

"We are contractually obligated to itemize all of our salvage operations. Unfortunately, it takes us a while to be able to ensure the safety of the region after an acquisition. We have not been able get down to the actual work until the following day. The only way I could imagine that someone could get there quicker, before we begin our work would be if they were there in advance...I mean, everyone can see an intact mech, but I am sure there are so many goodies that could be missed.

John stays quiet for the rest of the meeting, just hanging out next to Lakshmi and looking pretty... pretty scary. He doesn't have a great deal to contribute to this level of negotiation.

[GM Yuusha]

It was a very underhanded suggestion. Naturally, Laks pretended she hadn't heard it. That would make her life much simpler.

Wulfgang gives it serious consideration however. "We haven't got a mech size salvage vehicle anyway, but we do have trucks... we could visit attack sites to help, but the AFFC... well, I'm sure they'd pay us even more to inform them about this. So, that might not be such a good idea. We'd rather do something that helps you help them. If it's taking some payment from certain places ourselves, that's different. Small arms, perhaps some hover vehicles or APCs..."

He claps his hands together. "Tell you what, if you're willing to give us access to a site then we'll do some intelligence gathering for you. Just let us know where and give us a couple of days. What do you think about that as a starting point?"

[Klaus von Zinzer]

Klaus nods. "I believe I can do that."

[Lakshmi Kaala]

"I'll see that you get some details after we've done what we need to then Wulfgang. In return, we'd like more details on... would you say Ninovo or Jericho prison Klaus?"

[Klaus von Zinzer]

"Jericho, I would say." Klaus nods mostly to himself. "I'd rather that we have every advantage there and not use it by choosing a softer target than the other way around. If you can see any sites for sabotage on defenses or an easier escape route for prisoners I would prioritize that"

[GM Yuusha]

"Then... we'll wait to hear from you and we'll see what we can do."

Wulfgang gets up and gestured to the door. "Shall I show you our finer items? Jewellery, was it?"

[John Slaktare]

John nods at that. "Yeah."

[GM Yuusha]

Laks hops up and heads out first. She spots the man from earlier with someone else on the warehouse floor. It was nice to have some height for once. She sighs as she realised she was about to go down the stairs and lose it.

"Oh well..."

She heads down first with Wulfgang taking the rear and closing his office door behind him. He then moves to the front and shows the group the way through to a small room in the corner of the large building. Flicking on the overhead lights he is all smiles as he moves out the way.

Art, statues, vases and jewellery boxes. The contents of the room looked like they'd come off the back of a couple of lorries. Wulfgang points to a glass display cabinet that was two thirds full of jewellery. Mostly for women, but a few items for men. There were some separate lady's products too in an adjacent glass display stand - unopened perfume boxes, a couple of hand mirrors, a makeup box, multiple handbags and shoes.

"With a bit more I thought we might open a tourist shop in the mall. Have a look around." Wulfgang offers.

Butcher makes for the jewelry case and looks at the different pieces. Not entirely sure what he's looking for.

Laks wanders over to help.

"Any colours she often wears or jewellery she already has? Do you know if she prefers silver, gold or something else?"

She points to the rings. "Best to avoid them, especially if you don't know her size." Then the earrings. "Too many options and the few mechwarriors I know who wear them have to be extra careful. They can be very painful if your cockpit really heats up and you've forgotten to take them off." She steps to the side to indicate the bracelets and necklaces. "Bracelets and bangles are easy to put on or take off. They also go with a lot of clothes. Does she wear any? Ano... necklaces and pendants are more intimate. You can wear them over clothes or hide them, so you can can do more with them as a gift. A few of these would work nice with an engraving if you wanted to add some words. There are different meanings in different cultures for the gemstones or pendant types too." She indicates one of two lockets. "And there are lockets that can be used to house a keepsake. A picture, usually, but not always. How's that, helpful?" Laks waits for some praise.
