Torutovy
A historic mining town turned tourist hot spot in the hills of Central Akos. Torutovy was founded soon after Akos was settled. Many of the locals can trace their lineage back to Lyran colonists. Many of the locals speak German as a result. Compared to those early days, the mining economy of Torutovy is now much diminished and changed. It has been forced to rely on tourism. The quarries that are still active in Central Akos are much further away from this town, which has dug up most resources of worth. Nonetheless it had a Militia garrison and supply base due to its central location. This was abandoned soon after the invasion started. In winter Mount Torutovy, which towers over the town, is popular with winter sports enthusiasts. In the warmer months it is popular with hikers. The town itself has a clear divide between the affluent tourist areas and the poorer residential areas. It has a small hospital and sheriff's department, as well as a mall that is busy throughout the year. The outskirts of the town are mostly farmlands. Apparently there was a battle here in the Third Succession War, although details are scant. The nearby Jericho prison is a source of anger and resentment for many of the townsfolk. Small wonder the garrison was once rather large.

Mount Torutovy
A beautiful peak with scenic views of the town and surrounding hills and mountains, Mount Torutovy is the pride and joy of the locals. According to local legend the mountain was named after the first mayor of then unnamed town. This led to the town's naming as well. Whether this is true or not, the mountain is the main draw for visitors and tourists throughout the year. Currently there is only snow on the peaks. It is possible to access them and lower regions with a cheap cable car service that only ceases to run at night. The fee for all day usage is only 1 C-Bill.

Neumark Mall
Often just called Neumark, this mall is on the edge of the wealthier tourist half of town. It is a two-storey building in the shape of an infinity symbol. One half has fashionable shops, boutiques and the like, while the other is dedicated to entertainment facilities and restaurants. The arcade is especially popular, including two simulation pods for head to head matches, along with a screen for onlookers to enjoy the action. Neumark has practically everything a shopper could want and it is open all day.

The Y Mall is open EM to LE.

Werbury Cafe
The most highly regarded food shop in all of Torutovy, going by popular word of mouth, is not a restaurant or pub. It is in fact a cafe. Werbury Cafe is a quaint little tea, coffee and cake shop. There is a small sandwich, baguette and salad menu for those looking for something savoury. With reasonable prices and a timeless ambiance, Werbury has a steady flow of customers from morning to evening.

Werbury Cafe is open EM to EE.

Schantz' Antique Shop
A strange little antique shop near the mall. It has been here longer than anyone can remember. The front room has ever changing goods on display. The backroom and adjoining warehouse have vastly more. Although it is called an antique shop, the owner dabbles in nearly everything, so it is possible to find all kinds of items, including vegetables, gem stones and the latest Solaris Arena vids. He stays open late, but he refuses to open in the mornings.

Schantz' Antique Shop is open EA to LE.

Torutovy Outskirts
The farmlands and woods on the outskirts of Torutovy are still slightly covered in snow. Many different crops can be found across the various patches of land that stretch on for a couple of miles in every direction out from the town proper. It is said that the Combine battled Lyran defenders somewhere here over a century and a half ago, but the town had been evacuated so there are precious few records about that period. Once popular with metal detectors, it now only has visitors who either enjoy walking or buying fresh produce. The leaks and turnips are said to be especially good.

Nunu's Bar
Nunu’s is a local dive bar in between the residential and tourist areas. Thick walls and a heavy door struggle to lock in the sounds of drunken merriment and booming music from a jukebox in the evenings. A long bar dominates the space with booths opposite it, while a small dance area and door leading to a smoking patio take up the a far corner. A large jovial man works alone in a late night kitchen serving up burgers, fries, wings and a surprisingly good salad. Normally patronized by an older local crowd, on the weekends waves of younger people come and go as they bounce around the local bars. This leads to a jumbled mix of music as different generations vie to hear their favourite tunes. The bar is quieter in the afternoons.

Nunu's Bar is open EA to EN.
