Butcher was out with Magician, waiting outside the base for Aleksander to join him. He was showing her how he counter balances with this axe during kick maneuvers to stabilize.

Alek rolled up in the new assault class mech, it was a little slower than the Dragon was but not by much and was quite a bit heavier. A much smaller cicada with a grumpy Whip in it came up along side him.
"Ay Butcher, Magician. Ready for a boring walk along the country side?" He asked as they met up and readied to move out.

"I hope that saying it'll be boring dooms us to some excitement. Not that I'm superstitious, but excitement is better than boredom," Butcher says.

Taking a slightly wider route for their patrol, John, Alek and Co end up pausing at the top of a hill overlooking a sprawling structure surrounded by vehicles and open grass.

"Got a building up ahead Fist. Looks like it's probably civilian. Should we greet our neighbors?" he asks.

Alek nodded as he looked at the complex "definitely. Wonder how this place has gone unnoticed this whole time. It's a whole complex and we've been here what? Almost two weeks? Crazy."
He spurred his Mech forward "Let's go say hi."

The patrols had been across hundreds of miles of open country. It wasn't too surprising to find a hamlet here and there.
When the four mechs descend from the hill the complex starts to come alive. A few people run out to cars or behind cover. A few of the cars get switched on. It seemed the locals viewed the mysterious four black mechs as trouble.

John paused and held up a mech hand like a wave. He wasn't looking for any trouble, but he was watching for it.

A few individuals now had small arms raised and pointing at the mechs, but some did lower their weapons slightly. The lance was still being watched with a great deal of suspicion.
A garage door began to rise revealing a pair of rumbling four wheel drive vehicles with machine guns mounted to the back.

John simply hoped they didn't think it would be a good idea to try and fight. Four mechs vs a compound with no military support was a massacre, not a fight.

Alek put up both his Mech hands in a 'we mean no harm' manner his voice coming from the Mech "Hello friends! No need for so much caution we mean no harm to you." Alek's voice was stress free and friendly.
He wasn't really worried even should they open fire their machine guns didn't really pose much of a threat to the mechs.

There is no immediate response. Or, at least, none any of the pilots hear. It wasn't like they'd be able to pick up someone speaking or even shouting at them from afar too well. However, after a few tense moments the speakers around the facility come to life.
"This is Elijah Graham Mills and you're standing outside the Glory of His Light's Sacred Temple. Are you here to join our righteous cause and to give worship to He Who is Divine?" Is roughly what Alek and John make out from the male voice. There's a strong country accent neither can quite place that makes it a little difficult, although more so for Aleksandr than John.

Alek frowns a little trying to parse out what the man is saying but gets the jist of it, he goes over comms "I mean I'm not much for religions, how about you guys?"
Whip just sighed as she rolled her eyes and sat back in her mech as a response.

"I... don't not believe? Wasn't real big at home but it was part of home," he replies over comms.
Butcher turns on his speakers so he can reply.
"We're participatin in the war that's happenin. Just happened on the place while on patrol. Wanted to check in on you to avoid any misunderstandins or mishaps, Mr Mills."

There's a delay before the speakers kick in again. "That's kind of you, but we're not part of the war. Secular things like that are outside our concern, but we do respect warriors who fight for their beliefs. What unit are you from soldier?" He seemed to be under the impression they were from the Lyran military.

"John Slaktare with the Obsidian Angels, mercing for AFFC. Just trying to make sure we don't cause any problems for civilians in the area. We can let our folks know you're out here and noncombatants," John says over the speakers. He wasn't worried about hiding his identity. Not like there were a lot of hatchet wielding mechs running around after all.

Alek's mech waved "and I am Aleksandr Korolov also of the Angels." Came his voice over his speakers. John seemed to be doing well enough so far so he didn't feel the need to interject further.

"..." There's no immediate response again, but there is some clamour from the compound defenders. They've all lowered their weapons not. A few are chatting to each other in excitement.
"We don't usually approve of mercenaries." The speakers respond finally. "However, we all acknowledge the prophecies and wisdom of Prophet Summerfield. He wrote more than a century ago. His prophecies have guided us to the true path of Light. Dozens have manifested themselves as the truths of the universe. One spoke of warrior Angels. That four Angels clad in black would herald the end times."
The chatter from the followers became much, much more frenzied and excited.
"You are welcome here, Aleksandr and John, each named after the Disciples of millennia ago. Do you come with further news?"

He turns the speakers off for a moment and talks over the comms to the other Angels.
"Stepped into someone's prophecy I guess. What next?" he sounds a bit lost.
Magician speaks up, "I have no clue. You had to bring me out today, didn't you?" She sighs audibly.

Alek thinks for a moment and over their comm channel responds "I heard somewhere wisdom about if someone asks you if you're a God you say yes. Same logic could apply here. Plus who knows maybe we are heralds of the end times." He says with a chuckle
