Butcher was joined by Spider as the pair headed out to join their patrol partners for the day. Getting used to working with others would probably help.

Alex and Michael made their way to help in the patrol of this day. Mickey was getting used to the new Assassin that Alex helped repair. "Kowalsky reporting in, Butcher."

"Good to have you along, Kowalski, Mickey. Let's see what's out there. Ready?" he replies over comms.

"I have nothing in my radar so it seems like a good day to have a stroll." Alex nodded. "Confirming radar activities Kowalsky." Mickey replied.

"Seeing no activity here," Spider says, his locust moving slowly compared to its normal pace.

"Confirmed," Butcher agrees. "Going for a walk it is."

"Kappa, how does the Assassin feel?" Alex asked the other Penguin.

"Kind of weird... after so much training in the Urbie, I am a bit out of touch." Mickey replied a bit worried.

"Then is a good thing that we are in the clear." Alex affirmed. "We should continue to walk forward."

"Copy that." Mickey nodded.

"Spider, Butcher, how are you?" Alex asked

"Doing ok. Just keeping an eye out for maybe a bit rougher terrain to scout through to get some handling practice."

"Mickey, are you ready for rough terrain?" Alex was a bit worried that Mickey may not be too used to the change in gyros and balance of the mech.
"I think so... I think I can manage to walk out of the mud." The Penguin nodded as he stepped in a muddy puddle.
"You will have to clean your mech if you keep getting into those muddy puddles." Alex laughed.

"Nothing too it. We don't have to go too rough for now. But better to get used to it now so it ain't a problem in combat later," John says.

It was remarkably peaceful out. The sun on the melting snow made it shine at the right angles.

"Roger that, Butcher." Mickey replied. "Seems that things are getting warm." Mickey's eyes glistened looking at the shiny snow melting as the sun hit it.

"Do you need to cool your mech, Kappa?" Alex was worried that the cooling mechanism was faulty since the warrior trusted the techs and also forgot to do that check before.

"I am fine, I am fine." The penguin chuckled.

John moves to pick out a bit of rough terrain over uneven ground, where melting runoff was making the ground slick and muddy.

"Watch the center of gravity on your mech. Slippery ground is more likely to give way and lose traction."

"I wonder what kind of wild life live around here..." Alex thought out loud.

Mickey was starting to get the hang of walking in the mud.

"It seems that is going to be a slow day huh." Alex remarks

"Well, probably not too much right now. The patrols and combat probably have all the wild animals running," John replies.

Spider is being very careful, but his locust is quick so he doesn't have a hard time keeping up.

Mickey seemed to have the hang of it. "I thing we have a go for tougher terrain."

"Excellent... Butcher lead the way."

"Right," he says checking his holomap. He identified a nearby stream in a small valley within their patrol area. He led the way there eventually getting to the shore. It was a pretty wide stream, slow moving, and the shores were loose and steep.

"Water here's not deep, but try to keep out of it while following."

Mickey nodded and followed. He used the jumpjets to skip the stream. "Nice work Kappa!" Alex smiled as the other penguin is starting to get the hang of the jumpjets. The landing wasn't that smooth almost toppled but the penguin had adapted to the new gyros to prevent the mech from falling.

"Definitely going to move a lot easier than the UrbanMech," Butcher says. In comparison, Spider doesn't have any jump jets so he just runs along the stream in his Locust.

Alex nodded as the heavy crusader had to get a running start to jump over the stream. Not the most gracious jump but get across.

Butcher followed on the locust's side of the stream.

"Follow the stream for a bit, stay on the waters edge, and keep your footing."
