D2 EM-LM Patrol

Post by Richard Winter » Tue Jan 11, 2022 9:16 am

The roar and whir of the engines and acutators went through the plains of south arkos. A Vulcan and a Javelin, along with two other mechs, trudged through the terrain, (hopefully) keeping their eyes open.

"How's your new one, kid?" Alpha asked through comms.

"Can't complain, I still need to adjust the response times of the control a bit, still a bit too sluggish for me." Richard replied and checked the scanners, so far everything was quiet. "Did you talk to Jester, Old man?"

"Yup, the guy still prefers to make jokes than talk about things. He's a tea kettle about to burst and an idiot, but you won't let me knock any sense into him." he replied annoyed.

""First of all, you gave up the command, so it's your own fault that you can't do what you want anymore. Second: I don't think beating up Jester will solve any of his problems. Maybe we should just drag him to the doc. He can hardly defend himself against you and me".

"Urgh, as if every doc is also a shrink. If he doesn't even want to talk to us, why would he want to talk to a complete stranger?".

"Maybe just because of that. We can give it a try, can't we?"

An audible groan went through the comms. "Yessir, Grand Commander Kid, sir."

Richard laughed at the old man's frustration. "Let's get back to patrolling, old man," he said with a laugh over the radio.

It was quiet. There was a lot of snow and a good number of birds. The former went crunch and the latter squawked as they shot out of trees in fright.

There was no sign of the enemy. No sign of life even. It was an undisturbed wilderness.
