Back in the Saddle (D10 Patrol EM-LM)

[GM Yuusha]

"No, but... it's day time." The girl was even younger than Anna. Ezmeralda's tone was working. "I'm Paula. W-Who are you?"

[Ezmeralda]

"Hi Paula. I'm Ezmeralda," she repeated patiently, "We are with the Obsidian Angels."

"Well, it will be night before you get to Torutovy," she gestured towards the mechs, "We could get you there faster and safer from... whatever critters are out there." She had a moment where she pondered what sort of creatures might be seeded on this planet. Wolves, wild dogs, large cats, coyotes, bears, something actually local?

[Yori Hakamada]

"Yes, you are less likely to be attacked by a bear inside a mech."
Yori offered helpfully from her own machine.

[GM Yuusha]

"There aren't real bears." Both pilots might have recalled the planet didn't have anything more than small mammals and birds.

"Erm, what if you're bad guys?" She remained cautious.

[Ezmeralda]

"Do we look like bad guys?" asked the lady in front of 4 jet black giant robots, "We can help you get off this dangerous road." She smiled enthusiastically.

[GM Yuusha]

"No, but... your mechs are..." She tried to find the right words. "They're a bit scary."

She adjusts her backpack. "You promise you'll take me to Torutovy?"

[Yori Hakamada]

Yori and Torashirō's mechs exchange a glance.

Torashirō: "Uhh yeah. Definitely not bad guys. We're the opposite at the moment, good guys."

[Ezmeralda]

"What a cute teddy bear!" Ez said trying to draw attention away from the black mechs, "I promise I'll take both of you to Torutovy. You can travel in my mech."

[GM Yuusha]

"He's John." She plucks him out of where she'd strapped him to hold the teddy up for Ezmeralda to see. "Erm, how much is it?"

[Ezmeralda]

"Hi John," she said patting the bear's head, "How much is what?"

[GM Yuusha]

"The cost. To town." She struggled to explain. Wasn't there always a cost? She fished a purse out of her backpack that was too large and mature for such a young girl.

[Ezmeralda]

"Oh! No, I don't really need to charge. Um, if you want to offer me something that's fine but I am going there anyways," she tried to explain although the purse did seem odd to her.

[Yori Hakamada]

Torashirō with stern mech sounds "Paula, is that purse yours?"

[GM Yuusha]

The girl nods and puts away the bear so she can struggle to unclasp the purse. She fishes out a few paper notes. They were the local currency of Bear-Krona. She holds them up toward Ezmeralda. "Here."

She jumps as a new voice chimes in. A stern voice. She trembles a bit, her fright from earlier returning. "I-It's my mom's."

[Ezmeralda]

"Thank you for your custom," she said taking the bills, "Now follow me and hold on tight while we go up." She lead her over to the auto-ladder.

[GM Yuusha]

Grabbing her backpack after handing Ezmeralda thirty Bear-Krona, the girl hurries after Ez and looks to her for what to do next. "Yes." She grabs hold of Ezmeralda's leg as she's told to hold on tight.

[Yori Hakamada]

Torashirō grumbles something about today's youth as he and Yori continue to keep an eye on things.

[Ezmeralda]

"Up we go!" she places a hand on the girl and hits ascend. They are shortly up in her cockpit.

"Okay this might be slightly cramped but hopefully we wont get in a fight or anything," she said taking her seat and finding a space for Paula.

[GM Yuusha]

Paula had held on tight. She was curious inside the mech, but reserved. Still a little cautious. There was a foldout chair Ez could have her use. She was thankfully very small. It'd be easy enough to put her backpack into a compartment.

Paula looks extensively around the cockpit from where she was sitting. All the controls and lights were practically hypnotic. She points to one of them that was flickering. It was the open cockpit warning.

[Ezmeralda]

She tucked the backpack away. "So your mom gave you her purse, huh?" Easy flicked some switches to get the mech back up and running.

"Alright, kid is tucked away. Lets move," she called through the comms, "Can we try and avoid tight turns?"
