Pick a target part 4 Discussion (D10 LA Event Headquarters and Briefing Room)

(Optional)
This was the second meeting for where to attack in Zone Two, Central Akos. There were three remaining military targets. Once more a map of the area was displayed. Basic information and updated intelligence on each site soon followed. Attending lance leads or representatives, along with key support personnel, were encouraged to discuss the information, ask questions and make suggestions over where to strike next.
Would it be target A, B or C?
(This is the thread for discussion)

Butcher, as always, was present. He might not be the most capable or prolific strategist but he would at least listen so he could filter things down to the people that report to him. He drinks some water from a bottle and pays attention.

Catherine is quite diligent -- at least in this regard -- and appears to every briefing in person, rather than sending an underling.
Seeing John, the small redhead gives him a quick smile and a little wave, before sitting with Lakshmi, like she always does.

The Captain looks bored and lifeless. She gives a quiet "hey" to Cat, but otherwise she doesn't do or say much. She wanted to get back outside.

Alex has been convinced to go to this briefing. Noah said no to coming back to them. The young warrior took a seat and sighed. The storm outside was loud and Alex didnt like them.

Klaus greets everyone.
"Excellent work everyone. The results from the last engagement outstripped all expectations."
He looks at the notepad.
"Unfortunately, our projections on the salvage are behind"

Charlie was there. "I'm not sure what would be the best choice. The prison is tempting political prisoners can often be a rewarding proposition. But salvage is also good." It's clear he is undecided and is willing to let himself be swayed one way or the other.

Richard was present and greeted the people who were arriving one by one. When it looked like everyone was there he spoke, "Looks like we've made a great contribution so far," he nodded, "For the fact that the AFFC doubted us in the beginning, didn't they Lord Guttenberg?"

"The prison is the only target we know well." Alex commented. "I still think Ninovo could be a good choice even though we don't have the full scenario." Alex pointed to none in particular.

"If that was true we would not have hired you." Kurt responds diplomatically.

"We might as well hit the easier target as we're doing well. It'll also make a good staging ground. Long distance operations increase the risk."

"If they got repair facilities there, its useful for extending mech ranges right?" John asks.

"It wouldn't hurt, let's put it like that, but the risk is more about using a dropship to move multiple lances one at a time. It's too slow."

"Our contract says otherwise and ask for us to strike the prison and make a bigger riot over here in Akos. Even with the victory at the camp they might want us to up the ante." Alex sighed.

Steffen lifts a bushy eyebrow. "Contract only says we need to keep the Militia occupied. It doesn't mention specific targets. What the AFFC would prefer us to attack and what we are obligated to do are entirely different Alex."

"The Staff Sergeant is right. The AFFC have sent messages that I can summarise as them being very pleased with our efforts of late. Since the attack on Budai and the Southern Barracks they've come around."
Eric glanced at Kurt who says nothing to the contrary. He therefore continues.
"So, we may as well minimalize our current risk and strengthen ourselves with more salvage. We're going to need it when the time comes to push to Northern Akos. That's where the main Akos Militia Barracks and headquarters is."

Klaus nods. "To be honest, it rankles me to leave Lyran prisoners a moment longer than they need to be. However, there is no indication that they are in any danger."
"Had we more time to thoroughly strip the barracks, we might have the strength. But we didn't and don't. We are about to assault a the heart of the enemy strength, I believe that at this point solidifying ours is the best option."

"They are more likely to be Lyran sympathisers than actual Lyran citizens. Those get deported, ransomed or exchanged unless they're a spy, and then they wouldn't be put so close to the border." Lakshmi states with a hint of boredom. "Attacking the prison might even put them in more danger or cause a prison riot that causes more complications. Who keeps the actually violent criminals locked up after we drive off the prison staff? Us." She huffs unhappily. "No thank you."

"The problem I can see is if they decide to reinforce the prison after we strike Ninovo... I don't know..." Alex sighed.
