Moving Day (D9 LE Mei's Room)

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei shuffled around the room with a box in her hands Half the contents of her normally stuffed closet lay on her bed next to another box labeled SHOES.

"Pills, shampoo, conditioner, hair and nail kit, lotions, ring-light mirror, what am I forgetting?"

[Yoko Lee]

There was a knock at Mei's door as she was thinking; It was a light knock on the frame of the door, a sort of polite knock that was usual in certain parts of the Combine.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei dropped the box on her bed and wiped her hair back as she walked to the door and opening it.

"Hello? Oh hey Yoko, come on in. I've been wanting to catch up with you for a while how have you been?"

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko gives a small bow of her head before walking in briskly, pacing around. She seems to be wearing PJs, yellow things with fluffy looking chickens on them, as well as some fuzzy striped thigh socks under the PJ shorts.

"Busy, busy. I wanted out of my room for a bit as I was getting ready for bed, and I decided to look for someone I could talk with. And I realized we'd not caught up since the landing. All the more a shame with all the gossip going around."

Mei shut the door and gestured her guest to a seat then made her way over to the closet and pulled out a bottle of wine.

"You've got great timing I could definitely use a break, you want something to drink?"

Already assuming the answer would be yes she grabbed two glasses and moved to sit on the bed across from the chair.

"Gossip ehh, what'cha got?"

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko flopped down onto the bed, putting her hands out behind her and spreading her legs, making herself comfortable with the invitation, "Well, I mean, I suppose the place to start would be with relationships. Who knew love would bloom so much in such stressful situations? I mean, it happens all the time in movies, but I didn't think it would in real life. Especially with how professional and orderly the Angels actually do things; All chain of command and not a lot of chest beating or scare tactics."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Yes, relationships. Well I only know of two, Yori and Richard though that is maybe kinda complicated right now on account of her getting shot while on a date with him...their first date." She said pouring a glass and handing it to Yoko. "Did you know she has people fill out a survey before dating or fucking them? Wild shit, I love it she's so great."

[Yoko Lee]

"I heard about the survey, straight from Richard's mouth. Didn't know it had anything to do with the horizontal mambo, if you'll forgive the euphemism. He said something about a date, but he didn't seem too concerned..."

A shrug.

"If anyone can handle being shot, it's Yori though. You said two though? You thinking about Tessa Wentworth and that Klaus guy from tactical?"

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"N-no I hadn't head about that I meant me and John." She gestured around the room in disarray. "With how fast the rumors about us started I guess I just assumed that everyone knew he had asked me to move in with him. It's uh...really serious, we've talk about the future and everything, he's amazing." She said glowingly.

[Yoko Lee]

Blink... blink blink.

"Um... who... who is John? I don't know anyone in the Angels with the name, personally."

Yoko's head tilted curiously; Some mysterious man had Mei-Ling's heart?

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Right I'm talking about Butcher, Gunnery Sergeant, pilots the Hatchetman." She blushed lightly. "I've actually been a huge fan of his for years when he was an arena fighter. I have his career stats memorized and loads of his fights on video. Now I'm in the same mercenary company as him and I feel like a fairytale princess because he's fucking amazing. He's also amazing at fucking so I am in heaven. He says he is teaching you wrestling actually which I immediately assumed was something lewd but he says it isn't which is totally you loss by the way unless you aren't into guys."

[Yoko Lee]

More blinking followed and Yoko opened her mouth a few times but nothing came out. Then she sat up and thought a bit. She then looked at the wine bottle.

"I think I need some wine to take that all in, if you could."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei poured for both of them, looking a little worried that some sort of judgement was being made.

"Is everything alright, I didn't say something wrong did I?"

If she tells me she's in love with him this is going to get crazy really fast.

[Yoko Lee]

"Huh? No, nothing like that. Just a lot to take in, that's all. Butch's name is actually John, he used to be an arena fighter, and you're madly in love with him. No offense, but I thought Butcher was mostly just the boring guy who ran the armory."

A small chuckle, "I mean yeah,he taught me how to break someone's arm, but he did it with all the emotion of a robot teaching programming. Never gotten a smile or frown out of the man."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"He isn't at all forward, he doesn't seek out people or companionship but deep down he want's it. I've been tiptoeing around him for months and then I decided to just go for it and sat down and talked to him. We chatted about this and that, I asked him about his arena days.

Then he said something slightly cheeky so I challenged him to an arm wrestling match. I knew he was gonna win but man is he strong, he was playing with me so I slipped a shoe off and gave him a little poke under the table. Do you know what he did? he trapped my foot with his legs, looked me in the eye and invited me to his room then stood up and started walking out."

Her hands went over her heart and she fell back onto the bed.

"And it was AMAZING!"

[Yoko Lee]

A chuckle and a sip of wine, "Hey, I wasn't saying he's a bad guy or anything. Just I'm not the sort to press people if they want to keep to themselves. So hearing stoic ol' butch Butcher described in such ways was a surprise. Though I did warn him that if he kept offering lessons to me I would find some way to get a reaction out of him eventually..."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Honey do it, just go for you won't be disappointed I promise." She gives a little chefs kiss.

[Yoko Lee]

"What, getting a reaction out of him? Believe me, Yoko Lee doesn't back down from a good challenge anyways. I just hadn't thought of a good way to go about it yet. Certainly jokes and flirting didn't work, but context is everything, of course. Though I will say I was a bit hesitant since the rumors floating around said you wouldn't like Butcher when he's angry. So didn't want to go overboard."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"No I mean just bang him. He doesn't really respond to subtly, he gets it but what he really likes is people who are honest and forward. So you if you actually want to get in his pants just tell him that. If you're just having fun then nevermind, carry on."

She took a sip of wine.

"Or do you have someone special right now yourself?"

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko held up a hand, the one not holding the wine glass, "I don't, but I never said I wanted in his pants. Just a reaction out of him. Get him flustered or laughing or something. I'm sure he's good in bed and all but I typically don't let men touch me unless I have a few drinks in me or I'm getting compensated. Not that I don't make exceptions, I suppose..."
