Sweating and tired Alex continued working on the repairs. "This is gonna to take a while... phew..." The Penguin hand trembled. "Maybe I should take a break."

Richard was walking through Mech Bay with a cigarette in his mouth. He seemed a bit nervous, or rather lost in thought? Hard to judge.

When he saw that someone was still working here at a late hour, he was taken aback and perhaps grateful for the distraction.

"Hey... "he began.
Who was that again? he thought
At first he thought it must be someone from Hrafn's team, guessing by size, but he had seen the person before at meetings.

"Sgt. Kovac,.....?" he finished his sentence.

"Huh?" Alex was surprised to hear someone other than the techies. The penguin looked at where the call came. The pilot cleaned the hands taking off the bandana on the head. "Yes? Ah, Lt Winters, what a nice surprise."

"Hello,...uh you can call me Richard" he offered. "We're off duty anyway." he took a drag on his cigarette.

"I didn't know we had a multi-talent here. I worked in a mech factory back in the day, but I only did the test runs. Where did you learn to fix them?"

"I have always had a knack for machinery. I was at Mech Tech League College." Alex smiled. "It is sort of a hobby but also a task if I were to no longer pilot a mech I can dedicate my know how on fixing them."

"Very interesting," he said with a nod. "What made you decide to become a mech pilot, if you don't mind the question?"

"I have been surrounded by mechs all my life. And I know my way around a mech. I started practice in sims at a young age and well one thing led to another... And I was part of a small merc group..." Alex cleaned the sweat from the hands. "And now here we are... trying my best to help the Techs make the repairs."

"Just don't overdo it. If you're doing double shifts and you're MechTech and Warrior at the same time, you're going to burn out eventually," he said, taking another drag on his cigarette, "Do you have another hobby that you can relax with?

"If my lance is out of commission there is little I can do as a warrior. The sooner I can put this mech to work... I can feel that in was helpful in some sort of way." Alex smiled. "I play guitar and sing but that is when I am not under the hood of a fallen mech."

Richard nodded. "I understand, just don't overdo it is all I'm saying."

He looked at the massive Vinidcator, looking at the damage and the status of the repair.

"If you're musical, you've probably been jumped by Mei, haven't you?" he said with a grin.

"Yep... we went shopping yesterday too." Alex smiled. "Hmmmm I wonder if I can find her a drum set... do you think in Torutovy we could find one?"

"Maybe,... it's supposed to be a big one, so,..."

"I don't have much but it would be nice for me to give something back to her." Alex nodded. "She gave me this pretty dress and helped me find some shoes.... or will a drum set be too much?"

"Well I rather think there is a space problem with a drum set, Mei doesn't have a particularly big room,...." he said, thinking for a moment. "But maybe there's an electric drum set or something?

"Or..." A devious smile crept on Alex face. "We can put it on the break room." The Penguin imagined some people making some noise with the drums.

"That,..." he scrathed his head "...might work. Even though if you ut a big ass drumset into the break room you should have a word with,... at least Tessa i guess?"

"I will try and do that... I hope Mei likes it." The pilot smiled. "So what brings you to the depths of the hangar... Are you looking at the new acquisitions?" Alex asked with curiousity

"Kinda,.." he began "I am actually trying to distract myself a bit, I have some things haunting my mind"

"well... If you need advice I can help... But I guess it is weird telling a sort of stranger your thoughts." Alex is keen to help out.

He shrugged. "We are one unit, there are rarely strangers for me, anyway,.. I'm going on a date tomorrow morning with, um, Yori and, uh.... I'm a little nervous because I can't interpret her 100% yet and it's driving me crazy" he said and laughed.
