Battletech: Planet's Fall

It was a long, long long day. Lots of comms work, lots of computer work, then that meeting. Alison trudged back with her hands in her pockets, looking at the ground.

Man, I need something fun to do she thought to herself as she kicked up some snow. When she paused, looked at the snow, and started grinning to herself.

A few moments later after sprinting to base and sweet talking a few highly unsuspecting and entirely unprepared people, she made her way back to where the snow was thickest, put the small pile of raggidy clothes she'd managed to claim to a side and began rolling up snow.

Building the first of what she hoped would be an army of snowman! Not that she knew how many counted as an army for snowmen. Nor how many could be made here, she hadn't done her snow to snowman mathematical ratios. But who cares. Snowmen!

It was dark. There was no moonlight due to the clouds, but there were just enough lights to vaguely see the snow. Alison could really use a torch.

Shit.

It was getting more difficult to continue. At home she'd be sure there was enough light...but not enough snow.

With a sigh she accepted her fate and went back to try and acquire a torch

It'd be easy enough to borrow one from someone in the hangars or the command vehicle. They had plenty.

Then again, if she said why she'd probably be told no. Alison needed either a cunning excuse or simply to make avoid talking about it!

This would take all of her cunning. Her smarts, her wits.

...Or, she'd come across another fan. And talking to him sweetly, explaining that she needed a flashlight and making it sound like she sincerely needed one to help her get around in the dark. Which seemed to make perfect sense, or the guy wasn't completely listening. Either way, flashlight acquired and without too much fuss!

Now back to build a snow...something. Snowman? Maybe a snow mecha! That would be more challenging but far more interesting. Maybe both? She could get away with both in a short amount of time maybe?

With her flashlight borrowed - for 'as long as she needed' - Alison could begin Operation Snowman.

It was the perfect plan. Well, it was a plan and because she'd made it that meant it was perfect. Flashlight acquired, clothes for the snowman acquired. Now time to work!

And...it wasn't bad for her first snowman in 14 years.
