"It's not impossible, but we might be getting ahead of ourselves."
Eric tried to refocus the discussion.
"Any other opinions, concerns or questions? I'd like everyone to have the chance to contribute. We're about to be part of a war everyone. Make sure you feel comfortable and ready for our part in it."

Tanaki clears his throat from where he has been in the back, taking notes.
"Here is the problem, most of us are looking at this as an attempt to dismantle the defenses of this area and conquer it. But if I understand our objectives, the AFC doesn't give a damn about us conquering this area. They want us to cause chaos here to draw forces from other areas to deal with us. Now cutting communication lines if strategically sound, would cause confusion, and allow us to secure the area much easier, BUT" he holds up a finger, "It would also stop the local militia from calling for help, and we want them to do that. " He nods, "Although it would draw lot of attention, I can not sign on on shooting civilians, and honestly the Militia barracks is a priority target but we can't get close enough to catch them with their pants down, and it will be a tough nut to crack. I agree with the Major that the mech repair is the juiciest target, and also disrupts their repair abilities. If we dont hit it first, we need to hit it second. Still the answer is Budai, because hitting it takes out whatever garrison force they have, gives us some juicy extras, while also denying those extras to the enemy, and here is the punch, it means the stock holders of the company are going to be crying to the civilian government to send more forces here to protect their investment, relieving some of the strain on the main front. "

Alex had listened and shook the head. "I think... um... trying to disrupt communication may bring a bit of advantage... but like Tanaki said... um... The contract stated... then again it, getting comms will give us a base line... if we hit Myron next we might encounter a better defended place... um... that said... I don't think hitting a big pay out place is an alternative we just got here and know just enough Intel but how can we know if that intel had changed..." Alex cleared the throat. "Um... so... I am still conflicted between Comms and Myron... as our first target."

"It's helpful to gauge how everyone's opinions on this. I'll make a decision after this and you'll all be informed. Please do pass on the details to those under your command."

Re: Pick a Target Discussion (D1 EE Event Headquarters and Briefing Room)
After some further discussion the meeting was called and participants were dismissed.
In the late evening a message is sent to all the lance leads and other key personnel: the Angels would be mobilising to attack the Comms outpost once scouting had taken place. The other nearby targets would also be scouted to provide as much information as possible.
Hopefully, attacking the comms outpost would confuse the enemy and give the Angels an easy target to shake off their travel fatigue. Kurt and the chief mechtech were not best pleased, and there was some disagreement among other staff too. It had been close. However, Eric had approved the attack even though he felt that Budai would be far more profitable. Better safe than sorry.
