Yori neatly returns her mug to a coaster and very carefully stores the first copy back in the box before standing.

Richard took the rest of the stack off the table, put them in the box with the others, and lifted the box. "After you" he said and nodded to the door

Yori nods and takes her role as pointwoman very seriously, ensuring all doors are held open to their maximum capacity. Sure enough her cabin is not to far away and it's only a few more minutes before her door slides sideways with a hiss to reveal the interior.

One wall of the dark room is taken up with a large fishtank that has two sizable koi swimming slowly within, then a futon, various books, some neat piles of clothes and a small shrine holding her sword with a finger of incense still burning.

Richard put the box down and took a quick look around. The fish were quite interesting and he had an inner need to tap the glass, but a primal instinct also told him that Yori would probably cut him down with the sword if he did that.

"It smells good..." he muttered.

It was perhaps the wrong moment to discuss this between doors, but he added: "I hope I didn't offend you by taking the liberty of calling you by your first name?"

He had little cultural knowledge of the Draconis Combne other than what he knew from military briefings, but the detail that she still addressed him by rank and last name had just dawned on him.

And she stares at him..and stares....and stares......aaaand staaares until finally.
"You may call me Yori and I shall address you as 'Richard', in one months time we can meet to discuss how this form of address is working out."

He turned around left Yori to her room
