D12, EM - Getting Ready For The Day (open)

[Yoko Lee]

"Yeah, I get all that; The nurses had said it wasn't damaged, just malfunctioning. Thus why the connections didn't lock properly, and why it was still twitching..."

She let out a sigh, "...still, it IS a bit silly, looking back at the incident. In a way at least. Certainly learned a lot of little lessons as well."

[John Slaktare]

"It ain't silly. You felt a way about what happened. Nothing wrong with that. You're a sweet person for being that worried though." Butcher says before sipping the last from his cup before setting it aside.

[Yoko Lee]

"I don't know about worried. More like 'Help, I pulled something off someone and it's twitching in my hands'. I don't mind things doing that normally, but NORMALLY they stay attached, you know?"

Yoko finished the small cup of coffee, not necessarily feeling more awake already because of the caffeine, but the warmth and bitterness did have a way of making her less out of focus, she admitted. As far as what she said, she left the double entendre hanging.

[John Slaktare]

"Yeah, the human body is pretty durable. It's not usually that easy to jerk something off, but if you know what you're doing it's definitely possible. I've got some experience with that," he replies, firing back ambiguously. Because with rumors and his own admissions he may have literally separated body parts from other people. Or maybe he's just playing with the entendre too.

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko tossed the paper cup in the recycling bin for them before turning around, putting a hand on her hips as she looked at Butcher, "...you know, Mei-Ling was right about you I guess. Not that I doubted her per say. Too much."

[John Slaktare]

"I just believe there's a time and place for stuff," he replies. "Relaxing before the job, casual dinner, free time... go nuts. But during work or at the gym, I don't like playing around. They're spaces that should be kept safe from anything that could hurt someone. At least beyond what danger exists naturally there. Just got a rigid structure I guess," he replies.

[Yoko Lee]

"What? The right time and place isn't any place I'm around?"

Yoko actually batted her eyelashes at Butcher.

[John Slaktare]

"Nope. It certainly don't hurt, but I like to think I got okay self control. At least a little bit," he replies with a shrug.

"But something to keep in mind is that I'm pretty used to the non-native speaker accidental entendres from Hrafnhildur. Of which I inform her without batting an eye. So it'll take a bit to get a rise out of me."

[Yoko Lee]

"Hai, hai, I get that. I tease her about those slip ups in my own way. Though I do try to be kind about it. Anyways, I suppose I'm not actually that worried about it. Just, again, trying to see how you react."

[John Slaktare]

"Always too seriously," he admits. "Just the way I am. You don't seem to have that issue though."

[Yoko Lee]

"Perhaps... would that be a good thing or a bad thing then?"

[John Slaktare]

"Most folks probably consider it bad. I consider it just being me. What do you think?" He asks, curious about the answer.

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko chuckled and walked closer before leaning next to John, "I meant for my own throwing caution to the wind. For you being so stoic? Honestly, it doesn't matter much in the end, not as much as your actual motivations and actions. It's a bit frustrating for a prankster like myself, but probably a good overall, from that perspective."

[John Slaktare]

"I'd say that the kind of free spirit you got is a great thing. Structure and caution are two different things, and caution is overrated. I've always felt like you should just do whatever you want. And I can tell you are better at that than me by a lot."

[Yoko Lee]

"I do agree, to a point. Living free without inhibitions towards your goals and desires is great and all. But living without inhibitions certainly doesn't mean living without consequences. Like the old great sage said supposedly, all things in moderation if you don't want to end up with the Folsom Prison Blues."

Those ancient sayings never made perfect sense.

[John Slaktare]

"I... don't even know what that means. But yeah, should only be doing what we can handle. Don't wanna overdo it. But you also gotta test your limits from time to time to know where that line is."

[Yoko Lee]

"I think it just means don't overdo things if you don't want to end up in jail? But yeah, what you said makes sense. For now though, I think some coffee and sugar have me wide awake."

She chuckled and stood up straight, "Suppose I should get ready for actual work though; We'll need comms ready as soon as people take off."

[John Slaktare]

"I don't want to keep you from it then. Already got all my pre-mission checks done, just waiting on the word now. Take care and be safe."

[Yoko Lee]

"I should be saying that to you, shouldn't I? You're the one heading out into combat."

[John Slaktare]

"Shit can go bad anywhere. This is war. At least out there I'll be in a giant murder machine."
