Moving Day (D9 LE Mei's Room)

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Yeah, that's probably not good I heard she got banged up pretty bad. Well you'll have to introduce us some time." Mei pulled an large and overstuffed bag out of her closet, a wave of different colored yarns threatened to spill out of the top. "Hey what's your favorite color?"

[Yoko Lee]

"Huh...? Um, yellow, of course. Not that I don't like red and purple too. ...why?"

Yoko couldn't see that Mei-Ling had pulled anything out of the closet, so she wasn't aware of the yarn, being laid fully back on the bed like she was with her hands on her stomach. She did look up a little but could only see Mei-Ling's face over her chest, since she was too lazy to sit up actually.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Perfect, but what to make. How would you feel about a shawl or maybe some gloves? I know knit wool isn't the most stylish thing out there but it is warm."

She sat back down beside Yoko and picked up her wine glass.

"Your want some more wine?"

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko held up the empty wine glass without sitting up, "Yes please; I think one more glass couldn't hurt, neh?"

She sat up as the glass was taken from her, looking at the yarn as she leaned on her elbows, "Huh, you knit? That's... kind of neat, actually. I don't suppose you could make another pair of thigh-high socks like these?"

Yoko tugged at one of the long pairs of socks she was wearing, "I love them to death, but silk just isn't the warmest."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei refilled the glass and handed it back then reached into her bag and pulled out a cloth measuring tape.

"Yeah, I had some hand- eye coordination problems when I was little so my mom got me into knitting and I never gave it up.
I've been trying to make things for people as I go since it was so cold when we got here. Wool thigh-highs sounds like a lot of fun, so you mind if I measure you? You got any hobbies? By the way you can light up if you want, this room is going to become a closet until they take it away from me. "

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko shook her head, "I don't smoke in my PJs, actually, so I didn't bring any. I don't mind my day clothes smelling like smoke, but there's something nice about my fluffies smelling like my fabric softener scent that's just so pleasant."

The things did have a slightly faint scent, like fresh linen and flowers, a very cute scent subtle feminine scent.

"And go ahead and measure away; We can talk about hobbies while you're doing that I suppose."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei took some quick measurements of her foot, the length of her leg and around her thigh.

"You have great legs by the way, I'm really jealous of how smooth they are. I have to spend a ton of time every day shaving and plucking and moisturizing, it's really annoying. Thankfully John has a shower in the room so it's going to be a lot more convenient now.

So what are your hobbies? Besides the wrestling John said he helped you out in the practice range, do you do much shooting?"

[Yoko Lee]

"I'm a crack shot, actually. Can get a full bullseye spread at one hunred meters with a good pistol. A lot better than your boyfriend really."

Achuckle, "He was all over the place with my custom pistol, even at thirty meters. I thought maybe he'd want me to help him with that in exchange for the self defense lessons, but no mention of that so far. Not sure I'd call shooting ahobby though, per say... no more so than sex. They're both things I do a lot and am really good at, but they're more just part of my lifestyle than anything else.

Now HOBBY-wise... I like listening to music, playing cards, picture puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, watching porn, watching wrestling and MMA fights, collecting plushes from carnival and crane games, reading spy novels, shopping, and watching those trashy news shows about celebrities and such. Off the top of my head."

Yoko chuckled lightly and shifted a bit, "I'm sure there are thongs I'm forgetting and maybe they're not all hobbies... just thinking about the things I like doing when I'm on my own."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"I've never heard anyone describe watching porn as a hobby but more importantly what made you decide to become a crack shot; necessity or just a skill you decided to develop?"

[Yoko Lee]

"A little of both; I used to carry heat when I worked in less savory parts of New Amoro, but it was only partially necessity. After all, it wasn't actually THAT dangerous in that part of town. It was just as much peace of mind and trying to be 'cool', you know?"

Yoko turned onto her side facing Mei-Ling after the measuring was done, "Anyways... why wouldn't someone have a porn watching hobby? Learn new techniques, look for up and coming porn stars... no pun intended there, now that I think about it."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Oh sure I enjoy watching it and have learned my lessons well it's just...you said sex isn't a hobby of yours but studying it is. Do you still enjoy having sex or has it gotten boring? It's basically my favorite thing to d outside of a mech but I've never HAD to do it, not like you."

Mei felt terrible even talking about it, alluding to a past she assumed Yoko wanted to forget.

[Yoko Lee]

"It depends on the person, yah know? Sometimes it feels more exciting and personal, sometimes it's more like just... I dunno, like...."

She thought a bit before speaking up again, "You work out, right? Like at a gym or jogging or whatever?"

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Yeah I go to the gym from time to time. I should do it more often, why?"

[Yoko Lee]

"You ever feel like you're too tired or sore to go to the gym, but you have someone you work out with and you don't want to disappoint them? It's kind of like that sometimes, especially with men. Not really an obligation or a chore per say, and I still enjoy myself, but like it's just something I'm doing for reasons rather than it being precisely what I want to be doing at that moment. Obviously not so much here, but sometimes I still have a habit of making sex feel like work, as it were, even if it's not anymore."

Mei looked as though Yoko were describing an unimaginable horror and when she finished it looked like she would cry.

"That sounds terrible, I cant imagine what it would take for me to feel that way and you seem like a way stronger person than me so you must have gone through hell."

Mei paused, considering hugging Yoko but resisted.

"Are you OK?"

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko tilted her head a little before hugging back, "Yeah? I mean, it is what it is, you know?"

She pulled back from the hug, "Besides, like I said, I still enjoy myself. Just means... well, let's just say that when you get good at something, sometimes you look for excuses to show it off. And I swear, the only thing I'm as good at as dancing the horizontal tango is shooting, and random guys tend to appreciate attractive women treating them to the former much more than the latter I've found. Even if it's just tying them up and showing off."

Yoko put a hand on Mei-Ling's shoulder, "Really, I had worse jobs than sexwork, believe me."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

A devious grin crossed Mei's face as she imagined being tied up by Yoko.

"Oh?"

[Yoko Lee]

Another nod, "Drug running, corporate espionage, other stuff. I'm... not much for talking about those years though. Maybe I shouldn't be that way, since those jobs helped pay off my school debts and my mother's medical bills, but I just didn't like it."

She looked at Mei-Ling's grin and raised an eyebrow, "Though something about that grin tells me you're thinking more about dominatrix Yoko than criminal Yoko."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei blushed and played with her bag of yarn.

"Yeah you got me, am I that easy to read? I'm actually really frustrated because instead of celebrating today's victory with someone or celebrating moving in with John I got my period this morning. The cramps aren't as bad now as they were this morning but the timing is just brutal.

You've lived a hell of a life, all that and now your a mercenary, any thoughts on what you want to do next or is it the merc life for the long haul?"

[Yoko Lee]

"I'll admit, I hadn't... well, really thought about it ir anything.I'm still a bit immature, take everything one step at a time without thinking ahead too much. Certainly this whole mercenary thing."

She paused and sat up more fully, "...can I let you in on a little secret about all this?"
