Getting Ready (D11 LE John's Room Closed)

[John Slaktare]

"Well, we can give that a try if you like. But... I... got something for you a couple days ago," he says, but continues massaging, not going to retrieve the gift yet.

"Should I get that for you first?"

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"You got something for me?" She sat up a bit and looked at him excited and confused. "You didn't need to do that, you already give me everything I need and I have nothing to give to you."

[John Slaktare]

"Yeah, I got a gift," John replies making his way to his feet. He moves to grab a box from a drawer. It was a simple box about the size of a textbook, tied with a blue ribbon. He hands it over to Mei-Ling.

"I wanted to get you something. No particular reason."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Aww babe." She took the box and looked at him misty eyed. "Thank you." She ran her hand over the box and the ribbon but didn't open it right away. "It's...it's really rare for someone to give me something."

[John Slaktare]

"Could say the same about me getting something for someone. I had to get some advice on it," he says before sitting down next to her.

"So, apologies if you don't like it."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei delicately pulled on the ribbon and then opened the box.

Opening the box reveals a tick and vivid necklace made from an interlocking pattern of crystals.



Butcher just watches, curious if it's any good.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Her mouth dropped open but no words came from it. She hesitantly stretched a hand out and gingerly ran her fingers over is surface, like she expected it to cut her.

"It's beautiful." Was all she could manage as she stared at it in wonder.

[John Slaktare]

"I'm glad you like it," Butcher says, leaning in to kiss Mei-Ling, gently touching his lips to her forehead. "And it ain't near as beautiful as you are, my queen."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Tears silently ran down her face as she looked at him with a loving smile.

"It's so beautiful, thank you." She said before kissing him deeply.

"You have good taste, I have jewelry but a lot of it is too...gaudy for every day wear, this is special wherever did you find it?"

[John Slaktare]

"At an antique shop, in some secret back room. I ran into Captain Kaala and Klaus and she helped me out with it. I'd have never gotten to see the secret room without her," he admits.

"Can I see what it looks like on you?" As John asks, he puts a hand on her cheek.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Of course but..." Mei looked at the closet. "This really deserves a better showing than a T-shirt and shorts. Gimme a second."

Mei hopped up off the bed and took the box with her to the closet. She practically crammed herself into it and within moments emerged in a classy formal black dress and the red necklace draped around her neck.



"It's perfect thank you so much."

[John Slaktare]

John sits and watches as she changes to model the necklace for him. "You are gorgeous," he replies, as he stands and approaches her.

"Meeting you is the luckiest thing that's ever happened to me. I... wanna see... just the necklace..." he says, running a finger from her shoulder down her arm and taking her hand. "Show me?"

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei Lifted his hand and kissed it then she reached behind her neck and unfasten the dress. Fine black silk slid off her and down to the ground and she took a small step back so he could see her fully. She posed with one hand on her hip, like a model showing off a designer garment.

"What do you think?" She asked seductively.

[John Slaktare]

"I think you make anything you wear or don't wear look amazing," he replies before moving to scoop her up and carry her to the bed.

He lays her down and joins her before pulling a blanket over them both. He gently massages her belly just like before. And kisses her neck as well, above the necklace.

"You are my happiness, you know? Ain't got anything else that makes me happy the way you do."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"You're the best thing ever to happen to me, if I make you happy then I am truly lucky as it's my only goal. You've been trying so hard baby, don't think I haven't noticed. Talking to people and making friends, going to the bar last night, dancing and smiling. Those things, things others would think are small are huge to me and are why I love you. And then you give me this." She touches the necklace. "When I'm the one who should be showering you with gifts as you shower me with affection."

[John Slaktare]

"Ain't a competition or a who should what to me. I'm just trying to be the best I can for you. All I want is to do stuff that makes you smile, cause I like seein you smile."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"How could I not smile when I am with you, even when we are apart the thought of you makes me smile and warms my heart. And when I see YOU smile it just makes me melt. I think it's my favorite thing in the galaxy because I know it's never forced or fake. I know that in that moment something has made you truly happy."

[John Slaktare]

"I try not to give you any reason to not smile. Prolly won't always succeed, but I'll always try. Cause it feels like making you happy is the only real goal that should mean anything to me."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

She smiled and rubbed his cheek with the back of her hand.

"It shouldn't be your only goal but I am glad I am apart of them. Don't forget the farm, you want to retire back to a farming life and I want that for you, I want to be a part of that goal and all the others we have talked about."
