Moving Day (D9 LE Mei's Room)

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Oh shit I'm so sorry."

Mei looked mortified and sipped her wine before desperately trying to change the subject.

"So what were you saying about Tessa and Klaus?"

[Yoko Lee]

"Oh, those two? What, you haven't seen Mister von Zinzer all over the woman? For her part, our dear Miss Wentworth seems quite flattered by his attentions and devotions. I mean, he's not really my type, but I respect her wishes so nudge them together."

Another sip of wine and a sigh, "Even if it makes me wish I had gotten here earlier to sweep her off her feet myself. Life's that way sometimes though, especially with myself. I'm just lucky to be here at all, frankly."

If Yoko had seemed taken aback in any way by Mei's assumptions about John, it didn't show. Like it'd just been another part of the conversation.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"I mean I think I saw them talking on New Years Eve but I don't think I have ever had a proper conversation with her. A friendly hey how are you in the halls or cafeteria but that's about it. As for Klaus...I'm not sure about him, the eyepatch is dashing but he seems...I don't know, snobbish I guess. He doesn't seem to have to have much regard for those that are below him or that he considers below him at least. Calling him "Mister von Zinzer" suggests you aren't a fan of his so what's stopping you from moving on Tessa?"

[Yoko Lee]

"Aren't all nobles like that, at least a little bit though? And like I said, she seems to like him as well; I don't want to do anything that'd hurt her..."

She trailed off thoughtfully before continuing, "Besides, even if I'm not sure about him, he's at least smart and well off and stuff. What am I? A wanted broke ass former prostitute? She deserves better than that. Most people would."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Oh I'm sorry I didn't know we were living by other peoples bullshit labels." She said with a friendly mockery. "Bombs could start raining down on us at any moment and you're going to limit your own joy because of what other people who aren't even here once said about you? On top of that you're gonna assume that he is better for Tessa than you are because of what, birthright? Come on girl, I don't know you very well yet but I know you're worth more than that."

[Yoko Lee]

"It's not like I'm not having a good time here. Even with getting into people's pants, as it were. Besides, anyone can die any day; Not the best reason for causing a lot of drama."

Yoko gave a small smirk, "Though you'd think Klaus wouldn't mind having two smoking hot women with him, you know? But he's very traditional in that sense. Unlike me. More than one man at a time is more than fine in my book, as long as I get a say in it."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"OK so if Tessa is a no right now who else you got in your life? Because I can make a recommendations."

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko settled back in her hands again, lightly kicking her sock clad legs where they hung over the bed, "What, for a long term relationship sort of thing? I mean, I certainly don't have anyone like that, if that's what you mean. None of the one night stands has been particularly emotional or anything or with people I want to connect with deeply. I'm just the sort of person who puts those two sorts of things in very different compartments, mentally."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Same. I mean I struck gold with John but two hours after he rocked me for the first time I was in Dr. L's bed. There are so many hotties on this ship I don't know what to do with myself."

[Yoko Lee]

"Fair, fair... now, you said you had recommendations for me, neh?"

Another long sip of wine... barely a sip really.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Well yeah, for starters Dr. L because I know she's into it. When was the last time you got a physical from our company physician?"

[Yoko Lee]

"I... don't like doctors much."

She cleared her throat, "Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm scared of them or don't trust them. It's more a thing about the things I don't know not being able to hurt me, you know? And I already know my bad and good habits, so what would change. ...and what do you mean by 'into it'?"

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Sex." She said matter of factly while shaking her her head and smiling. "Sex with women to be specific, I don't know about guys. "I went to her about a problem with my prosthetic and the first thing she did was make me strip down...for an issue with my leg. Seemed kinda strange so I pushed things a little and things went well. She maintains that the strip down was totally medically relevant but I'm still not sure I buy that.

There's Lights Out, Gianna Rains lancemate; she seems like a good fit for you. I would say Gianna herself but I've been trying to bark up that tree since I got here, she's an evasive one. I think she's into the idea but she's got some baggage. "

Mei though for a moment and muttered a few things including Yoko's name.

"Sorry I'm just running down my personal list, there are a few people I really haven't gotten to know yet like Ezmerelda, so I can't really speak on her. Ducky and Alex are too innocent for someone like me but your mileage may vary. What about Mary?"

[Yoko Lee]

"I confess I don't know much about Mary, or Gianna. Regardless though... you have understand that while I do think Tessa is beautiful and sexy and all, more what I was looking for is just someone to share things with, be myself around, that sort of thing. Don't get me wrong, I definitely like wrassling around with my share of women, but a relationship is... different. And it's why I only think of relationships with women and not men."

Yoko leaned back a bit on the bed, frowning thoughtfully, "There's something gentle, soft, and understanding about some women, something that makes me feel safe and happy. Maybe it's related to growing up without a father, or to going to an all girls school, but there's just something about feminine, almost motherly women that switches off that perverted side of me and makes me want to just cuddle and be taken care of..."

She trailed off, thinking a bit before sighing, "I'm probably not making a lot of sense there, am I?"

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Oh one hundred percent you are. When you say that I can close my eyes and picture a couple people who match that feeling for me but because you bring up Tessa it makes me think you are looking for someone more mature and stable than the one's I think of. Which just tells me more that you should stop using Klaus as a reason not to try and be happy.

How about this, I am getting tired of being stuck on this ship so how about we break out of here tomorrow night and go find a bar or something in town. You, me, John, maybe one or two others if you want and Tessa. We go have some fun and relax, talk in a place that's too loud for other people to care what we say and get to know each other a bit better. You can invite her or I can invite her. What do you say?"

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko smiled softly and nodded, "That does sound nice, yeah. Talking to people one on one is nice and all, but a proper get together where I can get out of my shell a bit might do me a world of good."

Sitting up a little,Yoko stretched out all her long limbs at once, as far as they could go, before flopping back on Mei-Ling's bed. "Heh... and here I just came over to gossip a bit and get out of my roommate's hair for a bit, but I end up with you counseling me while I bring up my relationship issues."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Shit we all have those, even me, so don't worry about that." She stood up and turned around, regarding Yoko stretched across her bed and shook off a smile that started to creep onto her face. "At least we haven't been shot while on a date recently." She finished her glass and then headed over to the closet, shuffling a few things. "yeah, getting out of here and getting out of your own head will do you some good I think, all of us really. Got anyone you want to invite? I wanna keep it it kinda small, John doesn't like large groups so i want to limit it to six at the very very most and there are already four of us assuming Tessa comes."

[Yoko Lee]

"Hmm... Richard and Yori maybe? Hmmm..."

The second hmmm was a bit longer.

"...maybe Cat Hayes or Ezmeralda; They are both nice young women. Then again, if we're talking small and I take things into consideration, maybe just Richard and Yori for six. They deserve a less hectic date."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Yah if Yori is up for it, Richard says the wound isn't bad but he also hadn't gone to see her since he carried her into in the infirmary. I scolded him for that. But they may want to lay low for a while so we will see. I know Cat well but what's Ezmerelda like?"

[Yoko Lee]

"Ez? She kind of reminds me of a mix between you and Cat; Pretty energetic and funny and even teases me sometimes, but has a kind of shy side and is a bit reserved in some ways. Maybe a bit sheltered, I think? She also got pretty banged up, so might be in the same boat as Yori, with doctor's orders and whatnot..."
