D9:LE:Weapons Range - Gotta keep it clean - Expecting

He shrugged. "I killed today together with my lance and air support about 20 to 30 people with cluster bombs, machine gun fire, flamethrowers and the feet of our mechs. It's a numbers game, eventually someone will want your head, like you said."

He had the gun body open and took a brush in his hand. " Could you pass me the gun oil?"

[John Slaktare]

John sets the bottle between them and nods. "Well, at the very least you're name wasn't announced before the fight. Gladiators tend to earn personal enemies, but units and companies usually get folks that dislike the group. One person is all the people to outsiders."

[Richard Winter]

"That's fair" he took the bottle, and after scrubbing the insides of his gun, he lightly spread the oil. "I should definitely get an SMG in the future, in the cramped environment, the thing was diabolical."

[John Slaktare]

"Sergeant Major McConnell has a nice Imperator make SMG. Pretty heavy duty."

[Richard Winter]

"This thing is so big that you can hardly call it an SMG." Richard laughed "Although in Sgt. Mj. McConnel's hands, it's the real deal."

He tried to imitate holding an Emperor SMG in his hands. "I'm afraid I don't have the strength to handle it well," he said as he imagined himself firing and the recoil knocked him off aim.

[John Slaktare]

"Was pretty heavy, but I thought it wasn't too bad. My issue is I'm only just learning to fire the bigger weapons. Was always a pistol and hand to hand type. But I've spent a good amount of time getting familiar."

[Richard Winter]

"I've had the rifle for years, but I've never really focused on getting better with it because.... well, I'm in the cockpit most of the time." He began to reassemble the rifle one by one. "But after yesterday, I should get some practice in."

[John Slaktare]

John was being meticulous with his cleaning. It was going to take him a while.

"I just always preferred to settle things with my bare hands. It's less deadly. Though not completely safe."

[Richard Winter]

"Oh, are you doing anything in particular? Or just mixed arts? or CQC?" he asked with interest, then laughed "My CQC is pretty rusty".

[John Slaktare]

"Mixed. I learned freestyle wrestling and boxing when I was younger. So I kinda just use those. If you want, I usually spar or practice hand to hand on even numbered days."

[Richard Winter]

"Oh, really?" He rotated his shoulders a bit, "Some training really couldn't hurt me.... If they don't rip my head off my shoulders in the morning I'll try to get to the gym" he said and chuckled.

[John Slaktare]

"I'm open to folks coming out. Made the offer to plenty, occasionally someone takes me up on it," he replies. "And I am guessing they won't rip your head off, but they might. At the end of the day though, you're an Angel and a veteran warrior. Leadership won't turn you over to locals in the middle of a campaign against local forces."

[Richard Winter]

"Ahh I'm not worried about that, I'm worried about the fact that I've never seen Eric get mad and if there's one thing that scares me it's people who aren't grumpy at least a few times."

[John Slaktare]

"Well, I guess it don't bother me none. Every time I've gotten in trouble I just took my medicine and got it over with no concern for how angry the boss was. Kind of hard to reinforce discipline in someone that enjoys cleaning and doesn't care if you cut their income. In this environment at least. That's why my grandma had to fall back on good ol corporal punishment. Got that switch a couple times."

[Richard Winter]

"Hmmm, seems like you've had it rough a few times," he said, finishing assembling his rifle.

[John Slaktare]

"Nah. I earned every punishment I've ever gotten. That's why it don't bother me when it happens."

[Richard Winter]

Richard suppressed raising an eyebrow, he didn't want to get into Bucher's psyche and find out what was going on inside him that he thought that.

So he masterfully just steered the topic to something else: "Mei said you're moving in together soon?"

[John Slaktare]

"Yeah. I thought it would be a good idea, she didn't disagree. And its not like she won't still have her own room if she changes her mind," he confirms.

He starts putting the heavy machine gun back together now that it was thoroughly cleaned.

[Richard Winter]

He laughed "It's more a question of how long Admin will wait to reclaim the room to give it to someone else. But I hope it will be a nice experience for both of you. Who knows, maybe after a year they'll give you a bigger room?" Richard watched John assemble the rifle.

[John Slaktare]

"Well, she plans on putting a drum kit in there and continuing to use it. But I suspect it'll be fine. I ain't had any problems falling asleep with her there, and she don't seem to either."

His work is slow and meticulous, making sure everything is precisely where it belongs.
