He nodded, at the same time visibly relieved but also exhausted to get rid of this from his heart. "I was afraid that I would lose her right away, Mei. I panicked and had Kelenfold in my head again." His eyes became red and watery. "I really don't want to lose her..."

She pulled him closer and began to rub his back.

"And you haven't. Have you talked to her since then, are you two alright? Where did she get hit anyway and how bad is it?"

[Richard Winter]

"No" he shook his head, slowly tears are falling from his face. "I deliverd her to medbay asap. Her Sternum was shot. I don't know if any organs were hit or not,.. and I hadn't had the chance to see her,..."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei lightly slapped the back of his head.

"So what the hell are doing in here? Pacing back and forth worrying about things? Hiding? Go check on her, go talk to the Major face to face. I'm going out there in a little while and when I get back you better not still be in here sulking, you're better than that. You should go and see her and make sure she is alright and the two of you are alright."

Richard nodded, "You're right, I should see her again." He stood up and wiped his eyes. "I'm back in the field today too, I should definitely see her again before that." A faint smile formed on his lips. "Thank you Mei, thank you for everything."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei stood up and wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug.

"My pleasure, and to think I was just coming to find out if you two banged or not. Yeah, go see her and make sure everything is good with her and if it isn't tell me and I will talk to her. I totally want to go on a double date with you two.

Oh shit I almost forgot to tell you..." She released him and looked up at him with a huge warm smile on her face. "John asked me to move in with him."

He returned the hug and smiled "I'm glad to hear that. Seems like John must have made the big catch." he laughed weakly. "I'll,...see if we can work out a double date somehow,...... and I'll let you know if there's any news."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Tell her I said I'm thinking about her and will see her soon. I gotta go get ready to blow shit up which means waking up Turtle and you know how long that can take. Are you OK?"

[Richard Winter]

He nodded, "It may not look like it, but I am better now, much better." He smiled "Be careful and leave some for me too, after all I have to try the Hawk expansively""

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

She gave him another hug.

"You be carful out there too and have some fun with your new toy. Oh hey I should ask, does this mean I can go back to trying to get into Gianna's pants?"

[Richard Winter]

He had to laugh at the, in his eyes absurd question, "Mei, if you manage to tear down the walls of Castle Rains then I would like you to have the treasure that is hidden behind them".

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"It's not easy." She said with a frustrated sigh. "Just trying to be her friend and be there for her, if you had asked me who would be harder to get to know the hot nerdy girl I have stuff in common with or the reserved brooding arena vet with rumors of cruelty and malice...It's been weird."

[Richard Winter]

"Life is strange" he said with a smile. "But you'll figure it out somehow".

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"As far as John goes I feel like a damned fairytale princess. How the hell is the man of my teenage dreams in the same merc company as me and also is as into me as I am him? Like what are the odds? Like, as soon as I got him in a private situation we just clicked. He's told me things I know he doesn't like to talk about, we just trust each other AND he's a god in bed."

She suddenly remembered who she was talking to and put a hand over her mouth.

"Oh god I'm sorry you don't want to hear all that."

[Richard Winter]

Richard shook his head and laughed "It's alright Mei." he gently patted her head. "I think it's good that you found someone you like and who seems to be interested in something longer term. I don't really know John that well, but he makes a solid impression and seems to really care about you."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"I really hope you two will get to know each other and get along, you both mean a lot to me. He's got this interesting idea for when he retires of starting a farm with Hrafn. We've given her an honorary callsign of Ducky so the next time you take to her if you call her Ducky it would probably make her day."

[Richard Winter]

"Ducky?" Sound cute enhough, I'll rmember it the next time i see it." he nodded, " 's time i get going Mei" he said rubbing the Back of his head, "Visiting Yori and then deploying.... what a stressful day"

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

She gave him one more big huge.

"Yep, you go see her and give her my love. Be safe out there today, lets kick some ass today and then go have some fun tomorrow."

[Richard Winter]

He returned the hug and said "I'll make sure she gets some of your love. Stay safe today too and stomp some Milita boys." After that he went off towards Medbay and left Mei in his quarters.
