Another one bites the dust (D7 LE Officers' Lounge)

"Combat bravery's nothing. It's what we get paid for." She hadn't missed Alek's momentary change. The compliment was batted to the side as she leaned toward him to study his face.

Leaning back, satisfied he had recovered, she shows some concern. "You feeling alright? Maybe time to call it a night, ay? It was a tough day yesterday." She checks the time. "I ought to kip as well."

Alek chuckled "you'd make a fine goalie if you bat away balls as well as you bat away compliments." He said with a little grin.

He raised an eyebrow at her and shrugged "yeah I feel alright, not really quite tired yet but I could walk with you back to your room if it's your bedtime Sergeant Major." He said with a light teasing voice "or I'll just keep hanging out here if you've had enough Alek for the night." He said smiling.

"I preferred midfield." She flashes him another smile. Monique allows herself a brief chuckle at Alek's jest. "I can walk myself back, but thanks anyway. Maybe if you had offered to tuck me in too, ay?" She chuckles more for a moment only to stand up and finish what's left of her whiskey.

"See you soon Alek."

She'd go wash up the whiskey glass and then head out, giving Alek a wave.

Alek smiled back a little mischievous "Well now that's a standing offer Mo, good to redeem whenever you wish." He said giving her a wink.

"See you soon." He replied as he watched her walk away intently before finishing his own glass and cleaning up the room.
