Finally, some free time (D3 LA Break Room)

Yesterday had been spent sharing information practically all day with the Angels' leadership. Krisztofer Amasi had been worn out come morning, but there had been follow up questions and thus a shorter meeting. It had continued after lunch. Only then was he finally thanked fully and given the all clear to come and go from the dropsite. He planned to head off the next day to gather more information, but he'd stick around a bit longer today. With some kind of attack happening - he could tell that much - he didn't want to get in the way. His hover truck would also make a big target if the Militia were patrolling the continent's main highway. So, with nothing better to do, Kris had asked where he could relax and he'd been given directions to the break room. He was now in it, sprawled out on one of the sofas, and munching on a sandwich. It wasn't a bad life.

[Alex Kovac]

Alex had a late lunch and brought it to the break room. The warrior didn't want to go to hangars because the instinct would be to help out and maybe even head out on patrol. Alex nodded to Kris and ate his sandwich quietly.

[Ezmeralda]

Ezmeralda came in with a drink from the cafeteria. "Hey," she said giving them both a quick nod before taking a seat in a comfy chair.

Alex gets a smile in response to his nod, Kris also raising his arm a bit in greeting. He didn't say anything. Not with both of them enjoying their sandwiches.

He does, however, sit up as Ezmeralda enters the break room. "... Hello." His eyebrows lift a bit and he smiles appreciatively her way. He has another quick bite of his sandwich as he watches her take a seat.

[Ezmeralda]

"Um, hi?" she paused and looked at him again, "Wait. I don't know you. Did we already hire locals?"

[Alex Kovac]

Alex just smiled and waved to Ezmeralda. The warrior took a sip of the juice brought from the cafeteria. The company was big enough for Alex to not know everyone so it wasn't that weird finding someone new.

[Krisztofer Amasi]

He chuckled and shook his head. "No, but that's a good guess. I'm Krisztofer Amasi. I'm here to share information. I've already met with your, err, CO. The Major."

[Ezmeralda]

"Oh, so you're a local informant?" she asked somewhat surprised, "So you are here hiding out while the fighting happens?"

[Krisztofer Amasi]

"Just a stopping point. I've shared what I know and now your boss and the AFFC would like me to gather some more specific information. I'll be heading out tomorrow." Kris answers, cool and casual.

[Alex Kovac]

Alex looked up from the sandwich but kept quiet. The pilot wasn't going to interrupt the conversation between them two. The Penguin kept a sharp eye and ear to commit to memory what this man said.

[Ezmeralda]

"Safer here, get reports on how the attack went down if you are asked, and you know if anyone escaped," she nodded, "Makes enough sense to me. So what are you looking to do while you wait?"

[Krisztofer Amasi]

"It's better if I don't know too much about your operation today. As for me, well, just recharging really. I'm usually on the go for weeks on end, so having a day off is nice. This ship's pretty big too. You even have your own library. It's fancy."

[Alex Kovac]

Alex whispered. "Some of us like to study." The mech warrior took a sip of the juice.

[Krisztofer Amasi]

"What do you study?" He asks, swinging around on the sofa a bit to better bring Alex into the conversation.

[Alex Kovac]

"I study math, schematics, tactics... among other things." Alex said with a smile. "And for months of travel a good fantasy book is a good way to keep your mind busy."

[Ezmeralda]

Ezmeralda sipped her drink. "Mmmm, lots of time to read between deployments. I'm more into memoires and detective stories but, you know, whatever gets you through a few weeks in a tiny room."

[Krisztofer Amasi]

"You're both on standby now, aren't you? Does that make you tense?" He asks. "It must be very different compared to space travel."

[Alex Kovac]

"I already had my moment of tenseness... I am more relax now. I trust my company will work well on the target at hand." Alex smiled.

[Ezmeralda]

"Nah, standby is more boring than tense," she shrugged her shoulders, "They don't even know we are here yet. Worst case I can foresee is scrambling our fastest remaining mechs to run down some lucky scout patrol."

[Krisztofer Amasi]

"They'd be gone by the time you got there. It's still a good distance." Kris points out.
