"To find the bunks you go up the ramp then forward, up, right, right, right, up, left, forward then they are on both sides of the corridor. And if you see a very large woman with a frown, that is our master sergeant so you probably should move slowly and keep your hands where she can see them until she trusts you."

"That may be a while, so moving slowly in general could be of use."

"H-hey, wait!" He was still trying to memorise the mad rush of instructions and then the advice about some Master Sergeant. It had all raced out of his mind almost as quick as Yori told it.

"Are you going there? Could you maybe just show me the way? Err, please?"

Yori turns, her expression blank.
"I suppose I can serve as an escort. I am heading back there now actually."
She gestures to the enormous bulk of the dropship.
"It would be unideal for you to become lost, particularly given nighttime ambient temperatures. Please stay close...but not too close, I am most comfortable with a distance of roughly half a meter."

"And it didn't occur to you to offer? Or, am I that unimportant?" He asks, slowing down until he was walking beside her.

"Yuh-huh, you don't say. I'd rather not get lost and freeze. Thank you." A quick visual check confirmed he was about three quarters of a metre away and a step behind her. "This should be fine. So, does that thing, er, she, have a name?" He flicks his head toward the biggest dropship.

"Oh, given that our conversation had extended 3 minutes longer than the average I assumed you would want to cease speaking to me. That is usually how it goes. This is an interesting surprise though."

Following his flick with her neutral gaze
"That's the Angel's Descent. A overlord class dropship. Typically they mass 9,700 tons and can carry up to 36 mechs."

"Why would you not care how long people talked to you? You can tell a lot by it. People who have shorter conversations are probably busier or do not like you. People who talk longer might be bored or more friendly. And no offence taken, odd has some negative connotations but is hardly one of the worst descriptors I have had applied."

"I've never thought about that. I mean, maybe, but the content of the conversation is more important in my mind. Body language and tone too. Someone might talk to you for ages, but they could just be trying to sweeten you up or scam you. I end up talking to all types."

"That seems reasonable, although I have problems with body language and tone. Are there easy ways to tell if someone is attempting a scam?"
Yori nods to the guards at the bottom of the entry way and starts leading Kris up and into the dropship itself
"I have tried asking, but if they are dishonest then it seems moot."

"If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Always remind yourself of that if someone is offering you goods at half price or they just want a small favour for a big reward." Kris easily and earnestly shares his experiences. "Body language is much harder. Amateurs can give themselves away with nerves, but a professional scam artist is like a veteran actor. Their body language is under control and, err, a deception. Usually."

He chuckles a bit at Yori's comment. "They won't say its a scam if asked. That could be the confession that gets them put away." Kris follows behind Yori, nodding to the guards and looking around while keeping her pace. He was looking around quite intently.

Yori nods, comfortable everything was making sense as the two finally reach the general bunks.

"It is no problem, we are on the same side after all."

"You can probably find what you're looking for here."
Pause
"Would you be able to provide your full name before I depart?"

"I have a room number. R3-15." He was looking for it.

"Oh, sure. It's Krisztofer Amasi, but most folks who know me just call me Kris." With a smile he tapped a finger to his head before giving her a sort of salute with it. Some might find it charming. "Good hunting out there Lieutenant."

Yori snaps back a completely serious crisp salute
"R3-15 is that one there on the right side at the end of the hall. Good fortune doing what you do Mr Amasi, I hope we speak again after a suitable break period."
And if Kris can find his bunk, Yori heads to hers to give a debriefing to the fish.
