Collecting Wood (D1 EA Base Camp Open)

Stomping through the snow, Richard searched for something he could process. Wood to be exact. An undertaking that was not exactly easy, because he had to find something that was A) Dry and B) Could disappear without anyone casting an evil eye on him. So he decided to casually walk through the camp and look for the next best little fire he could find.

[Samara Kinugawa]

Leaning up against a nearby tree, Samara forced herself to breathe slow, even breaths. Sure, she had tried to stick to a workout schedule in transit but there was only so much that could be done in the ship's gym.

The idea that she could have backslide in fitness was unconscionable. Balling her calloused fist up, she struck the tree in frustration then scowled at her hand, as if were the limb's fault for feeling pain.

Richard watched Samara a little from a distance. He knew she was part of the 5th company and seemed to be from the Combine.

Fascinating, he thought, are all the guys from the DCMS weirdos?

"You good over there?" he asked

Realizing there was someone else there, Samara picked herself up from off the tree. She was still a little winded, but it was amazing what stores of energy one could find when their pride was on the line.

"Eh? Oh. Yeah. Yeah, I'm good. Just getting some exercise in. You?"

"um, yeah. sure I'm just walking, moving my legs and stuff" he answered.

"You, uh, didn't happen to see a stack of wood somewhere, did you?" he asked, not at all suspiciously

"Stack of wood?" Samara asked. "Maybe. Why? You lost your wood or something?"

[Richard Winter]

"I,... Um," Richard thought of a good excuse.
This took a moment, but he couldn't think of anything that would actually make sense.

"I need it for a small private project, however supplies are a bit,... limited and I want to secure some before it all goes to camp."
