Red hair now even messier, Catherine shoots a bright grin up at Alek. She then picks up a green fizzy drink bottle from the cooler for herself and proceeds to enjoy a sip.

Having brought no chair, she opts to drag the still slowly inflating floaty whale closer and leans back against it to relax as well.

Yoko went over to her lounge and sat down again, chuckling at the reactions as she took something out of her bag to open up the wine bottle, "Go ahead and join Alex, Princess. I'll look after your sister and we can all enjoy the weather."

She looked over at Alek as she tucked the cork away, "Brave of you to go swimming so early in the season. You're not one of those people who would swim in a hole in the ice are you?"

As Yoko did this she patted the other side of the towel she was sitting on for Gianna.

At some point sun glasses had appeared on the big Lyran's face and the shaded Gaze turned to Yoko with a smile on hos lips "I grew up on a planet whose main export was ice Yoko. I not only would swim in a hole in the ice but have many times before when I was younger." He replied chuckling

"This may as well be a tropical beach so far as I'm concerned." He took a long pull from the beer

"Have you tried swimming in cold waters? It's very refreshing, almost invigorating in a way."

"When the water is too soft to walk on, it's way too warm, uncle Dhorn?" Catherine throws in with a laugh. "Swimming in cold water is definitely an experience. I've had it before and don't need a refresher. I'll just invigorate myself with a cold drink instead."

[Yoko Lee]

At some point sun glasses had appeared on the big Lyran's face and the shaded Gaze turned to Yoko with a smile on hos lips "I grew up on a planet whose main export was ice Yoko. I not only would swim in a hole in the ice but have many times before when I was younger." He replied chuckling

"This may as well be a tropical beach so far as I'm concerned." He took a long pull from the beer

"Have you tried swimming in cold waters? It's very refreshing, almost invigorating in a way."

Yoko chuckled, pouring herself some wine into a paper cup, "I have. The town I grew up in was a fishing village where the bay was frozen over a couple months out of the year. They said the cold waters were great for fishing crab like organisms and fatty fish, whales and stuff like that. Had a festival in the winter where the people of the village would walk through the cold river that ran through town before it froze in only loin cloths, praying for a mild winter."

A sip, "Admittedly, the place we moved to once I was in college was much warmer, but I'll always be a cold weather girl."

"That sounds like a pretty nice place, Yoko." Catherine takes a sip from her green lemonade. "Do you have plans to visit your home town again?"

[Yoko Lee]

"Hm? No, not... well... maybe one day Cat. Not anytime soon, at least. I don't have any relatives there anymore, and it's been almost a decade since I spoke to any friends from there. I'd love to see the village again, but it feels like I'd be and outsider there by this point, you understand."

There was also the fact she had a warrant outstanding there still, she imagined. Not that she had the ability to double check that this exact second.

[Gianna Rains]

Alex was a bit concerned and held Blair's hand. "Are you okay Princess?" The Penguin looked at the maiden and smiled. "If you want we can sit over there."

Princess's eyes got wide and she stared at Alex's hand holding hers. "We, um... That sounds...nice," the blonde finally manages to say, looking at Alex nervously a moment before her eyes flash to Gianna. The look from her sister indicates that she's pleased by this turn of events, though clearly baffled about how it came to pass. Rather than try to explain it, Princess simply leans into Alex a bit, following the lead of his hand to the spot he'd suggested.

"Um, thanks Alex," Princess says, voice warm but but uncertain. "You don't, ah, have to keep me company, if you'd rather be..." She looks at and then waves dismissively toward Cat.

As Yoko did this she patted the other side of the towel she was sitting on for Gianna.

The elder Rains girl, seeing what she decides to call progress for Princess, gives a sort of wordless facial shrug and then moves with purpose to join Yoko. She smiles at the conversation with Cat and Alek and remains incredibly discreet about the number of times she's checking out Yoko and her swimsuit.

Yoko pours Gianna a cup of chilled sweet wine in one of the paper cups and puts an umbrella and straw in it as she responds to Cat, handing it over to the woman after she sits down. It was basically like a Moscato, sweet and low alcohol with a pinkish color and a faint honey flavor behind it.

Sipping from her lemonade bottle -- which lacks any accoutrements like straw and umbrella -- Catherine looks at the pink bottle, having no idea where it came from. Well, she hadn't stocked the cooler herself, but had left that job to Wildhog instead.

"Is that some kind of strawberry liquor?" The young Mechwarrior asks curiously.

"Hm? No... it's just wine."

Yoko picked up the bottle and looked it over, "Says it's from this planet, made from some sort of local fruit called a 'grapesteen'. So some sort of local grape equivalent the colonists figured out was edible and fermentable then, prolly."

She chuckled and took a sip through one of the little straws she'd 'borrowed' from the mess hall, her nose scrunching ever so slightly, "Whatever it is, it's sweet and tart, not too dry or boozy."

Alex smiled as the penguin licked the ice cream. "It has been a while since we talked and I wanted to know how have you been." Kovac nodded and well. "How have you been?"

Catherine leans in to give the bottle a more up close look. "Why is there a foot on the label?"

[Yoko Lee]

Yoko took a sip, "Well, it certainly doesn't TASTE like feet. I mean, it's called "Barefoot"; Could be some sort of saying in English? Makes no sense to me why you'd call it that in Japanese."

"Barefoot Bigfoot Grapestein-Dingsda wine?" Catherine shrugs with a little grin.

That gets a laugh from Yoko, "You know, that actually sounds kind of fancy in a way. Certainly more so than just 'Barefoot'."

She looked up at the midday sun through her shades, also shading her eyes a bit with her hand.

"How are you liking it Miss Rains?"
