Supply Run (D5 LA Pryvidok Event)

The fresh food brought in by Kris had gone down a treat. Furthermore, he'd confidently reported the seaside town of Pryvidok was devoid of enemies and the main highways were clear. The Akos Militia were hunkering down. All that meant a demand for more fresh produce! It takes most of the afternoon, but a supply run is organised. You'll be participating. The task was simple: find and bring back decent fresh supplies, especially food.

There are three paths for this event. Players should pick one. All steps on a path must be succeeded. There will be an individual award for success. Additionally, for each route, the character(s) that rolls the highest on the underlined part of each path will receive an additional prize. E.g. a) for path 1. Any failed rolls will prevent you completing the event successfully.

Path 1 - Secure the food
What the Angels need most, to stop a drop of morale, is good fresh food and produce. You'll try to find some. Maybe some fish?
a) First, you need to find it - You can identify this with a Craft Cooking [Awareness] roll TN20 or a Survival [Perception] Roll TN25.
b) Haggle for it - You need to purchase the food without blowing the budget. You can do this with a Commerce [Awareness] Roll TN20 or a Negotiation [Awareness] Roll TN25.
c) Put it to use - You need to clearly communicate how to get the food supplies back safely, where to store them and who needs to be informed. This is a Communication [Awareness] Roll TN20.
Individual award: If you complete this path you'll be able to secure some fresh ingredients for yourself for one of your favourite meals. Gain a Free Raise on any non-combat roll in a later event.

Path 2 - General supplies
While less immediately desired, some general supplies are always useful. Getting them first hand is cheaper than trying to order them from off world.
a) First, you need to find it - You can identify this with an Administration [Intelligence] roll TN25 or a Technician: Any or Medtech [Intelligence] Roll TN30.
b) Haggle for it - You need to purchase the food without blowing the budget. You can do this with a Commerce [Awareness] Roll TN20 or a Negotiation [Awareness] Roll TN25.
c) Put it to use - You need to clearly communicate how to get the supplies back safely, where to store them and who needs to be informed. This is a Communication [Awareness] Roll TN20.
Individual award: If you complete this path you'll be able to secure something useful for yourself or your team. One non-combat event roll of your choice will not have called raises limited by your Edge.

Path 3 - Loot the abandoned Garrison
The promise of military stuff, parts and perhaps intelligence is quite alluring. However, the front gates are locked and you can't make a scene.
a) Get inside - You can either creep in through the abandoned recruiting office or climb a wall. Make either a Stealth [dexterity] or Athletics [strength] roll TN20 to get inside without being made to move on by the local sheriff.
b) Find stuff - You're in. Now you just need to make this worthwhile. Make an Investigation [perception] TN25 roll to find something valuable that has been left behind.
c) Put it to use. You need to clearly communicate how to get the items back safely, where to store them and who needs to be informed. This is a Communication [Awareness] Roll TN15.
Individual award: If you complete this path you'll be able to take something nice back for yourself. Gain a bonus point of Edge in any one future event.

Yoko tried getting some supplies for cooking, like she'd told Cat she was going to, but all she managed to do was pick up some junk food for herself; She didn't know the first thing about actual cooking, unfortunately.

Shopping trip? Shopping trip! Alison knew her way around any shopping mall, an expert in the spending arts. It didn't take her long to locate a store that served what looked like very good fresh food. Plus bubblegum. Plus Marshmallows!

Unfortunately however, her haggling was to put it midly quite bad. She'd never had to care about the value of food before, so she had no idea if what was agreed was a fair price.

Spoilers: It wasn't.

Still, she had acquired decent food, and get it delivered back. Hopefully nobody paid attention to the price tag on luxury items!

At least there would be marshmallows for the hot chocolate in the future. A worthy venture far more important than looting any battlefields.

Catherine loves exploring and the abandoned Garrison is right up her alley. The young tomboy has been sneaking about and this place is no different.

The place has been truly abandoned though and while the small redhead sees many curious things and places inside, nothing what she finds is really worth taking back home. That is unfortunate.

It is still time well spent, however, in Hellcat's opinion and she returns much refreshed.

"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh lentils!"

Richard was thrilled when he came across a vendor selling his favorite delicacies in kilo bags. He tried to use the negotiation methods Scarlett taught him and was sure he hadn't been ripped off this time (spoiler, he had been ripped off) and was now trying to convince HQ to buy the (way too expensive) kilo bags of lentils.

"What do you mean you hate lentils?"

"But, but they are nutritious and,..."

"I'm sure there are others who love lentils..."

"Please Q.Q ........."

His efforts were in vain, HQ did not release the funds.

There were still a few items Elle wanted, so she went along with the supply run. She considered looking for food. After all, she had raided the pantry a couple of times now. But, some medical equipment caught her eye. Bartering for what she wanted was simple enough and she knew exactly where it would all be going. Arrangements were made and she was soon on her way back.

Tanaki heads into town, chats up a few merchants and secures fresh food for the company without many difficulties. He spends a few hours talking about the difficulties on the roads and all of the recent military activity down south near the coast.

Gianna couldn't resist going into town. She wanted to help support the team for sure, but she also wanted to check out the shopping scene for herself.

Which turned out to be rather too much of a distraction to her well-intentioned plan of acquiring some generally useful supplies...

Mary did try looking about stealthily, but the being a horrible burned up mercenary did not loan itself to staying off the sheriff's radar.

Results:

Some of the Angels manage to locate reasonably priced food and goods. In particular, Eilonwy sources fresh medicinal ingredients and medical equipment replacement parts for a good price. The reduction of tourists meant the local pharmacies and hospital had less need of them. On the food side, Tanaki picks up a broad selection of fresh items from the market, which HQ approves the purchase of. The APC would be quite full on the way back to the dropsite. There was a downside however. A few Angels had tried getting into the abandoned Garrison. Most had been prevented due to the prying eyes of one particular sheriff who regularly made foot patrols of the area to deter looters. Those who had got in were unable to find anything really worth taking. What a shame.

You have picked up some of the freshest, most delicious fish in all of Pryvidok. You can keep this for yourself or give this to another character. This advantage may be used instead of a die roll in session 2 and session 2 only (after that it will no longer be fresh!). It cannot be used if you have rolled already. The roll will count as if it were passed with a single raise.
