[Catherine Maia Hayes]

"Go for the best salvage, but don't risk your life!" Catherine laughs. "Be mercenary, but be smart about it. Always remain aware: A prone Battlemech with crushed legs still has working arms and lots of weapons."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Oh for sure, safety first always. I don't want anything to happen to my lance and I have plans for life after this. What about you, you planning to make a life in this or do you have other ideas?"

[Catherine Maia Hayes]

"Having plans is good! And important. I love Battlemechs. I love piloting them. I have been with mercenaries all my life. It is all I know. I am a founding member of the Angels, even if I was just a kid at the time. I grew up with the Angels, so I plan to stick with them. I want to make my daddy proud."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"I have no doubt he is." She said warmly. "18 years old and in command of a lance? I'm 25 and I've been training to pilot a mech since I could grip a throttle and have just barely gotten my first command. I will be saluting you in no time."

[Catherine Maia Hayes]

That does put a small damper on Catherine enthusiasm. "I am sitting on the shoulders of my dad." She puts the drum sticks down on the barrel before her.

"He carried me all my life and gave me the head start that lets me be where I am now. She showed me the ropes and held my hand. I am walking on my own now, but he had already guided me so far, I just needed to stumble into this role."

The small Sergeant takes a moment to calm herself. "And had Laks not dragged me out of my room, I would have stayed in there forever and not managed even that."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"You're walking on your own but you aren't alone." She said looking over at her friend. "A lot of people on this ship care about you and are rooting for you. And if you stumble we will catch you." She smiled. "I never got to meet your dad but he must have been a really great man."

[Catherine Maia Hayes]

Putting her hands in her lap, the small redhead looks over at Mei-Ling in reminiscence. "He was." She confirms. "Daddy was the best. And so are the Angels. Thank you."

Mei half sat down on the edge of the milk crate next to Cat and put an arm around her.

"Of course." She said happily. "So, you got any requests?" She picked up the drumsticks and gave them a practiced twirl. "What's you favorite type of music anyway?"

Catherine scoots over a little to make more room. Fortunately the small redhead takes up very little space.

"Uh ... do you know something irish, Goo?" She requests tentatively. Seeing how Mei-Ling intends to do some more drumming, Hellcat gets up from the crate and skips away outside of arms reach.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Something Irish? Hmm, I don't think I do. Do you have an example you can play for me? Maybe i can pick it up."

[Catherine Maia Hayes]

Suddenly put on the spot, Catherine has to think for a moment. What little irish music she knows is not drum heavy either.

"I can try ..." The small redhead offers quietly.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei looked confused at first then chuckled.

"I meant did you have a song on your vidphone you could play, but if you wanna give it go don't let me stop you." She said offering up the sticks.

[Catherine Maia Hayes]

The young Sergeant blushes again.

"I don't have a vidphone. I do have a comm kit though, but usually leave it in my room, or with Dúthracht."
