Hot Stuff (Pregame 2, EN, Kitchen)

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei remained mostly quite as she helped clean up, sweeping some spilt flour up off the floor.

[Eric Voelker]

"Maybe chocolate chip. I'm more of a savoury guy. Anna will eat any and all cookies however." He laughed gently as he buttered the bread he'd sliced. "You're welcome to give her something sweet from time to time if you see her, but not too much. She's really hyper with too much sugar." He shook his head with a big smile. "Then she crashes and it's completely lights out. You have to carry her to bed. Sleeps anywhere otherwise."

[Eilonwy Ainsley]

"I'll keep that in mind." she nodded. "Chocolate chip should be petty simple to make."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"It's healthy if a Doctor gives it to you right?"

Phrasing

"Well if you aren't into sweets what could we make you Major? You said you like savory so....Latiao? It's a spicy kinda sweet snack that chews like gum but is made out of pure gluten!" She seemed very excited about the idea but also like she had no idea how to go about making it.

[Eric Voelker]

"Never heard of it."

He doesn't look sold on it, but he doesn't immediately dismiss the suggestion.

"If you make it then I'd give it a try."

He gets to laying on the ham.

[Eilonwy Ainsley]

"It certainly sounds interesting. I'd like to try it, too." Elle considered things for a moment. "I could make pasties."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

If she had been drinking Mei would have spit it out.

"What are those, like pastries? We should do a pot luck dinner maybe some time."

[Eric Voelker]

"You are both big foodies." He points out, finishing his sandwich and not noticing the irony of the statement in that moment. He grabs it and a plate. Then he gets a knife to chop it in two. The knife is left in the sink.

"So. Next time."

His voice is matter of fact and non-judgmental. He thumbs toward the pantry as moves past them both to collect his documents and coffee.

"Keep it to your bunks, ok?"

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Yes Sir." Mei said snapping to attention. "Sorry Sir."

[Eilonwy Ainsley]

"We will, Major." she agreed. "And, we'll have those cookies ready for everyone by the morning."

[Eric Voelker]

"Carry on."

The papers are placed under the plate to allow them to be carried together. With his hands full, Eric pushes the door open with his shoulder.

"Gute Nacht."

He heads back out through the cafeteria back toward his room.

/ Exit

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Good Night."

Mei wanted to collapse.

"Oh my god that didn't just happen." She laughed.

[Eilonwy Ainsley]

"What do you think? Chocolate chip?" She looked at Mei and asked.

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

"Uhh, yeah. Right the cookies. Yes we should make some chocolate chip cookies for sure."

This woman is unflappable.

"What, uh, what do we need?"

[Eilonwy Ainsley]

"Some privacy, but we'll get to that." She grinned. "The ingredients are mostly the same, flour, sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, butter, eggs, vvanilla and chocolate, of course."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei went back into the pantry and started gathering things.

"How do you feel about nicknames because I feel like I should start calling you CJ."

OK but where is the brown sugar for real this time?

"Because I just got caught about to put my hand in the cookie jar."

[Eilonwy Ainsley]

"Mmm... alright. But, now I have to think of one for you."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei trundled out with her arms loaded with ingredients.

"I'm sure you will think of something, you can't do any worse than my callsign." She said plopping everything on the counter. "So how long does that cookie dough need to chill before we can bake it?"

[Eilonwy Ainsley]

"It will probably be ready once we've finished mixing this one." she answered. "Cherry."

[Mei-Ling Zhou]

Mei went to the fridge and pulled out the cherries, plucking one out and wrapping the stem around her finger.

"Then we have to wait for this batch to chill and all the cookies to cool when they are done. That's a lot of time."

She held her finger up to Elle's mouth.
