Klaus nods in response to the fleshed out information.

"To members of 3rd Company, I have acquired a field relay. With CO Voelker's permission, I would like to distribute it to you for the first stage of our operations. You are the first eyes on what we find, and every detail you can pass along would be priceless"

Mei dragged herself up and yawned her way over to Klaus.

"Sweet what you got for me, gimme those juicy details."

[Eric Voelker]

"Fine by me. The Senior Lieutenant has made a fine case for us to have more field relays available in future. They might arrive too late for this deployment, but try to use those we have and get used to it. They'll be a boon in sharing information quickly."

Eric waits for Mei to sit nearer Klaus so they could speak quietly. "Anyone other questions? If not, our Staff Sergeant has a rota of preparatory exercises for the next two days that he will be sharing."

Richard pushed forward to Mei and Klaus.

"Thank you very much senior lieutenant. I will make sure the 3rd will make the best use of it for this mission."

He elbowed Mei in the side a bit and whispered "At least pretend there's a hierarchy, the rest of the crew won't take me seriously."

He wasn't pissed, more.... worried. Mei would recognize that her old friend was more nervous than usual and had a slight whiff of tobacco about him, further evidence that something was not quite right.

Klaus nods. "Lieutenant Winter and Sargeant Zhou then. Let us meet before planetfall"

"Please do not forget Sergeant Machuru, she is also a part of the 3rd" he returned
"Just pass on time and place, we will be there"

Steffen took the stage, as it were, to start talking about the rota for training exercises and drills. There had been a few simulations to keep people sharp en route, but this would be different. These would be simulations with the local environment and enemy in mind. Base assaults, patrol ambushes, salvage convoy protection and so on.

The mechwarriors would be kept busy until drop.

Butcher nodded his understanding to Steffen. And if he could be said to have a look of approval, this was it. He appreciated when his two favorite things coincided: training and duty.

Alex just nodded and kept typing.

There was a little time at the end for further questions. The briefing would otherwise soon be called. Those who wished to stick around for a private word with the CO could do so.

After noting the sim and drill schedule from Steffen, Butcher turned his attention to the Major. He waited for further instruction or dismissal so he could filter the information down to his team.

Soon everyone was dismissed. Preparations for the first stage of the operation were beginning.
