Yori takes a moment to recalibrate her brain from casserole.

"Oh, that is at least 300% more unideal than the casserole absence."
Maybe it would take some time.

"That is difficult, I am told the Magistrocracy, as well as being degenerate is a comparatively pleasant place to live. Will you be able to return if you earn enough money?"

Gianna glares at Yori for a moment, triggered by use of the word "degenerate," but then responds. "I don't know if going back to the Magistracy is in either of our plans, regardless," she says with a bit of an edge to her voice. "But Blair makes her own choices too. We'll see where things are at when this job ends," she says, essentially giving a verbal shrug about the question of Canopus.

"Uh, I'm not going back anytime soon," Princess pipes up. "There's, um, things to learn. About the galaxy. And stuff," she says with some over-eagerness, trying to pull the other women away from talking about Canopus.

Gianna glares at Yori for a moment, triggered by use of the word "degenerate," but then responds. "I don't know if going back to the Magistracy is in either of our plans, regardless," she says with a bit of an edge to her voice. "But Blair makes her own choices too. Yori nods slowly.
"I understand. I am unlikely to return home either. It is not ideal and as all of us may be dead by the end of this contract elaborate forward planning is not necessary."
Now turning back to stare at Princess for a few moments.
"What is it you want to learn in particular? There appear to be considerable gaps in your knowledge."

"Um, I mean... Lots of stuff? I don't... Like nothing about mercenaries or mechs or any of this was ever on my radar til I got here. I just... I knew Gianna was doing stuff and being important, but I didn't think... I was supposed to be doing other things," she says, obviously embarrassed.

Gianna's eyebrow rises at the idea she was "being important" in the mercenary world, but she doesn't ask about that now.

Gianna raises an eyebrow and looks curiously at Yori, interested to hear her guesses. Princess quietly says, "I was the youngest daughter in a rich Canopian family. That... turned out to not be so rich..." She looks saddened but shrugs and then joins Gianna in waiting for the guesses.

Yori hopes so or things are going to be much complicated.

Eventually though she realises they were both waiting for the guesses.

"Oh Yori, you've still got it," Gianna says happily, apparently used to her fellow lance commander's particular sense of humor.

Yori takes her glasses off and slowly starts polishing them with a handkerchief, a sure sign of happiness.
